We pay a company to clean our bins once a month on bin day. I’m not usually home when they come, but I’m off work today And happened to be in the kitchen. I watched my next door neighbour wait until the cleaner left, take the house number sticker off my bin and put it on his, then swap our bin for his so he had the cleaned bin and I had a non-cleaned one.

He was back in his house before I had time to contain the dog and go outside but now DH is home, WIBU to go round and ask for my bin back??

@MrsMackesy

I bet they are wheelie embarrassed.
Can't see how they could have bin anything but
KarlUrbansWife · 28/06/2021 20:51

Shamelessly peacemaking because I have just come across this thread and NEED to know what happened! Grin
It's unbelievable!

JackieWeaversAuthorityHere · 28/06/2021 20:51

DH is home WITH THE BIN. Victory is ours!

Apparently he made a half hearted attempt to argue that ‘wheelie bins are council property not personal property’ but apparently DH asked whether that meant he was allowed to steal our cleaned bin and he said ‘its not stealing, it’s not your bin!’ Hmm

When they were standing outside, DH was asking them to remove their bag of rubbish from the bin so he could take it back. Binstealers wife said DH was being petty and to just leave the bins how they were. DH said he’d be happy to, but she needed to pay us the £9 for the bin cleaning or come over with her marigolds and get scrubbing Grin

I love that man I do. He’s extremely pleased with himself and I’ve not seen him this cock sure for years!

Yes and you pay your council taxes to have them collected. You also sometimes pay for your bins. So actually fuckwit, it's mine.

He's not the sharpest tool in the box is he.

Timeforabiscuit · 28/06/2021 20:53

AMAZING!!!

Well played @JackieWeaversAuthorityHere DH!

Garraty47 · 28/06/2021 20:53

Classic Tory behaviour from ndn Angry

xprincessxjanetx · 28/06/2021 20:53

Well done to your DH! Honestly, the cheek of their response WTAF! Regardless of whether the bins are council property or not they still stole from you because they took it after you paid money for it to be cleaned, so they essentially tried stealing your £9!

I would be fuming.

MrsMackesy · 28/06/2021 20:53

I hope they're not refuse-ing to give it back.

TheGumption · 28/06/2021 20:53

😄😄😄 hurrah!!!

BlessedBeTheFruitandNut · 28/06/2021 20:54

@MrsMackesy hot water cleans better than cold. Shows a good job done.

MotherofPoodles · 28/06/2021 20:54

Can you imagine having a brain that would even come up with the idea to swap them.

LittleMissNaice · 28/06/2021 20:54

I think you need to email the chair and clarify council policy regarding bin ownership ...

toiletbrushholder · 28/06/2021 20:54

Your DH is a hero 😆👍🏼

bigeyedfrog · 28/06/2021 20:54
