Anyone lost this? On my backstep if it's yours!

So. Just come in through my back gate to find this on my doorstep....anyone missing a pigeon? Not your average bird, well looked after, has got ring etc but bloody thing won't let me get close enough to get details.

It's currently attacking my pots in hope of food. Am assuming due to high winds been blown off course and is knackered. I have chucked some food out on back step (randomly had some milled linseed in...once a Girl Guide, always a Girl Guide Grin) and shut in Sassycat (cos that wouldn't end well...I'd be hoovering up feathers for weeks!!!)...

So...anyone think they've lost something today? Or have suggestions of what I could do with it? Confused

I know, ((((((((((((Hugs))))))) You
yes a last call to the Owner just to hear thoughts.

I'm sure she is happy, wherever she is.

EvilDoctorBallerinaDuck · 18/06/2017 10:24

I'm sure she's fine. 💚

Still no news. Didn't get chance to msg her owner the other day but will set a reminder to do so tomorrow....

Fingers crossed.

NachoAddict · 20/06/2017 00:27

Was so hoping she had made it home safe!

TheMaddHugger · 20/06/2017 15:59

Did you manage to get hold of the Owner again ?

((((((((((Hugs))))))))))

SassynSane · 20/06/2017 19:15

Hi Madd (& anyone else who's still hoping), heard back from her owner just now and he confirmed she never returned. I think the best we can hope for is that she's joined a pigeon commune under a bridge somewhere and is enjoying her freedom!

I guess we'll never know...but for bringing a random group of people together who invested in her story and were rooting for her, and for making me and my DD smile, I'll always be grateful that she ended up on my doorstep!

Fly High Pidge Fly High

  • in the car on the way to the vet for same reason. Cat always loved a good car ride and he went peacefully on the way.

He always rode up front with me, his little paws on the Dash and an expression of 'Where we going Mum ' Happy happy cat to drive around

FlowersMadd. So sorry, sounds like a great cat who you will miss terribly- but sounds like he chose the perfect way to go, which will be some comfort.

SassynSane · 21/06/2017 12:14

Oh Madd, I lost my original Sassycat a week before Christmas in 2015 & there isn't a day goes by that I don't think of her. Hugs lovely lady. Take heart in your lovely boy reaching a grand old age & sparing his mum from having to make a heart-wrenching decision on his behalf. He was obviously loved and will live on in your memories.

Be kind to yourself xxxxx

So, we found a pigeon on our doorstep 2 days ago. My husband has tracked down the owner and it's called Misty. It's a long shot but I wonder if it's the same pigeon and gone off track again? We think a bird of prey has gone for it as it's lost its long feathers on one wing.
DH is going to drive it home en route to a meeting on Friday!

SassynSane · 21/06/2017 22:24

Hi Bumbling, DGazzie didn't have a name. Is owner Olympic Park way? Otherwise think it is a long shot, however a lovely thing you have done and hope Misty is happy to be home on Friday 😊

Awwwwwww bumblingmum Love that you have a pidge. and am taking 'Misty' home in style ((((((((((Hugs)))))))))))

Thanks sassynsane and EvilDoctorBallerinaDuck ((((((Hugs))))

Ps, I still check this thread before anything else. Like I said upthread, My childhood cat made it home 2 months later, I still have hope for DGazzie

ErrolTheDragon · 21/06/2017 23:40

If we could interpret the cooing in the pigeon roosts at the moment, I think it would be "y'know how people have that thing called Uber now? Well, us pigeons can use a similar thing, it's called called MN, to get a lift home"

bumblingmum · 22/06/2017 10:07

@SassynSane Misty is apparently from Loughborough. We are in South West and DH has meeting Keele so hoping Misty doesn't get car sick!

SassynSane · 22/06/2017 17:15

LOL! Am sure she'll travel well if used to going racing Smile Obviously must be to do with wind direction but part of me would like to think that as am also South West, we have a reputation (amongst pigeons at least) for being kind and caring in this part of the world Grin
