Can it really be five years since the tea-drinking party, led by NormanTheForeman swept to victory in the last general election? Oh yes it can! And today the plastic people are off to the polling stations again.

This year's parties standing for election are as follows:-

Tea-drinking party (leader NormanTheForeman)

Lifesaving party (leader KylieTheLifeguard)

Law and Order party (leader MichaelTheBeachPoliceman)

Military party (leader Sir Ospringe Bapchild)

Legalise Robbery party (leader Jack Jellyhead)

PlaymoLand Independence party (PLIP) (leader Nigel Garage)

Here's a photo of all the party leaders.

I'll be back shortly to tell you a little about each party's main policies.

Polls are open now and will close at 10 pm.

Cast your vote here! Grin

quietasamouse · 09/05/2015 15:29

Wow, playmobil has really changed since my day! Blush

SoMuchToBits · 09/05/2015 16:15

Haha, I love the Playmobil Tom Daley I think we have him actually.

Ooh, this has given me some ideas for the state opening of Parliament. Grin

Bikinis and budgie-smugglers at the state opening of Parliament? Shock

Say it isn't so, I won't be able to stop my poor brain from seeing the same at the RL one!

SoMuchToBits · 09/05/2015 22:10

I think that on one side of the room there will be a lot of people with Brews hope we have enough teacups

On the other side there will be various life-saving, law-abiding and other Members of the Playmo Parliament. With a speech given by King Athelstan about what his government will do over the next 5 years.

SoMuch - whoever Norman appoints as Chancellor of the exchequer might want to consider this?

NormanTheForeman · 11/05/2015 17:31

Thanks! I think I will be keeping Rupert as my Chancellor. I'll ask him to bear those in mind when he sorts out his budget! Wink

DidoTheDodo · 11/05/2015 17:52

I hope he will be considering Earl Grey as an option.

NormanTheForeman · 11/05/2015 18:14

I'm sure the budget can cover all sorts of beverages!

quietasamouse · 11/05/2015 19:35

Grin Dido. Definitely a candidate for Norm's cabinet I'm sure!

NormanTheForeman · 11/05/2015 20:13

I think Earl Grey might have to sit in the House of Lords rather than the commons! Grin

quietasamouse · 11/05/2015 20:46

True! Good to get all bases covered there Norm!

yes, I have just replied to a playmobil man, but he is the Playmo PM after all Wink

UterusUterusGhali · 11/05/2015 21:13

Can't believe I missed this!

PacificDogwood · 11/05/2015 21:19

Well, if Lady Grey if offered a seat in the House of Lords too, I for one cry 'nepotism' Hmm

Wine
PacificDogwood · 11/05/2015 21:22

The masses awaiting the Opening of Parliament

NormanTheForeman · 11/05/2015 21:24

Oh, I think Wine is a perfectly good beverage, Pacific! In fact I have a Brew in one hand and a blue Wine in the other hand right now.

NormanTheForeman · 11/05/2015 21:29

I'm sure I recognise some of those people!

MoanCraft · 11/05/2015 21:51

More tea for me. Tannin drinkers all the way

NormanTheForeman · 11/05/2015 21:53
Stealthsquiggle · 11/05/2015 23:16

(you're allowed to wave to the PM, right?)

I think cups fall under the "essential infrastructure" section of the budget. Given that SoMuch's DS is now 5 years older than when you were first elected, does that mean that the overall budget is larger, or merely that there are more competing demands for a fixed budget?

Any other major infrastructure projects planned? A swimming pool upgrade to pander to the life saving party supporters, maybe?

NormanTheForeman · 12/05/2015 08:02

The budget may have increased, but you are also right about the increasing demands percussion instruments and games for Train Simulator.

We have recently invested in a new coastguard station, which should please the Lifesaving party voters, and also plan to add to our fleet of rescue boats.

BeccaMumsnet · 06/08/2015 12:01

Hi everyone - unfortunately it looks like we didn't move this to Classics in time and it went poof!

Luckily we have managed to have a dig around and have brought it back Grin

We'll pop it in Classics now.
