To be traumatised by my own undercarriage?!

As I was wiping this morning it felt a bit sensitive down below which is unusual so I thought I’d have a look and see what’s going on.

WELL

I haven’t looked at my vulva since my second DC was born three years ago and dear god I will never look again. My poor vulva which, let’s be honest wouldn’t have won a beauty contest before but was perfectly serviceable and ‘normal’ looking’, looks like it’s been blended. Or put through a washing machine. I don’t think there is anything ‘wrong’ with it (infection, prolapse etc) but it looks awful. The labia are fine but inside there’s like a squishy circle (?!) that’s all flappy and messy with protruding skin. I actually almost felt tearful and hugely embarrassed that DH has seen it in all its messy glory.

Is this normal?! I’ve had two vaginal births. I don’t have any pain, might get some caneston in case of thrush but I don’t think there’s a medical issue it’s just a hideous mess. I had a smear recently and kind practice nurse didn’t say anything and I assume she would of I’d have had an abundance of genital warts/prolapse.

I was pleasantly surprised to see mine looks quite neat.
I wasn't brave enough to use the magnifying side of the bathroom mirror. I don't want to have nightmares 😅

Having seen pages of porn on the London Underground as a teenager I've always hated my vulva/labia so much that I had a labiaplasty. If women spoke more openly or I'd read a thread like this years ago, I'd never have wasted money on plastic surgery..

I’m the same . Had a labiaplasty age 20 . I ended up with PTSD from it that I’m still being treated for now - if I could go back in time I’m not sure I’d have done it .

I have a rectocele (sp) which I only got a couple of years after having Dd, now 4. I had stitches and forceps during birth.
I hate it! The doctors have just left it as it is 🤷🏻‍♀️It doesn’t cause me any trouble but I hate the feeling and mainly the way my bum hole feels now 🙈can’t really explain it, really slack and can’t poo properly, just feels weird! Does anyone else have it?
Always panicking my vagina is just going to one day fall out…I wouldn’t dare look at it up close

I've got a rectocele too! And a cystocele 😬 and slight uterine prolapse 😬😬 Re pooing, have you tried splinting for by putting your finger in your vag to guide the poo out? Some good groups on FB.

I'm 12w postpartum and mine looks like a war zone. I also had such a shit time healing that I started taking photos to monitor how everything was going, and now have a horrifying hidden album of up close fanny pics on my phone 😅

Omg, I have similar and my TV once got stuck on the setting where it displays photos at random when on screensaver mode, i was terrified what was going to come up!

I was making myself laugh thinking about that scene in the Wolf of Wall Street, where Margot Robbie's character is going on about "Mommy is just so sick and tired of wearing panties," and Leonardo DC is crawling lustfully along the floor.

Partly I'm just making myself guffaw at my vision of Leo DC gazing queasily at a knickerless dropped lasagne, and begging for those 'panties' to go the fuck back on, but mostly I want to see to see the Celeste Barber version.

The bladder prolapse can be a bit annoying as I sometimes can't fully empty my bladder but the rectocele doesn't bother me. It's sometimes quite funny because I can press on the pouch from inside my vag and it will make me do a massive fart! Was interesting when I had a diarrhoea bug too, a poo button 😂
Seriously though, if it's bugging you you could ask for referral to gynae to get a pessary fitted, or to women's health physio to improve it through exercises (not just kegels).

I've had c sections so no birth damage but mine has always been kebaby, not like the neat ones on porn..
