How do I remove sinister Santa outfit from a cactus?

My lovely sister got this little darling thing for my teenage son for Christmas. He loves it, as do I. However having gone way past 12th night we would now like to update his wardrobe/allow him to go 'au natural'.

Also he looks quite menacing and the other plants are a bit scared.

I've tried gently pulling the hat, no joy. I've tried tweezers on the grumpy eyes, I ended up with my other hand covered in prickles.

It is not glued on or secured by any other method I can see. Does anyone have any intimate knowledge on how to disrobe a festive novelty cactus?

Thanking you in advance.

Oh dear just listening to gardens questions on R4 they started by grumbling about artificial grass, then painted heathers, then said don’t get me started on people who stick baubles on cacti 😂

Get away. Really?

Perhaps I could appear as a panellist. With Goatboy and some nail clippers.

No he's too cute now.

Besides, that's my son's name. Could be confusing.

😂

Oh. My. God...

He'll be able to start a tiny new career as a cactus defestiviser with that lot!

Hang on...that means other than me, amd possibly you, there are FIVE whole other people on Earth who are trying to kick start a career change for their cactus.

Or hamster.

I didn't have one in my basket - so there's 6 others! You are not alone!

The custom nutcrackers in the reviews are glorious

You're not wrong.

I need to get him a new wardrobe. And a name. What do people call their cacti?

Mine's called Spiny Norman.

BouleBaker · 17/04/2023 06:39

My son has called his pet cactus..... Cacki.

The poor thing seems to be bearing up under the strain.

CwmYoy · 17/04/2023 09:13

This needs to go in classics.

That makes sense. Mine doesn't look like a Norman though.

Am inclined to stick with Pootle at this stage.

I remember some awful bloody cartoon called Cakki about a mischievous poo. Probably Spanish (they have form for mischievous poos. Especially at Christmas).

So now I have to go and check whether I imagined that instead of working. 😃

That's fine but I will have to procure several more cactus outfits for the inauguration.

In the reviews of the mini power tools - someone used chain saws on some custom made nutcracker!

Ok so which ones did you get?

YesitsBess · 18/04/2023 19:20

I'm glad you asked.

Nothing has arrived yet. So am currently allowing Pootle some unadorned sunshine time in order to prepare.

I'm also going to repot him. Because even though a PP said he might grow 3 feet high, bloom violently and then keel over isn't that how we all want to go?

Again...what now? I keep reading it and it keeps getting funnier with every version of those words I can imagine.
