Just thought I'd better start a new thread for those of you who would like to see updates before the old one is totally full.

All still good here! I've been a bit low on iron but the tablets REALLY don't agree with me. So I've started just taking one in the morning with orange juice, and having a spoonful of Floridix in the afternoon and making an effort to eat spinach and red meat.
I've been feeling baby OMG moving around a lot more now he's getting bigger and stronger, which is lovely although slightly alarming at times!

We've probably got a maximum of 7 weeks to go now as I understand the drs are not keen for older mums to go much over 39 weeks. Eeeek.
Will keep you all posted.

I have an update!
My waters broke at 4am this morning at 39 +2. I called the delivery suite and they told me to come in. And I’ve been here since, being monitored. I’m just waiting to be induced.
We haven’t told any friends and family yet as I’d rather just let them all know when he’s safely delivered.

I am also so very excited that you have told us, gosh I sound so sappy but it feels like a privilege to have shared in your nervous OMG, wtf in the very beginning (and knowing the time it took to get to that point) and now to know baby Brian is making an appearance.

@Omgwhatthehell my eyes actually filled up with tears reading this, I so happy for you! I've I've through the same then eventually got my little baby, so I know the feeling. Congratulations. I also clicked on your old thread and forgot that I had commented on that as well at the time, under a different username 😊

Oh and in regards to doctors not wanting older mums going much over their due date. They did the same with me, I was 39 when giving birth. They did so many blooming interventions, I wish I had said no, the midwives didn't seem happy with the medical decision either to induce me. I'm not saying that to sway you either way, but just make sure you do your research in advance, as I got a bit overwhelmed with it all.

Sorry, OP, just read your update. I had a sweep, the balloon and 2 pessaries and they still didn't work, it was a lot of waiting around in hospital for nothing! I'm glad things are on the move for you though! I can't wait to hear that baby is here!

Oh so exciting. I've been following since the start. Wishing you the very best for a smooth delivery. Not long to go until your little one is here. Will be thinking of you. The post birth tea and toast will be the best you've ever tasted
