Help me - I’m trapped in a Seasalt jumpsuit

FitYeDaeinYeMadRadge · 11/07/2021 16:57

It’s the Treen Cove one, I’ve lusted after it since Siobhan wore it on Pottery Showdown. It went on with no issues, looks lovely, fits well and is flattering but…..

I’m stuck in the bloody thing. It’s been an hour and I can’t even free an arm despite unbuttoning it down as far as it will go.

Has anyone got this jumpsuit? Can you give me any tips on how to get out of it? I reckon I have about 2 hours before I need the loo.

Perhaps I should have gone for a size bigger for wiggle room knowing what I know now. I’m just going to post myself down to Seasalt HQ and let them deal with it.

@Jennyw12

I have to do the same thing but what do you do if no-one’s around?
Without someone around, I wouldn’t risk wearing one that I had trouble getting out of.
Jennyw12 · 16/07/2021 16:26

@Blowingagale

My downfall are Indian tops. Even the large ones are designed with slim arms in mind.
I share your problem. As another post says I could only wear that if there was someone in the house to grab hold of the hem while I bent over and backed out of it. But what do you do if you're on your own?
TotoAnnihiliation · 16/07/2021 21:16

I've googled the jumpsuit and have fallen in love with it. Does seasalt fit true to size?

Pleased to hear you have escaped OP.

True to size, often large for size

Was true to size for me.

Oh god, I've just had a flashback to Karen Millen changing room and a sequinned top that went on fine, then all the sequins went crazy and stuck out rendering it a suit of armour.

TotoAnnihiliation · 17/07/2021 00:12

Thank you @AnnieSnap @DeRigueurMortis

I have the same problem with sequinned tops. How did you get it off?
Jennyw12 · 17/07/2021 09:57

I love sequinned tops when I get them on but they can be a real pain to get off over my head. The sequins tend to catch in my hair and I'm stuck. Where are husbands when you need them?

Chemenger · 17/07/2021 10:11

I remember being trapped in a dress in M&S. it was a style that would have worked well in a stretchy fabric but they’d made it in one with no give. Got it on but couldn’t get it off. The fitting room seemed to shrink round me and I got sweaty. Luckily DD was with me and she managed to pull it off. I looked it up online and every review mentioned how hard it was to get off. They slashed the price in the sale but I imagine many of them ended up being cut up to let people escape.

I got my tights stuck in zip up boots I was trying on in Debenhams (RIP)
A lovely assistant bundled me into the stockroom as I was a long way from a changing room and sent someone for new tights. The “someone” came back and refused to hand them over until I went to a till and paid. Lovely assistant told them not to be so bloody stupid.
I did buy both tights and boots

I was at a conference once and after a black tie dinner I had a knock on my door and it was one of the senior (female) managers. She was in the room down the corridor and as I was the nearest other female, she asked if I could unzip her dress. With hindsight I think she only meant a bit but I pulled it right down and the zip went past her (naked) bottom and then fell off the (naked) front too so she was kind of clutching around her body while shuffling back to her room.
We never spoke of it

TSSDNCOP · 17/07/2021 12:35

@Jennyw12 in the end I had to wiggle it downward. I was sweating and that made it even harder. No way could I get it up and over. It was the sequin equivalent of Ross's leather pants.

Jennyw12 · 18/07/2021 10:32

Went for a jog yesterday despite the heat but my sports bra glued itself to me and I got totally stuck trying to get it off over my head. Any tips on what to do when that happens?

Lavenderpillow · 18/07/2021 13:54

@Hoppinggreen ‘we never spoke of it’ LMAO!

66babe · 18/07/2021 17:37

Scissors @Jennyw12 scissors !!!!
😂😂😂

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 18/07/2021 19:57

Interesting story on a bit of a tangent but I once got a snake stuck in my top!

TSSDNCOP · 18/07/2021 20:12

@MyGhastIsFlabbered when you say a bit of a tangent, that's a whole different angle on the protractor!

Explain immediately!

Crystal8559 · 18/07/2021 20:31

No help at all since you are stuck but for fab jumpsuits that you can easily get in and out of in a range of styles, colours and length fittings try Kim & Co at Qvc, they wash well and are comfy, don’t crease either. Also I’ve had my first one for four years and it still looks brand new despite being worn and washed a lot. So if you’re not totally traumatised put off jumpsuits by now give one a go, you have a 60 day money back guarantee too even if you wear them a number of times.

Therewere5inthebed · 18/07/2021 21:08

Nothing to add but I’m nominating this thread for classics, it’s had me crying with laughter.

66babe · 18/07/2021 21:26

Snake ????? This just gets better and better 😂

TSSDNCOP · 18/07/2021 21:38

Yep, snake. See now we must be heading for Classic surely Grin

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 19/07/2021 07:18

Sorry, I posted that then got distracted & forgot to follow up. I went to an animal park years ago and was wearing a crocheted top. They were letting people handle the snakes and one was merrily slithering around my neck. It decided to slither through one of the holes only it couldn't go all the way because it was too big. It got stuck because of how its scales were lying and could neither go forwards nor backwards. In the end they had to snip my top to free it.

I still have that top and every time I see that cut it makes me smile!

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 19/07/2021 16:27

Poor snake, did it stay calm? I assume that the bitey end was stuck inside your top? Not comfortable for either of you I imagine. Grin

woodhill · 24/07/2021 17:02

@DeRigueurMortis

Thanks for your inspiration on this thread

I went for it and ordered a jumpsuit from Seasalt and it seems to fit. I really like it

DeRigueurMortis · 24/07/2021 17:11

@woodhill

Which one did you go for?

Grin I'm wearing mine now!
