Chris Corcoran, presenter of CBeebies' Doodle Do will be joining us for a live webchat on Mumsnet on Friday between 1-2pm.

And, lovely chap that he is, he's recorded a special pre-webchat video for you to watch - see below.

To celebrate Children's Art Week (6-12 July), Chris has joined forces with Haliborange to host a series of exclusive creative master classes for its newly launched Shiny School. Chris has created three imaginative tutorials for Haliborange Shiny School, designed to suit ages 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12 years and needing no specialised or expensive equipment. The site gives parents ideas and tips on how to have fun and learn something new as a family, and also provides nutritional advice.

Chris is happy to answer all your questions (within reason!) during this sponsored chat, and will also be giving some creative inspiration for things to do with your children over the summer holidays.

If you can't make it on the day, please feel free to post your advance questions here.

Well done MNHQ.

I've no even vaguely intelligent or inspired questions to ask. I just had to say that I think Chris is fabulous. The ds's are a bit past Cbeebies now but I they still love Doodle do.

My all time favourite Doodle Do was the one in the snow and that fabulous song.

Stick's my favourite.

I'm far too old to get quite so excited by a children's programme

TheFool · 09/07/2009 14:06

what did the video say?!?!

Jux · 09/07/2009 14:07

@ midnightexpress

TheFool · 09/07/2009 14:10

They are spiders?!?!?!

Are you drunk when you film or do you just naturally talk to hand puppets with no trace of kids tv grin?

I think I would like the answers (and the video) to ShowOfHands questions. (ooooh SOH - shall we get demons in there too?)

Erm, I am just grinning insanely over this.

Who were the MNers that stalked you/him (depending on who is going to answer my question ) at a stand up show?

TheFool · 09/07/2009 14:12

I like the shape song where everyone else was round and the square was, well, square.

Mister Maker is a moron btw - he has nothing on you and I am Very Annoyed that my children don't see that.

SoupDragon · 09/07/2009 14:15

I can't help thinking this webchat would have been better scheduled for late evening...

SoupDragon · 09/07/2009 14:16

And, er, is it possible to have him answering the questions via a video link...? [hopeful]

TheFool · 09/07/2009 14:16

naked.

TheFool · 09/07/2009 14:17

I was just planning on getting pissed at lunchtime Soupy

morningpaper · 09/07/2009 14:17

perhaps with a strategically placed Prittstick?

SheikYerbouti · 09/07/2009 14:20

Do you remeber me? We had a chat in the glee Club in Cardiff about breast pads. Well, actually, my friend talked at you about breast pads and you just shifted uncomfortably from one foot to the other and I just looked on in a hammered type of fashion on account of the fact that I'd had a baby 4 weeks previously and my drinking stamina had been ruined.

SoupDragon · 09/07/2009 14:22

Pritt stick or a sti... no, I'll stop there.

[spoonerism]

SoupDragon · 09/07/2009 14:23

Or perhaps a strategically place glove puppet...

Do you think he's going to wimp out?

serenity · 09/07/2009 14:28

VIDEO!!!!!!

(please)

My lot don't even watch CBeebies anymore, but I'm still looking forward to tomorrow.

jemimacat · 09/07/2009 15:12

Oh I'm loving it!! The perfect antidote to PND

FenellaFudge · 09/07/2009 15:38

() () Hi Chris Corcoran from Doodle-Do!!!

I will be back with a question as soon as I can figure out how to change the following statement -

I love you. And your accent. And your big, chunky, manly arms.

  • into question form.
NorkyButNice · 09/07/2009 15:54

Fenella - did you just show Chris your norks?

Talk about lowering the (already gutter level) tone...

JackBauerDoodleDoes · 09/07/2009 15:57

Are you all aware that if you click on the Shiny School link there are videos of Chris 'doing' art things.

I seriously want to know if you actually liked art and crafty things all along or if you were offered a job on the show first?

bronze · 09/07/2009 16:04

this thread has had me in stitches.
I love watching Chris too but purely for humour reasons etc

I want to know did he realise that he seems to appeal to the mums maybe more than the children?

TheFool · 09/07/2009 16:21

Hang on - its just occurred to me that you ladies suggested a pritt stick?! How insulting must that be to the poor bloke? He would surely need one of those big bottles of paint or summat...

ShowOfHands · 09/07/2009 16:21

TheFool, I think an angel too for variety.

The links are somewhat tenuous but there's full frontal.

TheFool · 09/07/2009 16:25

Thinking the glove puppets turning evil?

ShowOfHands · 09/07/2009 16:28

Oh yes. Oh I hadn't thought of including a plot but yes, epic possessed glove puppet battle with exploding pots of glue and er, well yes, I'll try and expand on a plot as I'm writing the nudity.

Rhubarb · 09/07/2009 16:31

Didn't Chris Corcoran once make a patronising remark about a load of bored housewives on a parenting site fancying him?

notwavingjustironing · 09/07/2009 16:39

Just come back to this thread - I see it continued in a similar vein to when it started.

So Chris, to sum up, this is what you need to know:-

there are probably about 20 MN'ers lusting after you (apologies if I have missed anyone)

technically, we are not interested in spiders, paint, vitamins or glue

we need to see more "video" of you and...

oh go on then, I'll ask a sensible question.

Do you genuinely think that children benefit from taking vitamins such as Haliborange (I admit to giving them to my children)

and, more importantly, why do I spend half an hour getting the "craft" things out, covering half the kitchen with newspaper and shower curtains, only to have them spending precisely two minutes making an absolute mess and professing to be "finished" and "bored". Can you suggest what I am doing wrong? More input from me or less needed do you think?"

And apologies for my inappropriate comments. It's very hot round here at the moment. Thanks.
