Disclaimer - I love animals and im fascinated by them! But truly some have an aura of menace about them...
To start, I give you the Shoebill Stork. Not dangerous or anything but...disconcerting.

Hairless cats - just looks sore and itchy

Had a friend on social media recently share a before, during and after pic of her sons lizzard shedding its skin. Aww man, eating my tea, I don’t need to see shit mind that….

AuntMasha · 23/06/2021 14:36

Human Beings. Creepiest animal ever.

Rockhopper81 · 23/06/2021 14:49

@TulipWoodpecker - nope, leopard seals are as nasty as they look, their only natural predator is the orca, and they hunt other seals.

Having met a sloth, they're are as dopey as you'd expect - agree they're a bit weird, but generally quite sweet. Manatees are awesome - I've met them too - and are actually quite cute, except for the babies, which are exceedingly cute! Dolphins were a lot bigger than I think I had anticipated, and I'm not entirely sure they're trustworthy, but they're kind of sweet to look at.

I agree about angler fish, they're just the stuff of nightmares.

Naked/hairless anything - mole rat, cats, rats, dogs; I'm sure some of them are lovely, but they look like they'd be eager to prove that being hairless doesn't make them weak, and I just can't get on board with that energy.

@ComDummings

Sloths. They make me uncomfortable. I think it’s the way they move.
Exactly what I was going to say. Those long arms with big claws that move creepily slow, and their faces are pretty creepy too.
LadyR77 · 23/06/2021 14:50

Came on to say shoebill storks and aye-ayes, but have been beaten to it!

Also, generally any fish/creatures that live in the deepest depths of the ocean are super creepy and weird.

MikeWozniaksGloriousTache · 23/06/2021 14:55

Tortoises. I don’t know why but I can’t look at them they make me really uncomfortable. Especially when they’re on daft shows like you’ve been framed and humping shoes and making that little “ehh” noise … blerhh

Soubriquet · 23/06/2021 15:01

Naked mole rat

They way they live is amazing..but they are still creepy looking animals

RubyGoat · 23/06/2021 15:04

The Magnapinna / Bigfin squid. Rare & very alien looking.

Soubriquet · 23/06/2021 15:05

Remind me of 'plague Doctors'!

Coconut crabs 🤢 they make me feel sick.

A lot of these animals look very pre-historic. Like they shouldn't still be here, and the fact that they are is creepy.

Googling dik s'ils led me to discover the gerenek, which has absolutely mad legs

DysmalRadius · 23/06/2021 15:18

Harpy Eagles. What are they plotting?

TulipWoodpecker · 23/06/2021 15:19

I've seen some dogs on Facebook videos that have unnaturally short spines - they seem happy enough but bloody hell they look strange...

@DysmalRadius - agreed, and as for the SIZE of the buggers...up to 3.5 feet tall!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 23/06/2021 15:21

Sphinx cats. Always look evil to me.

CurryLover55 · 23/06/2021 15:21

Those cats ( not sure of breed) with really evil looking faces.
Hairless cats
Another vote for moths. Apparently there have been sightings of one that is about 2 feet long! Fuck that!

LittleRa · 23/06/2021 15:22

This is the one I came on to say!! Can’t believe it took to page 4 to be mentioned.

More giant birds - condors, particularly Andean and Californian. Huge, ugly, scary. Just no.

Ewanispurple · 23/06/2021 15:24

@TulipWoodpecker I couldn't resist but google, they are terrifying! Confused

Soubriquet · 23/06/2021 15:27

I’m not going to post a picture of this but it really creeps me out. I’m sure most people of heard of huntsman spiders and how big they get?

Well…they like to carry their babies around too. So you seen a giant huntsmen and then thousands of babies with her. Creeps me out everytime
