Just thought I'd better start a new thread for those of you who would like to see updates before the old one is totally full.

All still good here! I've been a bit low on iron but the tablets REALLY don't agree with me. So I've started just taking one in the morning with orange juice, and having a spoonful of Floridix in the afternoon and making an effort to eat spinach and red meat.
I've been feeling baby OMG moving around a lot more now he's getting bigger and stronger, which is lovely although slightly alarming at times!

We've probably got a maximum of 7 weeks to go now as I understand the drs are not keen for older mums to go much over 39 weeks. Eeeek.
Will keep you all posted.

@Omgwhatthehell I am a latecomer to your thread. Just caught up with old and new threads. What a lovely story, and how lovely it is for you to share it with us all. I'm so pleased for you and your husband. My friend had her first at 41 and second at 43, no problems whatsoever. Wishing you all the best in the next few weeks. 😊

I’m having a very chilled out weekend. I’m actually lazing about in our bedroom now with the cat as it’s the coolest room at home.

I am so clumsy at the moment. I managed to spill a bit of superglue down the bump this morning! (Don’t ask) So it’s probably for the best I take it easy.
DH and I went out for a lovely dinner yesterday, and otherwise he’s been cooking me some delicious but relatively healthy food. We’ve also done a bit of batch cooking between us and stocked the freezer up.

I just need to drag myself through the last few days of work next week. I’ll be WFH so it shouldn’t be too bad.
I might book a couple of treats for myself to celebrate going on maternity leave. Starting with a pedicure because I can’t reach my feet now!

@Omgwhatthehell I totally get the clumsy bit, I keep spilling things onto my bump. Inc spaghetti Bolognese sauce onto my white top and it has not washed out. 🙄I WFH and finish this week. I have been so unproductive today. Whoops. I've a few bits to get finished so need to get those done. I get DH to paint my toes.
I'm being induced this Thursday at exactly 38 weeks!!
Def book yourself some treats and enjoy the last of the baby free times. I did over the weekend with sleeping in and going on an impromptu day trip

@Irishfarmer DH has offered to paint my toenails, but I'm not convinced he'll do a very good job haha!
I slept in over the weekend too and it was heavenly.

@HannahSternDefoe I didn't have to resort to DH doing them as my absolutely lovely colleagues gave me a pedicure and manicure as a going on maternity leave gift! It's booked for early next week and I can't wait.

I'm struggling with the heat so am just going to try to stop cleaning things. I will try to take it easy now and do some nice things for myself.

I well up when I read this, can't believe we (ha!) are so close.

I’m finally on maternity leave. I spent a heavenly afternoon in a beauty place with air con yesterday. And today I’m not leaving home.
DH got me a fan at the weekend so I’m chilling out in front of that and doing very little.

I couldn’t sleep last night as I couldn’t get comfortable and was too warm. So I’m just resting at home today. I think I’ll have a siesta soon.
All is well otherwise but I will be glad to evacuate baby OMG in the hopefully not too distant future!

I also have a freezer full of cheap ice lollies from Iceland which are proving life saving!

Make the most of your maternity leave prior to birth (ie make the most of the peace!) 😀

I’m happy that the crazy hot weather has gone. I’ve been enjoying maternity leave so far and napping like crazy. I must have needed a rest.

No news yet I’m afraid @Heronatemygoldfish but I am ready to evict him! I feel so heavy and quite tired.

Enjoy the last few days of being pregnant, as hard as it is you kinda miss it.

I have an update!
My waters broke at 4am this morning at 39 +2. I called the delivery suite and they told me to come in. And I’ve been here since, being monitored. I’m just waiting to be induced.
We haven’t told any friends and family yet as I’d rather just let them all know when he’s safely delivered.
