To go round?

We pay a company to clean our bins once a month on bin day. I’m not usually home when they come, but I’m off work today And happened to be in the kitchen. I watched my next door neighbour wait until the cleaner left, take the house number sticker off my bin and put it on his, then swap our bin for his so he had the cleaned bin and I had a non-cleaned one.

He was back in his house before I had time to contain the dog and go outside but now DH is home, WIBU to go round and ask for my bin back??

OP posts:

On each bin, on the left hand side in white, there are numbers. When we had our bins, 2 guys came round and checked the numbers. These are then registered to your address. The cheeky sod. I would definitely go round and tell him.

Runmybathforme · 29/06/2021 17:42

Please, please let us know what happens.

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/06/2021 17:44

I’d do it a tacky barbie pink & do little love hearts all over it.

Happyd · 29/06/2021 17:44

Don't say anything and record him next month.. and put it in social media tagging him !!! Cheeky fucker

Hertsgirl10 · 29/06/2021 17:46

Can’t trust a Tory 😂

Why have you not sold this to the sun 😂😂😂

Melitza · 29/06/2021 17:47

We started paying for bin cleaning when we moved house and the previous occupant had left the bin so filthy I thought I would vomit.
My dsil recommended a company and they are brilliant.

GabriellaMontez · 29/06/2021 17:47

Wow. Cf award goes to your neighbour. And man of the match to your dh!

soulandcats · 29/06/2021 17:49

Wow! What a sly, sad bugger. I'd be tempted to try and get footage of him doing it again and splash it over socials.

Itwasgoodwhileitlasted · 29/06/2021 17:53

This story will be in the papers tomorrow. I can't wait. We'll done OP and OPs husband. What a hoot!!

mummybean84 · 29/06/2021 17:53

I wonder if he in fact changed the the numbers before the bins were cleaned (so that it was in fact his bin that was cleaned). I say this because it seems like a lot of effort to go to to simply take a slightly cleaner bin. BUT if he noticed his own bin had a problem (maggots etc 🤢) rather than deal with it himself of arrange a clean he might have though he could just swap the numbers for a day and make use of your scheduled clean. Either way it is an unbelievable cheek!!

Flossatops · 29/06/2021 18:01

Cheeky sod! You have to let him know or he'll just keep on doing it. Great idea to paint number on your bin. This site is so bad for my blood pressure 😡

Not here there aren't. I suspect that that's just your local council. Nothing at all identifies one bin from another unless the householder writes on it.
Bleachmycloths · 29/06/2021 18:07

Pity you didn’t take photos or video it

LoverOfAllThingsPurple · 29/06/2021 18:13

Please give your hubby a high five from me!!! Nicely done!! Well done for standing your ground too OP!!! I think a drink is due for both of you!!

I can’t believe the cheek of your neighbours either!!!!

lastcall · 29/06/2021 18:14

I'd tell them you have them on a doorbell camera doing it and you'll post it all over social media if they do it again.

CurryLover55 · 29/06/2021 18:15

Cheeky bugger!

Anonmummyoftwo · 29/06/2021 18:24

I’d have a word with the bin cleaners aswell and ask they leave the bin i your garden if your not in just explain the situation or if you have a ring doorbell thing have it pointed at the bins. Cheeky sod and his wife tryin to talk there way out of it. God only knows how many times he’s did this and at £9 a pop he could owe you a good bit. Bet he can’t count on your vote lol

mylifestory · 29/06/2021 18:25

I'd go round and change the bin back exactly as he did and make a hell of a noise so he wd see u doing it!!

hellogem · 29/06/2021 18:26

😂 absolutely brilliant!!!! Well done to your DH!!!

So glad you got your bin back! The cheeky beggar! I would tell your bin cleaners next time to go knock on his door as he's interested in having his bins cleaned
