We have another exciting product test for you - we are looking for 40 Mumsnetters who don't already have a Wii at home but would like to take part in "My First Wii Challenge" with Nintendo.

Nintendo say they "are keen to offer Wiis to 40 MN families to encourage them to spend fun time together as a family as well as give them the opportunity to test out some great games". If you already have a Wii, please look out for the feedback thread for this project as Nintendo would like to hear your views too (in exchange for a prize draw Grin).

If you are selected for the test you'll be sent a Wii console, handsets and nunchucks for all the family plus the following games:

uDraw GameTablet with uDraw Studio
Mario Kart
Kirby's Epic Yarn, and
Just Dance Jnrs

We'd then like you to take part in 4 weekly challenges with the Wii. This will involve playing with one game per week and adding your feedback to a thread on Mumsnet.

The challenge will start week commencing 4 July and last for 4 weeks - so please only apply if you are able to add feedback every week in July.

Ideally we're looking for MNers in the UK with at least 2 children.

After the challenge is completed and you have added at least 4 lots of feedback you will be able to keep the console and games for your family to enjoy.

In addition, we will need 10 of the families selected to film themselves and their family playing with the Wii. These videos will be used on the Nintendo pages on Mumsnet in the autumn and possibly elsewhere (they will be hosted on YouTube). If you are willing to undertake the video element please indicate this on the form link below. You will be supplied with a FlipCam (which will need to be returned). You will be briefed on filming requirements but it shouldn't be too onerous.

To sign up please add your details here

Good luck and many thanks

LawrieMarlow · 07/07/2011 09:25

I do hope it's today - am in most of the day but not on Friday

AnnMumsnet · 07/07/2011 09:54

Hi
Just heard that they are on their way and you should receive them by the weekend Smile - they said sorry for the delay (had been a few unexpected issues) - and that the games may not all be included as they may be sent direct from Germany, but you will get them all.

So not likely to be today then after all. Ah well

Neverlandpirate · 07/07/2011 09:58

I'm back Bohica I had to take up residence in the bathroom yesterday as darling dd shared the tummy bug she had at the weekend with me....or was I poisoned by my neighbour for highlighting the disappearance of his wife? Wink

Still no word about the wii?

Maybe today is the day?...I'm glad it wasn't yesterday as I couldn't lift my head off the pillow without being sick! Am feeling a bit more human today so feel free nintendo and send them out. Please!!!

Neverlandpirate · 07/07/2011 10:02

Thanks Ann for the update. I am very intrigued as to what their unexpected issues are! :)

LawrieMarlow · 07/07/2011 10:41

Thank you Ann - is the testing schedule going to be amended at all? And if they try and deliver tomorrow when I'm not in hopefully they will try one of neighbours (am not expecting Ann to know that Grin)

GypsyMoth · 07/07/2011 10:53

Wonder what is so special anout these mysterious wii? Are they a new model we are testing? Can't understand the delay, surely just grab 40 from the warehouse?? Or are they a new style not out in uk yet?

And why are the games coming from Germany? Weird!

GypsyMoth · 07/07/2011 10:54

Can you tell I'm bored waiting now and pondering!? Lol

Jaquelinehyde · 07/07/2011 11:09

Hhmmm yes I wonder why there has been problems, they must have thousands of them just sitting in a warehouse. We only needed 40 it's hardly going to be a problem is it? Hmm

Yes and why Germany for the games?? Confused

God I do love a bit of speculation!

I wonder what colours we will get, will we all get white ones, or black, or red?

Which courier/delivery service will they come with?

When will the games arrive?

What am I going to cook for tea tonight?

Will the cyotee ever catch roadrunner?

LawrieMarlow · 07/07/2011 11:09

I am bored too. Marking exam papers (so needing to be at home) and the excitement of a Wii coming would brighten up my dull existence :)

LawrieMarlow · 07/07/2011 11:10

I didn't know they came in different colours [impressed]

GypsyMoth · 07/07/2011 11:13

Maybe they are new colours? Blue or green?

I think courier will be citylink and my wii is going to be White and the games will all be in german!! It will arrive tomorrow at 11.16 and I will be OUT and it won't be possible to re deliver til Monday!!

That's my prediction

Neverlandpirate · 07/07/2011 11:39

I never knew there were different colours either!Smile

The more I think about it the more intrigued I get as to the delay.Hmm

I wonder if Ann knows or did she have to sign an official secrets act for?

LawrieMarlow · 07/07/2011 11:56

Maybe someone had to spy on us all to make sure we didn't already have a Wii Shock

Scootergrrrl · 07/07/2011 12:06

I've been out ALL MORNING which is normally a sure sign that every delivery I've been waiting for will arrive at once. Will we only have the weekend to test the first game? It might take me that long to figure out how to plug it in Grin

5inthebed · 07/07/2011 13:09

Doesn't look like it is coming today :(

Games from Germany?? But I don't know how to speak Germannnnn!!! However will I play them?? Grin

Yeah.. I'm bored and impatient... can you tell?

QueenOfFeckingEverything · 07/07/2011 17:31

Oh well we are away over the weekend so the testing will not be able to start til monday after school now.

What 'issues' though? I'm also intrigued, surely there are loads of Wiis already sat around at Nintendo UKHQ or wherever they keep them? Why Germany?

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 07/07/2011 20:56

I'm not sure if ours is being delivered home or to work - if it's going to work I hope it arrives tomorrow otherwise it'll be next week before we get it [sob]

My bet is that we get a pink one - ds1 will hate it (he's a boy dont'cha know!) and ds2 will love it (pink's his favourite colour!), and that the games will be in Chinese Wink

KateMiddletonsEyebrows · 07/07/2011 21:48

Not here yet Sad

ProfYaffle · 08/07/2011 07:03

Just realised I'm out most of the day today so that has surely got to mean they deliver today!

Triggles · 08/07/2011 07:44

Alright, confess. How many of us are hanging about by our windows, watching for a delivery today? Grin
