We have another exciting product test for you - we are looking for 40 Mumsnetters who don't already have a Wii at home but would like to take part in "My First Wii Challenge" with Nintendo.

Nintendo say they "are keen to offer Wiis to 40 MN families to encourage them to spend fun time together as a family as well as give them the opportunity to test out some great games". If you already have a Wii, please look out for the feedback thread for this project as Nintendo would like to hear your views too (in exchange for a prize draw Grin).

If you are selected for the test you'll be sent a Wii console, handsets and nunchucks for all the family plus the following games:

uDraw GameTablet with uDraw Studio
Mario Kart
Kirby's Epic Yarn, and
Just Dance Jnrs

We'd then like you to take part in 4 weekly challenges with the Wii. This will involve playing with one game per week and adding your feedback to a thread on Mumsnet.

The challenge will start week commencing 4 July and last for 4 weeks - so please only apply if you are able to add feedback every week in July.

Ideally we're looking for MNers in the UK with at least 2 children.

After the challenge is completed and you have added at least 4 lots of feedback you will be able to keep the console and games for your family to enjoy.

In addition, we will need 10 of the families selected to film themselves and their family playing with the Wii. These videos will be used on the Nintendo pages on Mumsnet in the autumn and possibly elsewhere (they will be hosted on YouTube). If you are willing to undertake the video element please indicate this on the form link below. You will be supplied with a FlipCam (which will need to be returned). You will be briefed on filming requirements but it shouldn't be too onerous.

To sign up please add your details here

Good luck and many thanks

Thank you - we were chosen too! Now let's see if it's serious competition to Cbeebies...

Jaquelinehyde · 29/06/2011 15:07

OMG Shock we have been chosen too!! Grin Grin

I am far too excited, I can't wait to tell the older two when they get in.

Thank- you so much.

Jaquelinehyde · 29/06/2011 15:26

and my God this tops the years supply of washing up liquid I won a couple of years ago! Grin

JemimaMop · 29/06/2011 19:56

I'm in!!!!!!

And I have just been really cruel. I gathered my 3 DC in the kitchen and told them I had some serious news which might effect their summer holidays. Poor DS1's face dropped and he said "Do you have to work all summer?" (I have 7 weeks off). I said "No... we're getting a Wii!"

I think their squeals of delight were probably heard in MNHQ Grin

LawrieMarlow · 29/06/2011 20:28

I wonder when they will start arriving (probably on Friday when I am out most of the day Grin)

LawrieMarlow · 29/06/2011 20:28

Or tomorrow when I am equally out most of the day....

MrsSnaplegs · 29/06/2011 20:56

The sooner the better my DH is stuck with both dc with chickenpox - they are all going stir crazy

HumperdinkFangboner · 29/06/2011 21:13

DS is hoping it arrives tomorrow, he's off for the strike and wants to unpack the box!

GypsyMoth · 30/06/2011 15:32

IShallWearMidnight · 30/06/2011 16:12

QueenOfFeckingEverything · 30/06/2011 16:16

I don't think they are being sent out until tomorrow...

GypsyMoth · 30/06/2011 16:29

LawrieMarlow · 30/06/2011 16:31

I saw a home delivery network van and got excited Grin

ShatnersBassoon · 30/06/2011 16:34

They should be here before Tuesday, according the the email I received.

Patience is required, unfortunately.

GypsyMoth · 30/06/2011 16:45

The product will be sent by the end of this week by courier - please look out for the delivery. If you don't receive it by Tuesday 5th then please let us know.

thats from my email!! end of the week....thats soon...

Neverlandpirate · 30/06/2011 17:13

I have never seen as many delivery vans in our road before! Smile of course none for me!

It's my mums 75th birthday on sun and we will be having lots of visitors over the next few days, so I was hoping to have the wii set up before the festivities begin Grin oh well I will hopefully have some helpers to help me set it up instead.

Anyone know how the wii conects to the tv? Is it a scart or hdmi or what?

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 30/06/2011 21:17

Oh blimey I'd not thought about wiring it up to the TV!

Hope it's not too complicated and that our TV (which is pretty old) has the right sockets!

Hopefully ours is going to DH's work, otherwise who knows where ParcelForce will take it back to!

HumperdinkFangboner · 30/06/2011 21:22

Nothing here either.

Am excited!

Fennel · 30/06/2011 21:24

lol at all the technophobes on this thread, noone with a clue what you do with a wii. I don't know either but I guess it comes with instructions.

Personally I really wonder what a Nunchuck is, the wii comes with two. Is it the thing you wiggle around in the air?

LawrieMarlow · 30/06/2011 21:26

I hope it is scart. Not sure our old and not flat screen television could cope with hdmi things. Hope if I am out when it does come that a neighbour will take it for me.

QueenOfFeckingEverything · 30/06/2011 21:28

Oh crumbs, our tv is ancient. It does have a scart socket, thats what the DVD player is connected with.

Surely it must be scart. Else they'd have said, Only Those With Posh Telly Need Apply.

Neverlandpirate · 30/06/2011 21:35

I think this thread may be full of - "where did you put x wire?" or "where does the purple lead go" etc.. Whenever our boxes finally arrive Grin

We may need to start a new thread of how to set up a wii in 6 steps without the need for wine or valium Smile

At least MNHQ knows that none of us lied on our application forms about not already owning a wii...or we wouldn't be stressing about scarts and hd thingmys etc...

ShatnersBassoon · 30/06/2011 21:37

I'll get the children to plumb it in. They have the technical savvy and nimble fingers that I lack.

GypsyMoth · 30/06/2011 21:39

Maybe there is a you tube video?

As a lone parent that's how I learn all my DIY etc!

Have just got a new tv, lots of sockets in the side

Bohica · 30/06/2011 21:43

I don't know about scarts & hdmthingys but I do know the nunchuck plugs into the bottom of the handheld controls & you can then do boxing & things!

I've been googling the uDraw & is looks compicated fantastic.

I won't get the girls to wait until week 4 to test out dance jnr, that will be on first in our house.

I have warned DH that NO house work will be done this weekend (he is working all weekend) if the Wii arrives tomorrow & I have my friends teenage daughter to come over & help set it up!
