Next door's -thug- cat

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 20/04/2019 12:35

Has started coming in our house and stealing cat food.
Our cats dislike him. (understatement...)
Once he's in it's a problem removing him because he growls, hisses and then attacks us (launches at our legs etc).
He spends an inordinate amount of time in our garden or staring in through the French windows. Any suggestion how to gently discourage him? I have no intention of having outside doors shut for the whole summer.
Enclosed a picture of him sitting on our outside table.

I can imagine the poor little mite thinking “maybe if they accept my humble offering they will accept me”. It’s all very Christmassy and ‘no room at the inn’ and all that

Grin Yes! TC’s Christmas performance! I love this interpretation Grin

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 10/12/2019 09:42

After TC's visit to the back door this morning his attention was caught by some ducks on the backwater. Cue skulking cat.

Now if only 'the helpless scrap of fur' Shock were to bring me gifts of duck for Christmas...

For anyone worried - no ducks were injured during (or after) these photographs.

Holly molly, that fat fluffy belly Xmas Shock

Supersimkin2 · 10/12/2019 10:14

He might bring you a goose if he had a kitchen table to put it on...

Please note I made no comments this time about his rotundity. I think the photo speaks for itself Grin.

Unflattering camera angle. Poor TC. Shunned, framed and defamed.

Lellochip · 10/12/2019 12:07

He's got a similar physique to mine... I believe the medical term, as used by my vet was "lovely curves" Grin

AllYouGoodGoodPeople · 10/12/2019 12:16

Is that a chicken I see behind him? How does he get on with his chicken friends?

AnniePankettonne · 10/12/2019 13:37

He is biding his time .

I do love it when you are TC’s spokesperson YetanotherSpartacus Grin TC is stretching in the other photo to look leaner. It is a bit like me holding my tummy in when photographed.

We all know that the camera adds 10 pounds. Poor little TC.

LITTLE [Grin]

This is the anthesis of lots of other MN posts. Grumpy is being gaslighted into accepting a c*lodger into her house, even though he is not nice to her other cats and cannot support himself financially.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 11/12/2019 09:40

I thought Grumpy was a he and I reckon TC could bring home the bacon rabbits, ducks, other birds, rats, mice, voles, small puppies. :)

AnniePankettonne · 11/12/2019 09:50

Hay . it's MN ..all into self ID on here !
I have no idea what I am .

nettie434 · 11/12/2019 10:03

I had not thought of that Blush. Sorry for any misgendering. I like the plan for Grumpy to become self sufficient through TC’s hunting YetAnotherSpartacus.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 11/12/2019 10:39

Is that a chicken I see behind him?

For some reason, I keep reading this in Macbeth's voice.

Yes that was a chicken you saw behind him. And despite the fact that TC could probably kill all the pretty chickens and their dam in one fell swoop, he leaves them alone.
Continuing the literary theme (and I blame @YetAnotherSpartacus for this) I now keep thinking of Isaiah's suffering servant,
'He was despised, and rejected. A cat of sorrows and acquainted with grief'.

On that basis TC is now greeted with a Handellian aria whenever he appears. Maybe that will put him off?

And to confirm - yes I'm a he, and no offence taken at being misgendered - I'm still trying to work out how to 'woman up' as a previous poster suggested I should.

DW thinks I waste far too much time on this site. She has a point Grin

I'm an atheist and I actually went to look that verse up believing it really did say cat :(. But yes, it suits TC :) although a DA DA DA DUM! would be a better musical introduction I think. Now, for some reason, I have an urge to watch The Goodies 'The Music Master'.

In advance - we need another TC thread when this one fills up :)

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 11/12/2019 11:40

The most rational reason for being an Atheist is that cats don't get a mention in the Bible. Clearly something wrong there.

OP posts:
YetAnotherSpartacus · 11/12/2019 11:52

OTOH I do believe that they are mentioned in the Hadith.

I love the name Muezza for a cat and love the story about how Mohammed cut his sleeve off rather than disturb a sleeping cat.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 11/12/2019 12:00

Love that story too - and I've always tended to assume that's why cats have not been systematically mistreated in Muslim countries in the same way that they have at times in the West.

AnniePankettonne · 11/12/2019 12:00

Grumpy would do that for TC [tcgrin]
