Real post I've seen this week.

"Got some cheap stuff for sale if you want anything"

Cue 20 posts along the lines of;

"Have you got a patio heater hun?"

"No sorry"

Have you got a wheelbarrow?

No, haven't got a wheelbarrow.
Xx

3 days later the thread is still going strong. 20 people have been disappointed that the seller doesn't have what they want and the seller has made no effort to make any suggestion what she does have.

It amazes me the amount of people who 'don't drive' on these groups, it really does!

ClawHandsIfYouBelieveInFreaks · 03/11/2014 14:18

I "don't drive" Goofy. But without the ""

I REALLY don't drive.

Many people don't because it's far too expensive.

Galena · 03/11/2014 14:47

To be fair (And this is going to sound very classist and so on, but that is not my aim) a lot of the people who need to buy second hand stuff do so because they are short on money - and therefore couldn't afford to run a car.

I often buy second hand for DD because I like to see clothes reused and there is no need to pay over the odds for brand new. However, I don't NEED to buy second hand - I am lucky that I can afford to buy new if I need to.

A lot of the parents at DD's school do not drive.

alltoomuchrightnow · 03/11/2014 14:57

someone out there is dismembering Barbies and sticking the head and shoulders to jars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GoofyIsACow · 03/11/2014 15:14

Sorry ClawHands, i realise that sounded a bit snippy actually, I didn't mean it as such, it is just that thinking back over all the stuff I have sold on fb, i am amazed at the amount (probably 90%) of people who buy my stuff want it delivering as they 'don't drive'
I expect a proportion of those people genuinely don't, but i would wager some of them are just trying it on, where we live is very out of the way, public transport isn't great. Definitely wasn't a dig at people who don't drive. Sorry Blush

TheCunnyFunt · 03/11/2014 15:39

There was one on mine a few weeks ago.

'Brand new sofa, still wrapped' and some the reason for selling, can't remember it though. There was a pic of the still wrapped sofa, minus the wrapping :o

ClawHandsIfYouBelieveInFreaks · 03/11/2014 15:47

Goofy it's ok. I know it's hard to understand if you don't really struggle financially. A school Mum friend has often said to me "oh for goodness sake! When are you going to get a drivers licence!" as if it's just something I've forgotten about! Rather than something which is so out of my affordable range that it's a dream!

GoofyIsACow · 03/11/2014 16:08

You have assumed we don't struggle for money because we have a car, that is quite an assumption, vehicles aren't the only thing in life that costs money! unfortunately we have to cut costs elsewhere as normal life could not be conducted where we live without a car. We live with parents so it's not like we live in the middle of nowhere in our big mansion!

ShesAnEasyWuffer · 03/11/2014 16:09

ClawHandsIfYouBelieveInFreaks · 03/11/2014 17:06

Goofy no. I think you're taking things personally now when I meant nothing of the kind. However, if you choose to live at your parents then of course you can afford a car. I haven't that option.

VivaLeBeaver · 03/11/2014 17:24

Quite like these for £7.50. If dd was you get I'd make one myself buy one.

I covered up the photograph of the One Direction boy and asked my husband who he thought the drawing was meant to be - 'Ed Milliband' was his response.

KinkyDorito · 03/11/2014 17:32

Why is their a glittery wine glass with the glittery vodka? No light-weight glittery shot glass with that present.

KinkyDorito · 03/11/2014 17:33

PookBob · 03/11/2014 17:50

Grin so its fooked then?

myotherusernameisbetter · 03/11/2014 18:36

re the lego mini fugures- it's rare for them to go for less than a pound a shot on ebay so I guess that is not far from the going rate....it's just when you add it all up it's sounds a hell of a lot......

ThatCandyDontCrushItself · 03/11/2014 18:39

Genuine conversation in response to an Xbox for sale ad:

Names removed to protect the stupid less intelligent

BUYER: How cum u selling got xboxone isit m8

SELLER: Ye i rather my x1 and dont go on my 360 no more

I weep for the future, I really do Sad

Rollermum · 03/11/2014 18:40

Thanks for clarifying Alice! I think the newborn clothes mention threw me as so often used to make keepsakes.

ButtonAndSqueak · 03/11/2014 18:49

Hilarious.

I just can't abide this:

"Hm" (which in itself is intolerable)

"10 pound"

It's ten poundS you numpty. Plural. Not ONE POUND, BUT TEN OF THE LITTLE BUGGERS. Aaaaarrrrrggggghhhhh

BertieBotts · 03/11/2014 19:24

Yes, but if you stuff a balloon with clothes it's not going to float is it? I get the idea of filling it with feathers or glitter Argh no more glittery shit! or ribbons or whatever, but clothes?? It's just going to drag itself sadly across the floor.

Ten pound sounds sort of right to me. I wonder if it has some kind of history of being an irregular plural or uncountable. Weight perhaps?

NorbertDentressangle · 03/11/2014 19:33

Do you reckon anyone has covered a car in that glittery shit yet?

wanttosinglikemarycoughlan · 03/11/2014 19:35

Hey I've crocheted an Elsa hat complete with plait, I didn't sell on Facebook though
