We have another exciting product test for you - we are looking for 40 Mumsnetters who don't already have a Wii at home but would like to take part in "My First Wii Challenge" with Nintendo.

Nintendo say they "are keen to offer Wiis to 40 MN families to encourage them to spend fun time together as a family as well as give them the opportunity to test out some great games". If you already have a Wii, please look out for the feedback thread for this project as Nintendo would like to hear your views too (in exchange for a prize draw Grin).

If you are selected for the test you'll be sent a Wii console, handsets and nunchucks for all the family plus the following games:

uDraw GameTablet with uDraw Studio
Mario Kart
Kirby's Epic Yarn, and
Just Dance Jnrs

We'd then like you to take part in 4 weekly challenges with the Wii. This will involve playing with one game per week and adding your feedback to a thread on Mumsnet.

The challenge will start week commencing 4 July and last for 4 weeks - so please only apply if you are able to add feedback every week in July.

Ideally we're looking for MNers in the UK with at least 2 children.

After the challenge is completed and you have added at least 4 lots of feedback you will be able to keep the console and games for your family to enjoy.

In addition, we will need 10 of the families selected to film themselves and their family playing with the Wii. These videos will be used on the Nintendo pages on Mumsnet in the autumn and possibly elsewhere (they will be hosted on YouTube). If you are willing to undertake the video element please indicate this on the form link below. You will be supplied with a FlipCam (which will need to be returned). You will be briefed on filming requirements but it shouldn't be too onerous.

To sign up please add your details here

Good luck and many thanks

MNHQ

WHOOPPEE!

We were one of the chosen few Grin I wonder how much of this is due to me agreeing to be filmed? (good job I've just bought a load of new make up!). For those of you who are wondering who got picked, we have 2 ds's aged 5 and 3, own a pc and laptop but don't play games on them. The boys have enjoyed playing on friends wii's before but dh has never been keen to get one for ourselves.

DH was hoping said that we wouldn't be picked, but I'm so chuffed!

I hadn't realised that we gt to keep it - just thought that it might help us to decide whether or not it would be a good thing for us. Oh well - no decision to make now!

Thanks MN, I am feeling very lucky today!

5inthebed · 28/06/2011 20:55

I think it had to do with ages as well, as my DC are 8, 5 and 2.

Cimiserations to those who didnt get picked.

5inthebed · 28/06/2011 20:56

Commiserations^

HumperdinkFangboner · 28/06/2011 21:01

We're in too. Grin.

3 DC, have a laptop at home but don't use it for games, also agreed to be filmed, although DH wants to be in front of the camera and I'm not going to stop him the big drama queen !!

The boy is mega excited!

Thanks Nintendo & MNHQ, fab product test. Smile

(am loving the emoticon buttons on the iPhone app BTW)

WiiDram · 28/06/2011 21:03

we are doing the filming though god knows why i said we would, i am possibly the least photogenic person on the whole planet Blush

HumperdinkFangboner · 28/06/2011 21:05

Might have to move the sticks and pebbly shit away from the TV area Blush

PippiLongBottom · 28/06/2011 21:05

My bloody dc are 9, 4 and 2 so that didn't make any odds.

Fennel · 28/06/2011 21:06

I agreed to the filming, but I'm thinking just DP and the dc can be in it, not me. Dc are 11, 9, 7 and we don't have a playstation or xbox or anything like that.

dc have suggested we could film in next door's house, they have a lovely clean tidy house, like a show house, in fact the neighbour is quite glam so perhaps we can film her in my place.

WiiDram · 28/06/2011 21:13

o lord our house is truly dire atm, we are in the middle of an extensive restoration project

i didn't think about that. oh well.

WiiDram · 28/06/2011 21:16

mnhq is it possible to back out of the filming at this stage in proceedings, seeing as others are saying they'd be happy to do it? i mean, i will do it to the best of my ability but i am slightly concerned we and our house might not be quite what nintendo want to use to promote their brand Blush Blush

PippiLongBottom · 28/06/2011 21:18

They would have loved my show home and 3dtv. Oh well. Sad

Bohica · 28/06/2011 21:27

I'm sure you will do a great job WiiDram but if you really mean it I am happy to film.
I'll film them from the garden through the patio doors into the living room thus cutting the undecorated side of the room out and my brown leather sofa Grin

fivegomadindorset · 28/06/2011 21:33

Bollocks, DD just been diagnosed with SN would have cheered us all up.

Congrats to all.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 28/06/2011 21:34

They didn't set the standards of decor and televisual equipment in the house did they Shock Wink

If so I think we may have been selected in error

5inthebed · 28/06/2011 21:35

Oh god, jsut realised, I am going to have to clean my house for the ilming!

NonnoMum · 28/06/2011 21:37

Oooo-errr - they wanna send one to us BUT NOT FILM US.

Guess they could tell just from my posting style that we are Fuglies.

How did they know?

AnnMumsnet · 28/06/2011 21:43

WiiDram - don't worry...we'll be editing the films a lot and you can choose what/where you film to some extent....eg if you really want to do some of the review outside? Email me if you'd really rather not do it!

OP posts:
WiiDram · 28/06/2011 21:44

if i could hand the filming over i would

but i said i'd do it so of course i will if that's not possible

i should have thought about it a bit more first really Blush

Fennel · 28/06/2011 21:50

DP is already planning a sequence. Dc looking bored and listless outside on a sunny day. Nothing to do. Apathy. Despair. Cut to excited engaged happy family round the Wii. etc.

ruddynorah · 28/06/2011 21:56

i said to dd 'we've won a Wii!!!' she said.... 'what's a wii?' bless her cotton socks. she's 5.

PippiLongBottom · 28/06/2011 21:58

Right you lot, have a wonderful time with your wii's. I am going to hide the thread now. Bye x

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 28/06/2011 22:04

Blimey Fennel - he's keen Grin.

I'm not sure my DH will be at all interetsted in it! I'm going to have to find somewhere to stand the video camera on while I do my reports and hope the boys leave me a bt of space in our (small) living room to film them having fun!

Any other filming ideas will be gratefully received!

aristocat · 28/06/2011 22:18

congrats to all the lucky ones, very Envy at you but enjoy and cant wait to see how good they are!

Bohica · 28/06/2011 22:27

Thank you aristocat I have been doing lot's of competitions with MN over the years & apart from a packet of tomato seeds that got lost in the post this is the first product test for us.

Some people who didn't get a chance this time round have posted quite childishly & made some winners feel bad which reads in quite bad taste so it's nice to read a genuine well done & good luck Smile

JulesJules · 29/06/2011 10:26

We were chosen to take part - THANK YOU! The DDs are so excited.
