Asda is looking for 50 Mumsnetters to try out their Back to School uniform range. They've put in a lot of effort to make it hard-wearing, comfortable and easy to wash and iron and want to put it to the test on your child.

If you have a school-aged child or a child about to start school and would like to put the new range through its paces please add your details by clicking here.

You can select uniform for one child - we're sorry if this causes any problems for those with more than one school aged child but we wanted to ensure as many MNers as possible were able to take part.

You may select a t-shirt/ shirt pack, one trousers/ dress/ shirt and one jumper/ cardigan. The uniform will be worth up to £15.

If you are selected to test the uniform, your name, address and sizing/ clothing requirement details will be sent to Asda who will send you the uniform directly.

We will then need you and your child to try the uniform - really putting it through its paces, washing it, wearing it as usual then to add feedback on Mumsnet.

We'll want you to add feedback three times -

~ once when you first receive it

~ when it has been worn and washed once or twice and

~ lastly when it has been washed and worn a few times

Everyone who is selected for the test, and then offers three lots of feedback will be entered into a prize draw to where one winner will receive £200 of Asda vouchers.

Thanks and good luck. If selected you will be emailed confirmation and should receive uniform within 2-3 weeks.

Ours came this morning. Will report back later.

BuzzingNoise · 02/10/2010 10:52

The polos are impressive - especially considering they are only £2 for 2 when you buy them! They wash well and are keeping their shape.
I'm pleased withthe trousers too. They have a nice simple elasticated waist, with no fussy fastenings that a 3 year old can't work! They're lasting well too, although are getting a bit scraggy at the hem where DS walks on them (he doesn't pull them up properly after he's been to the loo!), but that can't be helped at all.
I wish my son's school sold badges that you could sew on as the Asda jumpers are lasting better than the actual school ones, which go all bobbly after three washed, and can't withstand a good rub with Vanish to get paint out of them!

ElizabethWakefield · 02/10/2010 11:03

I finally received the sweatshirt this morning, saying that they don't actually make it in the size I asked for (why give the option then??) so they sent it in the smaller size, with a note saying they will swap it for another colour if it is too small.

It is too small, but DD can't wear another colour to school, so no point in swapping!!

BuzzingNoise · 02/10/2010 11:08

oh dear. What size did you ask for?

ln1981 · 02/10/2010 16:38

I still have nothing! I almost caught the post as it fell through the letterbox as there was a lovely package-alas it wasnt for me!!! Sad

ElizabethWakefield · 02/10/2010 23:22

I asked for an age 10, but they sent an age 9.

tibni · 03/10/2010 22:19

Still nothing here

ilovesprouts · 04/10/2010 15:36

when does the feedback start

ln1981 · 04/10/2010 22:34

Is there still a few of us waiting?

ElizabethWakefield · 04/10/2010 22:40

I've also noticed that the skirt is a size too small as well. So basically only the polo shirts will fit.

Can I put the other things on ebay?? Grin

Scootergrrrl · 04/10/2010 22:41

Still waiting. Don't even want the uniform any more as I went out and bought the stuff - NOT from Asda! - three weeks ago. When, or if, mine ever arrives I think I will donate it straight to the spare clothes box at school.

CherryChapstick · 05/10/2010 22:27

Still waiting for a shirt.

tibni · 05/10/2010 22:31

nothing at all arrived here.

siblingrivalry · 06/10/2010 14:48

Well, I got mine but am very disappointed -glad I didn't have to pay!

The polo shirts are almost grey in colour and very thin/flimsy.
I got dd some of the grey cullottes, size 5-6 (she will be 6 in 3 weeks) and they totally swamp her, but aren't adjustable.

NoahAndTheWhale · 06/10/2010 14:51

DS's trousers are too big for him (both width ways which doesn't surprise me as he is thin. I did ask for adjustable waist but hey-ho but also length. He is 7 in November and about average height so not sure why 6-7 are too long).

Polo shirts are fine Smile. And we didn't get a jumper so can't comment on that.

tibni · 06/10/2010 15:49

Still nothing arrived here

aristocat · 06/10/2010 18:33

we are still waiting for the pinafore Sad ....... has anyone had their missing items sent?

DramaInPyjamas · 06/10/2010 21:22

I haven't recieved my missing bits yet..

I know it was a product test and that the uniform didn't cost me anything, but I hope that Asda don't take this long to dispatch items for their paying customers, cause I would be raging if I had to wait this long!

pooka · 06/10/2010 21:44

Received the polo shirts - girls. Scalloped collars.

The sizing is good. Accurate - they fit well without being too roomy or too tight.

My only reservation is that the fabric seems rather thin in comparison with that of the logo'd school polo shirts (which aren't compulsory).

I've washed them and just ironed them and the school ones. And the fabric is definitely of a lesser quality (though fair enough, they are cheaper - school ones cost £5.50). They also look a little grey rather than pristine white which given that they haven't been worn yet is a disappointment (though again, could just be my laundering skills).

pooka · 06/10/2010 21:46

And the school logo ones are £5.50 each.

Saying that, they last ages.

Scootergrrrl · 07/10/2010 12:37

Still nothing here. Anyone else?

Wallace · 07/10/2010 19:06

Received ours (minus cardi and skirt substituted for culottes)

Skirt(8-9) - rather long on 9yr old dd but she is a bit small. Looks nice and smart though.

Short sleeve shirts (8-9) - nice fit. look smart. top button a wee bit tricky to do up but sure that will improve with wear.

tibni · 07/10/2010 19:35

Still nothing at all.

smokinaces · 07/10/2010 21:44

we've had ours a few weeks now, and I'm becoming less and less impressed. The items still fit well, the trousers I will give 9/10 but the jumper and polos have faded sooooo much. The jumper is now very much a spare for dire disasters, and the polos are bottom of the pile - instead of a nice blue they are faded to a grey blue. and they all get washed together so its not like its my laundry. Marks and Spencers budget range winning hands down so far - and on their 3 for 2 theres no price difference, so cant see me swapping to Asda anytime soon.

FerrisBueller · 07/10/2010 22:15

DD has had a shirt and cardi (no skirt available).

she doesn't like the shirt so only wore it once, I quite like it though, nothing special but just an average school shirty sort of shirt.

The Cardi is nice and D has worn it alot - not to school as they have to wear school's own jumper - but out of school. It has washed nicely a couple of times and held its shape well.
