Shit... 99% sure Guinea Pig is pregnant

Bit of a disaster... I lost one of my two lovely girls at the start of December. We were devastated, they were like two peas in a pod. I had a post on here at the time.

After just over a week I figured I needed to get another Guinea pig to keep my remaining one happy. Bought from a pet store as we don't have any rescues.... and I'm 99% sure the baby is pregnant 😡

Can't get her in to see the Vet until Tuesday morning.

She's had no vet care during pregnancy, haven't been feeding her any supplements. She was 8 weeks when she came to us, so young to be having babies. We've had her 55 days.

What the hell do I do now?

Yours are so lovely and Auntie pig is helping out

hihimr · 18/02/2024 09:12

Oh my, they are gorgeous. Congratulations ❤️ they look so fully formed and big to have all fit in her tummy for so long! No wonder she was distended!

Pushkinini · 18/02/2024 09:12

Congratulations, gorgeous little piggies. Do you know what sex they are yet?

NewYearNewCalendar · 18/02/2024 09:12

Gorgeous!

Now you have a Guinea pig herd!

I need a Guinea pig herd…

(yes, yes “you’re not keeping them”)

BirthdayRainbow · 18/02/2024 09:12

What lovely news! Congratulations! Well done Mummy Pig!

GuppytheCat · 18/02/2024 09:14

Yes, their eyes will stay red (mum's eyes looked dark to me, so they clearly have their daddy's eyes, if it helps identify him for the Pig Maintenance claim).

Ithinkitstimeforbed · 18/02/2024 09:14

Oh that is all so lovely! Waddling, squeaking babies. Happy and hungry mum, doting auntie! Aw totally understand why you’re crying, give them all a big squish from us!

Meadowy · 18/02/2024 09:14

Congratulations!!! We've had baby pigs and they are the cutest thing. Amazes me how they come out as complete mini pigs all cooked and ready to go ♥️♥️

PossumintheHouse · 18/02/2024 09:25

Congratulations guinea pig grandma!

Now… stop kidding yourself. What are you going to name them? Will you be building a guinea pig extension?

TriceratopsRocks · 18/02/2024 09:26

Oh wow. They are so wonderful 😍 Please keep posting pics as they grow! Huge congratulations to mum, baby, auntie and to you.

kandylane · 18/02/2024 09:27

I've only just came across this thread, perfect timing!
They're so cute and now i want a guinea pig!

InAPickle12345 · 18/02/2024 09:28

Haha, at the moment, I definitely just want to wrap them up and mind them... I can imagine by the time they're ready to be rehomed, I'll be happy to see them going to loving homes and out of my own though! 😂

@gingeristhenewblack43 yes! We shall call the little blondie 'Biscuit'! ❤️

I bet you nine cucumbers and three bags of kale that you don’t rehome them.
