Shit... 99% sure Guinea Pig is pregnant

Bit of a disaster... I lost one of my two lovely girls at the start of December. We were devastated, they were like two peas in a pod. I had a post on here at the time.

After just over a week I figured I needed to get another Guinea pig to keep my remaining one happy. Bought from a pet store as we don't have any rescues.... and I'm 99% sure the baby is pregnant 😡

Can't get her in to see the Vet until Tuesday morning.

She's had no vet care during pregnancy, haven't been feeding her any supplements. She was 8 weeks when she came to us, so young to be having babies. We've had her 55 days.

What the hell do I do now?

2 piggies isn't enough they like to be in a big group!

Waiting eagerly for the pictures of the babies. Don't know why but all baby animals are so cute... although mummy gp is very cute too.

I don't have any and couldn't really as dog would do everything is his power to chase and eat them but boy are they sweet/cute.

Ours always gave birth overnight, so we never witnessed anything, just got up in the morning to find 2/3/4/5 perfect little piggies already nibbling on hay.

I’m just here for the piggies. I used to have them when I was a child and we had a few litters.🥰 DH refuses point blank to let me have any - reckons the cats would get them.

My entire wellbeing is now riding on these babies! ❤️

The mad thing is that my older girl would absolutely have been fine on her own, she's cool as a cucumber and spends her time with us humans anyway.

She actually had a bit of 'walking dandruff' or Cheyletiellosis, which the vet treated this week. I had spotted a small patch behind the ear she can't scratch. Apparently many pigs carry this type of mite all the time with no symptoms but stress can exacerbate the issue. So she's been stressed...

So not only did I not need to get a new baby pig to keep her company, but it has stressed my older girl out and now I have a bunch more unnecessary pigs on the way!!!

Guinea pigs are not for the faint of heart I tell you! 😂

This has reminded me I have a Guinea Pig Play Pen I no longer need if it could be of any use..

My sleep has been broken all week, I keep waking bolt upright in the bed and running down the check on her. Was up 3 times last night, I'm knackered. You'd know I had anxiety issues 🙄

Probably! It'll be interesting to see what she makes of them, she's such a sweetheart but she's definitely 'the boss pig'

Don't be sorry, I'm delighted! I can't believe how many people have joined this thread (Id love to tag you all!) and are rooting for my little baby, it's lovely. The thought of putting a smile on everyone's face in the coming days is making me really happy!
