Can it really be five years since the tea-drinking party, led by NormanTheForeman swept to victory in the last general election? Oh yes it can! And today the plastic people are off to the polling stations again.

This year's parties standing for election are as follows:-

Tea-drinking party (leader NormanTheForeman)

Lifesaving party (leader KylieTheLifeguard)

Law and Order party (leader MichaelTheBeachPoliceman)

Military party (leader Sir Ospringe Bapchild)

Legalise Robbery party (leader Jack Jellyhead)

PlaymoLand Independence party (PLIP) (leader Nigel Garage)

Here's a photo of all the party leaders.

I'll be back shortly to tell you a little about each party's main policies.

Polls are open now and will close at 10 pm.

Cast your vote here! Grin

I can tell you I won't be voting for and it's that idiot Garage. Round our way the Sylvanians are the ones doing all the important jobs like running the local supermarket and teaching in the school, the Lego manage the police station and castles and the Happylanders have a doctors surgery and vets. The feckless Playmos are too busy in their campervan and on the beach to do any actual work, the whole society would collapse without the hardworking Happylanders, Lego and Sylvanians. Has he thought about that? HAS HE?

I should also add that the fire station is manned by Peppa Pig and she does a fine job when she isn't on her way to the moon but I blame George for that

Sparklingbrook · 07/05/2015 08:39

Just looking st the pic- it has a whiff of The Village People. Grin

SoMuchToBits · 07/05/2015 08:39

Hmm, I suppose there could be the possibility of a coalition. One of Norm's best mates is Bossy Ross, the previous leader of the Lifesaving party. Norm can often be seen quaffing Brew in Bossy Ross's café, situated at the lifeboat station, and he has always been a supporter of the RPRS (Royal Playmoland Rescue Service)...

I vote for Michael. Rules and tea!

icklekid · 07/05/2015 08:40

Another Tea drinking party vote here she says whilst enjoying a good cuppa. However I'm interested in what Normans fav biscuit for dunking is...

SoMuchToBits · 07/05/2015 08:41

Sparkling, people have often said before that Michael the Beach policeman looks like he belongs in the Village People! Grin

I knew there was something important I had to do today

Is it too late to ask about Norman's views on herbal teas? I feel we're still seen as a minority group and don't always have the same opportunities for tea drinking (sometimes, shockingly, have to supply my own tea bag).

Am also quite tempted by the Law and Order Party, but suspect this is down to Michael's media-friendly good looks.

SoMuchToBits · 07/05/2015 08:43

For dunking, Norm likes a digestive. But for a biscuit not to be dunked, he prefers a home made chocolate and orange biscuit.

On the other hand, I like Michael's outfit the best.

I think I must be one of those floating voters. Still, I've got loads of time left to make a decision. No point in hurrying and getting it wrong!

SoMuchToBits · 07/05/2015 08:45

Normy says herbal teas are quite acceptable (although not his personal preference). But anything that involves a kettle is good.

Oh is v hard to decide. That's 2 hard decisions to make today.

I'll go for the Law and Order Party.

Kettricken · 07/05/2015 08:49

Tea drinking party for me. Anyone promising caffeine and sugar gets my voteGrin

kelda · 07/05/2015 08:49

I'm voting for Norm, as always.

grenedeer · 07/05/2015 08:49

Wavers at ballot box ...

Tuts at Sir Ospringe Bapchild and how young politicians are looking nowadays.

Love this thread!

We are having an on going debate of the Red MM v's the Yellow MM in our house. Clearly Yellow is a bit dopey and Red is an alpha chocolatemale, so it's not an easy choice...

MumofWombat · 07/05/2015 08:55

Am I allowed to vote even though I live in Australia?
If so, my vote goes to Norman and the tea drinking party. Tea drinking is very high on my agenda.

Theas18 · 07/05/2015 08:55

Yeah but lifesavers..... well lifesavers suck!

furrymuff · 07/05/2015 08:56

Kylie's manifesto has invoked a mini existential crisis in me over my morning cup of coffee - life IS better than the alternative! Vote for Kylie!

Miggsie · 07/05/2015 08:56

Where is the candidate for the "standing at the back dressed stupidly and looking stupid party"?

I shall have to vote for the tea drinkers, although I think their stance on scones is pretty weak.

Poledra · 07/05/2015 08:56

Ah, the real election is here.

I vote for Norm, and the Beverage of Your Choice party (coffee drinker but there's nowt better than a hot cuppa and cake).

TheColdDoesBotherMeAnyway · 07/05/2015 08:57

Do I detect a sultry look between Kylie and Michael? They look up for a coalition of their own if you ask me! Wink

FlaviaAlbia · 07/05/2015 08:58

Cake has swung it for me, I'll vote Norm even though I find his mustache alarming...

LooksLikeImStuckHere · 07/05/2015 09:00

I've considered it carefully and it seems that Norm is being subtle in his prejudice against those of us who aren't that bothered by a hot drink.

Kylie X

Sparklingbrook · 07/05/2015 09:01

SoMuch I am voting Michael purely for Village People connection
