I bloody love a nice hotel. What is your favourite hotel you’ve stayed in?

Mine would be:
Crowne Plaza Changi (Singapore) and got upgraded to the roof terrace suite. Absolutely loved it.
The Langham Hong Kong and stayed in the junior suite!

Has anyone stayed at Kandalama in Sri Lanka?

Cecillie · 06/07/2021 22:22

The calabash in Grenada , so special

Inastatus · 06/07/2021 22:22

Damn you OP, I NEED A HOLIDAY!!

KingscoteStaff · 06/07/2021 22:24

The Calabash in Grenada.

queenatom · 06/07/2021 22:24

@Jaxhog the Kandalama is such a cool place, feels like you’re totally surrounded by nature!

AnneElliott · 06/07/2021 22:25

Anantara Palazzo Naiadi Rome Was lovely. Amazing food - drinks in the bar were pricey though.

Stayed in a lovely hotel in Hawaii as well but can't recall the name if it.

Pekkala · 06/07/2021 22:26

Hotel National de Cuba, Havana. Tatty round the edges, oozes history and charm.
The View, Monument Valley, US. Drive round the monuments as the sun goes down, eat marvelous stodgy frybread, marvel at the 'big sky'.

jaundicedoutlook · 06/07/2021 22:27

Grand Tremezzo on Lake Como. Oberoi Lombok. Would cheerfully bite your hand off to be back in either right now.

goldpendant · 06/07/2021 22:27

Ooh @queenatom you lucky thing. It's next on my list. That and the Lake Palace!

BarkingUpTheWrongRoseBush · 06/07/2021 22:28

The Corinthia in London. Stayed there on its soft opening weekend….so quiet, huge beds…

Hermitage inn on Nevis. Lots of separate houses, monkeys on the lawn, we were the only people there for a couple of the days. Very high staff to guest ratio!

Jaxhog · 06/07/2021 22:28

@goldpendant

Has anyone stayed at Kandalama in Sri Lanka?
Yes, we have. Absolutely fabulous (and cheap!)
ClosdesMouches · 06/07/2021 22:31

In a previous job I stayed at some amazing hotels for work:

Burj al Arab, Dubai. Very soon after it first opened.Hated it, a bit fur coat and no knickers for my taste. I preferred Le Royal Meridien.
Ritz Carlton, Dubai in the Club level, circa 2005 was superb. No idea what it's like now.
Ritz Carlton and Mandarin Oriental Singapore, loved both.
Ritz Carlton, Montreal.
Cape Grace, Cape Town.

For city leisure travel I'm very fond of Four Seasons, favourites being George V Paris and Hong Kong.

A fabulous family resort halfway between Miami and Fort Lauderdale is Acqualina Resort. It's lovely for couples too.

I miss travel...

Passthesauce · 06/07/2021 22:31

Hyatt, Hua Hin. Rooms were nice but the pool was AWESOME!

Bearsbearsbears40 · 06/07/2021 22:32

The Fairmont Singapore is my favourite, but I’ve also stayed in a Holiday Inn in Singapore (with free upgrade) and the service at both has been second to none (as has the air con!!).

Womendohavevaginasnick · 06/07/2021 22:32

A travel lodge 🤣 too stingy

FanSpamTastic · 06/07/2021 22:33

This place in Positano - Agave.

Devpatelslaughingeyes · 06/07/2021 22:33

Oh my gosh, difficult to choose, The Hilton Bora Bora (overwater bungalow) or The Felix in Kanchanaburi where we thought we had arrived in paradise. Toss a coin - both fabulous in different ways.

ReginaaPhalange · 06/07/2021 22:34

Hotel kuu in Kyoto was beautiful for the traditional decor etc

Joolsin · 06/07/2021 22:34

Das Tegernsee in Bavaria - stunning breakfast terrace with views over the lakes and mountains.
