Can it really be five years since the tea-drinking party, led by NormanTheForeman swept to victory in the last general election? Oh yes it can! And today the plastic people are off to the polling stations again.

This year's parties standing for election are as follows:-

Tea-drinking party (leader NormanTheForeman)

Lifesaving party (leader KylieTheLifeguard)

Law and Order party (leader MichaelTheBeachPoliceman)

Military party (leader Sir Ospringe Bapchild)

Legalise Robbery party (leader Jack Jellyhead)

PlaymoLand Independence party (PLIP) (leader Nigel Garage)

Here's a photo of all the party leaders.

I'll be back shortly to tell you a little about each party's main policies.

Polls are open now and will close at 10 pm.

Cast your vote here! Grin

Hmm. Does PLIP's manifesto extend to Playmobil 123?

Because I am very concerned that they are pushing up rates of obesity and stretching our already overloaded public services. Their buses can only take 3 passengers and their bin lorries only fit the rubbish from one household, it's just not sustainable.

And their oversized pets are terrorising the neighbourhood animals. We don't want to be overrun with squirrels and rabbits that are bigger than our children!

But on the other hand, I think I should vote for Kylie.

We have very poor medical services where we are; although we have a vet, due to cost-cutting our only other medically trained personnel are two physios with a stretcher. They have to attend all medical emergencies, not just incidents on the football field.

So I think the lifesaving party is the right one. (I do fancy a fry-up though. Are the lifesaving party opposed to fry ups because of the health risks?)

FairPhyllis · 07/05/2015 09:11

Having weighed up all the alternatives most carefully, I feel that in these uncertain times it's best to stay the course and not change horses mid-stream. We can't risk our tea-based economy from slumping again. Five more years for Norm and the Tea Drinkers!

SoMuchToBits · 07/05/2015 09:14

The lifesaving party advocate fry-ups only in moderation. Same goes for cake. And biscuits.

Playmo St Cuthbert has eschewed the ballot box in favour of direct action. He's strictly nonviolent so please don't send Victor to kettle him.

I'm sure you'd all like to see a photo of democracy in action in Playmoland, so here's a busy polling station.

Have any of them avoided stamp duty by pretending they live in a toy box when actually their primary residence is a flat in Chelsea? Any sex scandals we should know about?

PinkSquash · 07/05/2015 09:20

I can't see the picture of all the candidates, so I won't be basing on looks but NTFs Tea Drinking Party wins for me.

SoMuchToBits · 07/05/2015 09:29

No scandals that I'm aware of, although I wouldn't look too carefully at Jack Jellyhead's past record...

SpiritOfTheRitz · 07/05/2015 09:29

Well, that's a very moderate stance on fry ups and cake, I'm reassured.

Definitely going to vote for Kylie.

I vote for the Legalise Robbery Party. Grin

Well, they can get lost then.

Biscuits are an essential food group, especially with tea.

X for Norman and the Tea Drinkers.

Much more fun than the real thing...

ErinBlockerBitch · 07/05/2015 09:43

I'm for Norman & the Tea Drinkers. I come from a strong Tea Drinking family. We have been Drinking and Dunking for generations.

TSSDNCOP · 07/05/2015 09:50

I cannot see the picture of the candidates. I like to be able to look into their -painted on eyes before they get my X

MonstersBalls · 07/05/2015 09:52

My cross is going in Michael's Law and Order party box. Maybe he'll be able to keep track of all the children and accessories that the feckless adults leave scattered around - I'm looking at you, pool party people with your flip-flops and towels. Angry

EvansOvalPiesYumYum · 07/05/2015 09:56

In our house, over the years, the PlaymoLand knights, cowboys and pirates would all have huge fights. (Only minor injuries, obviously, no deaths). And then they would all sit in the doll's house together for a cup of tea and analysis of the day's events.

So I'll vote for the Tea-Drinking Party - it will quite clearly solve so many problems. Grin

Grapejuicerocks · 07/05/2015 10:01

I'm considering the Law and order party. What's their stance on toilet brushes? If they aim to ban them, then it'll definitely be them.

RustyBear · 07/05/2015 10:02

Will the successful candidate be coming on MN for a webchat?

SoMuchToBits · 07/05/2015 10:04

I've never actually seen a Playmo toilet brush...

Haha, don't know about webchat! They'd have to be invited. Grin

I'm sorry but I think the devil is in the detail.

Could the tea-drinking part confirm that they support scones? And not 'scones'.

We need to know .

RustyBear · 07/05/2015 10:46

OK, I've decided

NormanTheForeman Tea Drinking Party X

QueenOfThorns · 07/05/2015 12:03

I'm just Shock that there are Playmo monks!

And that I'm spending far longer on this decision than I did on the real one Blush

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 07/05/2015 12:06

SoMuch, do you have anything to do with this lot? They do The Archers omnibus in Playmobile every Sunday. Brilliant stuff.

As for this important election, I can't see a picture of the candidates. I feel this is essential before I cast my vote .

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 07/05/2015 12:06

Sorry, sorry, sorry! Playmobil. I do know how to spell really. Blush

LauraChant · 07/05/2015 12:11

I really hate and despise tea. But I love a fry up. And now I hear the drinking tea party will countenance any hot drink I am drawn to them as I love coffee. But can I bear to vote for a party with the name of my nemesis in its own name? Tricky.
