Has started coming in our house and stealing cat food.
Our cats dislike him. (understatement...)
Once he's in it's a problem removing him because he growls, hisses and then attacks us (launches at our legs etc).
He spends an inordinate amount of time in our garden or staring in through the French windows. Any suggestion how to gently discourage him? I have no intention of having outside doors shut for the whole summer.
Enclosed a picture of him sitting on our outside table.

Oh my he is a magnificent beast.Grin

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 03/05/2019 21:03

Weather has been a bit dodgy today so windows and doors have been shut.
I almost felt sorry for him (not) looking in at us.

I think we can safely say he’s not thinking charitable thoughts

QueenOfIce · 03/05/2019 21:23

He's plotting your demise, you must open your window and welcome him in. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer and all that. Just don't leave your knives out Grin

hugoagogo · 03/05/2019 21:40

I am obsessed with this cat now. He is so majestic. My cat is a weedy little girl cat who i will forsake for this supurb mammal.

Minkies11 · 03/05/2019 21:45

I have two Bengal boys - oh my poor neighbours Blush
They are both very wary of anyone but DH and I but extremely curious about other people's houses. A strange mix!

BurnerPhone · 03/05/2019 21:48

He's so big! My toddler is obsessed with cats, if only he wasn't so grumpy as I reckon he could have a ride on his back

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 03/05/2019 21:51

You're off his Christmas card list, OP. That pissed-off look is quite something.

While it would probably do irreparable damage to our excellent neighbourly relations - you are welcome to come and kidnap him. Grin
Personally I think Basil is more magnificent than him anyway (gratuitous Basil pic enclosed)

See - that snake eyes is what my NdN cat was doing to me when I was measuring my door .

Are they psychic? Is he thinking "Soooo neighbour , you are plotting to turf me out of your garden? I shall wreak havoc and pooh on your garden chairs"

I have no proof but I think he has:

poohed on top of my recycle bag
poohed in one my my plant pots and left it defiantly
left a chewed up rat on the path for me

Grumpy you will find a (small) horses head on your bed .

YetAnotherSpartacus · 04/05/2019 14:44

Who will look after Basil, Sybil and the kit kats when Thug Cat enacts his dastardly plan? Does Thug have an actual name?

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/05/2019 14:51

Asbo 2?

YetAnotherSpartacus · 04/05/2019 14:55

Yeah well, I was wondering that but I was too polite to say anything.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 04/05/2019 17:28

Terrorist Cat does have a name but in the interests of security (I don't use my cats' names as passwords but I know some people do) I do not feel at liberty to reveal it.

You will all be pleased to hear that no small horse's heads have turned up yet... I'm relying on my cats to protect me - I think they know on which side their bread is buttered Grin

I'm actually convinced Lennie was sticking his tongue out him this morning.

Is Lennie's tail fuzzed or is it always like that?

We need a name for Thug Cat Asbo is taken already Any ideas? I'd suggest Ronnie or Reggie ...

BurnerPhone · 05/05/2019 13:01

More photos of ALL the cats required

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 05/05/2019 20:15

Spartacus
That's Lennie's tail in normal mode - all my current cats have bottle brush tails. See attached pic.

In terms of naming the beast - how about TC? Could stand for Thug cat or Terrorist cat and he clearly thinks he's Top cat.

Look, I can see The Floor so you've got Room For More ..... you need to adopt TC and just let him move in with y'all .

Your cats won't mind (much)
TC might reform .......................................... ?

Your lovely bottle brush tailed cats look like they could hook the tails round your ankle and fell you as you walk past Grin

YetAnotherSpartacus · 06/05/2019 12:59

TC is perfect!

All the cats involved are gorgeous :)

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 07/05/2019 09:47

Doors and windows closed this morning.

Sitting in the living room and noticed this at the window. Grin

You have to admire his determination. I don't think you're going to win this battle!

OneMoreWish · 07/05/2019 09:55

I've just found this thread and love it! I had a cheeky cat who loves going into my neighbour's garden and house - and she was a dog walker and always had dogs around! Used to send the dogs wild until they got clips round the ear from my cat who then ruled the roost in that house as well as my house!

Love your updates and pics x

mummyhaschangedhername · 07/05/2019 11:05

Haha ... loving this thread. I'd go hose pipe if you want him gone, I had a cat like that once, had to use oven gloves to pick him up and he was vicious 😂 I have an outdoor cat and an indoor cat, my outdoor cat I've told neighbour to use a hose pipe is she annoys them, think most are happy she's decreasing the rat population though (although I have no idea where she has left the one I saw her carrying yesterday 🙈)

Bookworm4 · 07/05/2019 11:26

Just read this post and I'm loving TC, although Im a doggy person(owned by 3) I am laughing away at this cheeky chancer 😂
Could Big Chancer be a possible name?
I think he's lonely and is in his own way trying to befriend you and your gang 😉

wheresmymojo · 07/05/2019 12:43

We have a thug now too...he (she?) has decided our garden is his territory. Our four cats are varying degrees of displeased.

Our smallest (she's only 2.9kg) has flown at the patio hissing and wailing with arched back and all fur stuck out.

Our largest (8kg!) cried and slunk away and then squeaked at me to ask why the new cat wasn't his friend.

Anyway this is ours...having been chased by me trying to explain to it that while I love cats and mean it no harm it really will have to stay out of the garden for the sake of my brood's collective sanity.
