Chris Corcoran, presenter of CBeebies' Doodle Do will be joining us for a live webchat on Mumsnet on Friday between 1-2pm.

And, lovely chap that he is, he's recorded a special pre-webchat video for you to watch - see below.

To celebrate Children's Art Week (6-12 July), Chris has joined forces with Haliborange to host a series of exclusive creative master classes for its newly launched Shiny School. Chris has created three imaginative tutorials for Haliborange Shiny School, designed to suit ages 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12 years and needing no specialised or expensive equipment. The site gives parents ideas and tips on how to have fun and learn something new as a family, and also provides nutritional advice.

Chris is happy to answer all your questions (within reason!) during this sponsored chat, and will also be giving some creative inspiration for things to do with your children over the summer holidays.

If you can't make it on the day, please feel free to post your advance questions here.

I wonder if our mums felt this way about Tony Hart?

Oh no, I thought I was the only one who fancied Chris?

He has lovely hands.

Mr. Maker, though possibly the better artist (sorry, Chris) just doesn't have that same appeal, in a purely arty crafty sense, of course.

Chris, are you friends with Mr. Maker or bitter rivals?

I'd like to quiz Chris on his knowledge (or otherwise) of Miniature Schnauzers. . Unfortunately I don't know doodle-do about dogs.

Who cleans up the spiders after the show?

And what's with the worms in the box of sand? They're a bit rubbish, aren't they?

Otherwise, you and your show are very much better than Mr Maker and his annoying bloody cuckoo.

Well Chris, I think you're a thoroughly nice chap (but I'm sorry, I don't swoon - you're far too young for me). I just wanted to say I loved the way you talked to the spiders in Doodle-Do, and I used to take you as my ideal for how I dealt with dd. Thank you extremely much.

Did anyone else notice Mr Maker masquerading as a cyclist in Grandpa in my Pocket?

Jux · 09/07/2009 10:47

midnightexpress, dd used to love those worms!

I do love Chris's voiceover on the video. You can tell he is basically saying: "Well, it's a bit ... shit"

JackBauer: I understand your pain. I tried to post something wholesome on the Henry Winkler thread but every time I tried to say: "I really respect your input in this important area" it came out as: I WANT TO LIE ON YOUR NAKED CHEST AND LISTEN TO YOU TALK. In the end I gave up.

Oh all right then Jux. I take it back.

Everything that MP asked.

Are you a stand-up who can draw, or a rather funny artist?

Poor Chris... what is he letting himself in for?

Chris, if you are scared, you can come and hide at my house... we have an its and bits box

I'm actually a bit surprised that Mumsnet Towers have set this up, they must have known it would descend into filth!! Poor Chris, I think he's a brave man.

It's probably worn out.

Oops, sorry, BigTech broke it - probably in a fit of pique at me taking all the credit for putting it up there in the first place.

He says he'll fix it pronto - as long as I call him Clever Video-Embedding BigTech for the rest of the day...

Insightful questions...

Um. In this er era of recession, um what's going to happen to your attic? Will you have to downsize? Will that orange cheap as chips bloke be round poking about looking for things to sell from your attic? Is it all really Gordon Brown's fault or is he, you know, just a man albeit a slightly grey and uninspiring one?

Or...

If Stick spilt glue all over you, would you deign to take your top off? To music perhaps. And then you could spill more glue on your trousers...

Where was I?

I think I should go and lie down.

I had a career once. And a life. I hadn't heard of Doodle Do. The world was a terrible place back then.
