I’ve been chatting to someone online for the past week, we have arranged to meet tomorrow, he’s just informed me he’s uploaded another photo of himself, as his others were not very clear and quite far away, my god he’s awful, I know looks aren’t everything but I just can’t meet him, Why couldn’t he have posted this one in the first place! He just looks so scruffy with a stubbly beard which I hate, his other photos are obviously older. How do I tell him I don’t wish to meet now? I feel a right cow but I just can’t meet him.

I'm envisaging someone who looks like this.

Hmmm, I disagree here. All decisions are a balance.

The conversations "weren't great" but it was OP's prerogative to see if things went better in person. Not all of us chat fluently by message or on a call.

Now that she is less physically attracted to him than she was, the balance has shifted away from 'well, it might be fine, I'll give it a go' to 'there's not enough here to make a date worthwhile'.

Drawing is hilarious. Some of the responses on here are nuts and explain why online dating is insane.
She agreed to an initial first date, not a marriage. They havent even met in person yet! A polite no thanks like OP sent him is more than sufficient. Why should she waste both their time if she already knows they're not compatible?
