Asda is looking for 50 Mumsnetters to try out their Back to School uniform range. They've put in a lot of effort to make it hard-wearing, comfortable and easy to wash and iron and want to put it to the test on your child.

If you have a school-aged child or a child about to start school and would like to put the new range through its paces please add your details by clicking here.

You can select uniform for one child - we're sorry if this causes any problems for those with more than one school aged child but we wanted to ensure as many MNers as possible were able to take part.

You may select a t-shirt/ shirt pack, one trousers/ dress/ shirt and one jumper/ cardigan. The uniform will be worth up to £15.

If you are selected to test the uniform, your name, address and sizing/ clothing requirement details will be sent to Asda who will send you the uniform directly.

We will then need you and your child to try the uniform - really putting it through its paces, washing it, wearing it as usual then to add feedback on Mumsnet.

We'll want you to add feedback three times -

~ once when you first receive it

~ when it has been worn and washed once or twice and

~ lastly when it has been washed and worn a few times

Everyone who is selected for the test, and then offers three lots of feedback will be entered into a prize draw to where one winner will receive £200 of Asda vouchers.

Thanks and good luck. If selected you will be emailed confirmation and should receive uniform within 2-3 weeks.

Nothing here, either. This has done nothing to improve my opinion of Asda -appalling customer service.

Asda testers...we have just had the following from the team at Asda:
"Due to overwhelming demand for school uniform for the new term we had unexpectedly sold out of a few of our lines a lot earlier than expected, we are happy to say that we have now restocked and the remaining items will be with you by early next week. We apologise for the delay in receiving your items, if in the instance that we have not been able to secure one specific item for you we have replaced it with a gift card for you to pick up the item in your local store. We really appreciate your patience and look forward to hearing your feedback about our latest range of school uniforms"

So those who are waiting it should be with you next week. For those waiting on one item you may receive a gift card to buy it in store. Hope this works for you all. Please let us know on the thread of any specific problems.

We're aiming to get the feedback thread going soon for those who have had their uniform.

thanks for the info Ann Smile

siblingrivalry · 23/09/2010 19:18

Thanks Ann.

Tortoise · 23/09/2010 19:27

Thanks Ann.
Hope none of ours is replaced with a gift card because i can't get to my nearest Asda!

bratnav · 23/09/2010 22:40

Thanks Ann. Seriously not impressed with asda though.

NoahAndTheWhale · 23/09/2010 23:44

Directed to this thread by Tortoise - nothing here either.

I think Asda could have worked out the logistics of this rather better - 50 sets of uniform should be possible to source within 4 weeks surely.

CaptainKirksNipples · 24/09/2010 11:56

Is there another thread for the actual feedback? I think the fact that many have not been delivered might detract from the feedback?

Anyway, I have got the jumper and the trousers for age 5-6. I had a note inside to say the polo shirt would be sent later. We shop at Asda so a voucher for the polo shirt would suit me.

The trousers are good. Fit and feel of them is very similar to the basic £4.50 ones in Marks. I have the same problem as cupofcoffee my ds is skinny and tall so can be difficut to find trousers for. £3 each for 3 pairs would cost me the same as £4.50 each for 3 pairs at M&S 3for2 prices. I got mine from M&S delivered free so not sure I would get them from Asda in the future at the start of the school year, but I would as replacements for throughout the year as our M&S has a very small selection after schools are back.

I also agree the jumper is thin compared to the school version but will be handy in the autumn. DS likes to take his off in the class room as he gets too hot.

I have not tried washing them yet but I will update when I have.

BuzzingNoise · 24/09/2010 12:03

We're waiting for the polos too, but have the trousers and jumper.
I agree that the jumper is thin, and DS won't wear it unless forced because it doesn't have the school badge!! Cheeky so and so! It seems to wash fine though, which is good, as the school ones go bobbly really quickly.

AnnMumsnet · 24/09/2010 13:20

We're hoping to start the feedback thread soon captain..but are mindful fo folks who've had issues with deliveries. Will email you a link when it is ready and maybe you could copy&paste from this thread to the new one? Thanks so much.
