Shit... 99% sure Guinea Pig is pregnant

Bit of a disaster... I lost one of my two lovely girls at the start of December. We were devastated, they were like two peas in a pod. I had a post on here at the time.

After just over a week I figured I needed to get another Guinea pig to keep my remaining one happy. Bought from a pet store as we don't have any rescues.... and I'm 99% sure the baby is pregnant 😡

Can't get her in to see the Vet until Tuesday morning.

She's had no vet care during pregnancy, haven't been feeding her any supplements. She was 8 weeks when she came to us, so young to be having babies. We've had her 55 days.

What the hell do I do now?

Now that Toupee and Biscuit have names you just need to pick one for the third. I still vote for ginger.

Do you know their sex yet?

No official names as of yet except for Biscuit! Using Toupee and Not Toupee just as funny references... maybe they'll stick though 😅

Ah okay! I thought I missed it as I had in my head they’re confectionary themed! I’m sure it’s easier to name them once you’ve got to know their personalities

That's exactly it! I think we're pretty settled on Ginger, Nut and Biscuit... but I need to know who the nuttier of the two is first!

Olga da Polga is the guinea pig book character of choice! I think she was another Michael Bond creation.
I’ve just noticed that mother pig has a little white top not as well as toupee.

Unbelievable just how fully formed they are. Their eyes are open, they are fluffy.

Compared to puppies at this stage it's absolutely amazing.

Gorgeous baby pigs (and mummy and aunty) OP. Thank you for sharing the photos. Have to say I go almost as gooey eyed over aunty pig as the babies - she looks almost identical to one of mine!

It always amazes me how baby guinea pigs are basically born ready to go - tiny but perfectly formed! Please do keep us updated with more pictures from time to time.

ps you are keeping them all aren't you...wouldn't it be wonderful if they were all girls and then you could have a lovely little herd of five😍
