Chris Corcoran, presenter of CBeebies' Doodle Do will be joining us for a live webchat on Mumsnet on Friday between 1-2pm.

And, lovely chap that he is, he's recorded a special pre-webchat video for you to watch - see below.

To celebrate Children's Art Week (6-12 July), Chris has joined forces with Haliborange to host a series of exclusive creative master classes for its newly launched Shiny School. Chris has created three imaginative tutorials for Haliborange Shiny School, designed to suit ages 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12 years and needing no specialised or expensive equipment. The site gives parents ideas and tips on how to have fun and learn something new as a family, and also provides nutritional advice.

Chris is happy to answer all your questions (within reason!) during this sponsored chat, and will also be giving some creative inspiration for things to do with your children over the summer holidays.

If you can't make it on the day, please feel free to post your advance questions here.

Good points nwji. I'd like to know if it was you, CC, who had the genius idea of sending someone else to film the real children doing the art, while you get to work with three rather compliant glove puppets, who do your bidding and never spill paint on your trousers.

I'd just like to say that I've only just seen this thread, but being on it late doesnt mean I dont love you less than these lot do . However, you are a bit young by my usual standards (how old are you actually?), so I'm happy to wait in line for a few years . Of course by then I'll probably like younger men

If you loved the spiders, you wouldnt continue to make them live up the loft would you? You'd want to share your home with them. So you're actally being mean, or lying to them about your feelings. A fatal flaw in the show concept.

"Didn't Chris Corcoran once make a patronising remark about a load of bored housewives on a parenting site fancying him? "

TBH, given the way this thread has gone, I think it was probably a fairly pertinent remark.

I thought of a fabulous question on my way to pick DD up from nursery but it's gone clear out of my mind.

HA he doesn't know about vitamins

He just wants to do funny gags and impress the laydeez

Haliborage are v. brave

(There is probably some poor bugger at Haliborage getting beaten over the head with a paper-plate while someone is screaming: "I TOLD YOU TO CALL MISTER TUMBLE YOU TWAT")

Rhubarb is right

he said you were all hormonal and bored

and of course everything you have said so far has blown this out of the water well done

I've always been concerned that if you did get intimately involved with him he would chirp "Doodle Do! That was fun" immediately post-coitus

Anyhooo - what about older children; there is stacks of stuff for the under 3s and anyway you just have to give them paint and stand well back

let's talk 4-9 years

and not SMART type stuff good grief 'let's punch a series of perfectly-placed holes in a cola can and then make Indian art with powder paint just before you send them off to art college

I need art for the utterly talentless

That was it! There was a thread about him waaay back and someone said he was interviewed and mentioned that on a parenting site he was a sex symbol to some hormonal and bored women.

I've searched for the original thread but can't find it, so I'm glad someone else remembers it. It was a very very patronising remark.

No doubt he only wants to come onto Mumsnet so he can have his ego massaged and stroked by all these hormonal and bored housewives

I prefer Sidney myself!

Yup, I can just see them all, on a Friday, hanging out in some grim and dirty bar getting absolutely sloshed and proclaiming their hatred of kids!

Not sure what is patronising about saying he is admired by bored and hormonal housewives. You could call that self-deprecation.

Can't believe I will be out tomorrow at the relevant hour, taking DD to a music class. Sigh.

I would be very happy to Doodle-Do you .

I think others may be ahead of me in the queue though.

Hi Corky, nothing at all to say about Doodle Do, my kids are far to old to have even seen it. I'd just like to say I love you and Rhod on a Saturday morning - I'm the one who prompted Rhod's rant about Twitter, and whose husband texted in the next week to say that he agreed.

And I'm the one who texted in about "politeness costs nothing but by 'eck it pays dividends" earlier this year.

Do you remember? Please don't let me believe that you read the texts out and then instantly forget them...

I've just thought of a genuine questions (well kind of).....
Does Justin et al actually operate the puppets or do they just do the voices and how do they see what their hands are doing??
Also - inspire me to get off mumsnet and do something crafty with my daughters (they're 1 and 3) - it must be something edible (teething 1 year old), easy to set up, easy to clear up and the least amount of mess as possible.
Thanks

btw - is this thread going to appear on the haliborange site like the cooking one already on there???

Please answer my question, it's very important.

Do you hate it when play dough/plasticine colours get mixed up and all you end up with is a mush of brown with occasional swirls of blue and green?

Apparently (i.e. according to Wikipedia) the chap that does Stick is the same chap that did George off Rainbow

which explains a lot

He must be about 80

Oh I like Chris, I'm a Welshie living in England and his voice makes me happy.

Right, here's my question (I am not a bored housewife, but I am hormonal). My mother-in-law used to work behind the scenes on Play School back in the day and sometimes they used to do filthy things with Hamble and co. Are there any silly out-takes of you with the puppets?
