Can it really be five years since the tea-drinking party, led by NormanTheForeman swept to victory in the last general election? Oh yes it can! And today the plastic people are off to the polling stations again.

This year's parties standing for election are as follows:-

Tea-drinking party (leader NormanTheForeman)

Lifesaving party (leader KylieTheLifeguard)

Law and Order party (leader MichaelTheBeachPoliceman)

Military party (leader Sir Ospringe Bapchild)

Legalise Robbery party (leader Jack Jellyhead)

PlaymoLand Independence party (PLIP) (leader Nigel Garage)

Here's a photo of all the party leaders.

I'll be back shortly to tell you a little about each party's main policies.

Polls are open now and will close at 10 pm.

Cast your vote here! Grin

Norm may well have a cabinet reshuffle...

quietasamouse · 08/05/2015 13:55

Norm should've offered the king a cuppa really. Rather than just taking his own! Wink

Stealthsquiggle · 08/05/2015 14:06

Are we expecting any resignations among the defeated party leaders this afternoon? Has Norman held his victory press conference yet?

EvansOvalPiesYumYum · 08/05/2015 14:28

I bet Mr Jellyhead is feeling a bit wobbly now!

SoMuchToBits · 08/05/2015 19:52

I think that Nigel Garage is 'considering his future', as is Sir Ospringe Bapchild. Jack Jellyhead isn't really intelligent enough to realise that his future might not lie in politics.

Kylie was very pleased with her party's performance, and Michael did roughly as well as he expected.

It's interesting that he Lifesaving party did much better this time than in the last election. Maybe the female party leader helped...

Nigel Garage will be back… Hmm - at least so I hear.

SoMuchToBits · 08/05/2015 20:10

I've just looked back at the last Playmo election results, and last time the lifesaving party only received 7 votes, 48 this time! Well done Kylie! Smile

I should have started this thread in some topic that won't go after 90 days though, shouldn't I? As I won't be able to check back in 5 years' time for this year's results.

You ask MN to move it for you - I'd suggest 'Politics' Grin
That would be ONE thread I'd not hide.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 08/05/2015 20:27

I'm so upset I only found this thread now! SoMuch why not ask for it to be moved to Classics then you'll always be able to find it.

Allalonenow · 08/05/2015 20:37

Yes Classics would be a great place for it.

Exciting times for Norm, there is sure to be a referendum soon, and also a nationwide discussion on devolution.
Get that kettle on! Brew

EvansOvalPiesYumYum · 08/05/2015 20:43

OR - enter both sets of results into a spreadsheet. You could do a Jon Snow-type graph or pie-chart, then continue to collate and monitor in future years Grin

SoMuchToBits · 08/05/2015 21:21

I'm not sure it's a 'Classic', but might ask for it to be moved to politics!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 09/05/2015 08:18

I'm so immersed in Game of Thrones now I did a double take at seeing Jon Snow there! I think it's a Classic and that's where the last election thread is, isn't it? How nice to find one good-tempered election-related thread on MN!

SoMuchToBits · 09/05/2015 09:54

You can always trust the Playmobil people to be good-tempered! Even the robbers and the knights who fight each other smile all the time... Wink

Hi SoMuchToBits,

Just letting you know that we'll be moving this thread somewhere permanent in a day or so - it's been a lovely antidote to all the shirtiness round here.

So, Classics or Politics? Cast your vote now! Grin

quietasamouse · 09/05/2015 10:47

Classics gets my vote! I wouldn't even think to look for it in politics, though I think really it should be up to SoMuch and NTF. Brew

Grapejuicerocks · 09/05/2015 11:06

Classics

TheWintersmith · 09/05/2015 11:08

Bum. I've only just found this. Hilarious. Can I come to your house OP ?

MNHQ - Classics please

GreenShadow · 09/05/2015 11:59

Definitely Classics Dawn. To go along with SoMuch's other PlayMo classics.

SoMuchToBits · 09/05/2015 12:23

Thank you very much, Dawn! I don't mind where it goes, so long as it doesn't go 'Poof!'.

We have a lot of fun with the Playmobilers in our house even though ds is now 14 and really a bit too old .

I'm looking forward to the state opening of parliament, if only to see what the spouses wear!

It looks like the people have spoken!

Classics it is.

Oh, and this chap's wondering if he can join KylieTheLifeguard's Lifesaving party? Grin
