Stupid Facebook selling.

Real post I've seen this week.

"Got some cheap stuff for sale if you want anything"

Cue 20 posts along the lines of;

"Have you got a patio heater hun?"

"No sorry"

Have you got a wheelbarrow?

No, haven't got a wheelbarrow.
Xx

3 days later the thread is still going strong. 20 people have been disappointed that the seller doesn't have what they want and the seller has made no effort to make any suggestion what she does have.

viva hang on a mo!

dannydyerismydad · 02/11/2014 11:25

One near me is selling a "leaving room rug" today.

I reeeeeally want to ask if it's a long hall carpet.

ClawHandsIfYouBelieveInFreaks · 02/11/2014 11:26

There.

Stupid Facebook selling.
fatowl · 02/11/2014 11:26

OMG, just looked at the Newcastle upon tyne one (because it was the first Open one that came up) and the first posts are (in order):

A guy selling drugs to get "big"
Someone selling cheap (fake) perfume
An ad for a car boot sale
Dog beds (look reasonable - but the post in shouty capitals)
and someone claiming you can get anything for free off Amazon by watching an advert (yes that sounds likely!)

No Huns though

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 02/11/2014 11:38

How big is that mushroom pebble? I can see it's well done and everything...but can't imagine wanting it in my house Confused

HairyMagratsScare · 02/11/2014 11:39

Argh I can't find the pic I wanted to, they were glitter animal print in a set of 4 but done so very badly! The leopard spots weren't quite right & the zebra stripes had run a bit & merged with each other!

She must have taken them off....

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 02/11/2014 11:43

My local group is very sane however the nearest big town one is less so...Yankee candles selling for £15 and £5 - ie the same or even more than they were selling for in the Yankee candle shop when I was in there last week, pics of a load of shite with 'message for sizes and prices' - why wouldn't you just write them on there? And this delightful sofa - ok it's free but seriously, why not move the crap first?

Stupid Facebook selling.
ClawHandsIfYouBelieveInFreaks · 02/11/2014 11:45

Ehric not sure....some of them are as big as a cabbage and others are only a few inches across. Little ones are about 20 quid....big ones up to 100.

Apophenia · 02/11/2014 11:51

Wormcast They look like TY Beanie Babies?

BonjourMinou · 02/11/2014 12:02

Bit disappointed by my group, everything seems pretty reasonable. No glittery shit and certainly nothing in the league of that 1d sketch. Envy

We need to move.

VivaLeBeaver · 02/11/2014 12:13

Well the pebble is more detailed than I imagined. I had images of a painted bright red pebble with a few swirls on it. But I wouldn't buy one.

I've been enjoying this thread. I really must take a look at the selling page for my area now.

The amount of Frozen tat is mind boggling!

IgnoreMeEveryOtherFuckerDoes · 02/11/2014 12:22

Oh I like the pebbles but not for £70.

ClawHandsIfYouBelieveInFreaks · 02/11/2014 12:26

The pebbles cause all kinds of arguments and bunfights. If buyers don't comment with the right phrase on market nights then they get gazumped by whoever does! There's a special sentence you have to put...if you want it....and people go mad for them. She sends them to bloody Australia ffs!

I know she's clever and has a steady hand....but I am still amazed people pay so much for a rock!

Toastiefeet · 02/11/2014 12:29

I've just seen a frame with babies name, dob and weight. Unfortunately weight is spelt wieght.

ClawHandsIfYouBelieveInFreaks · 02/11/2014 12:34

Oh lordy. I once saw some personalised dolls in boxes and the box said "HAPPY CHRISTAMS!"

I messaged the seller to tell her and she messaged me back to say "TY but I no it ses that. No one hs noticed so pls dont say it on my page."

AliceLidl · 02/11/2014 12:45

I quite like the pebble, but I wouldn't want one.

She's clearly very skilled, I can imagine that if the huns ever find out what paint she uses then their efforts will be the pebble equivalent of the One Direction portrait someone shared before.

Ehric I'm glad you told us there was a sofa in that picture somewhere because I had no idea Grin.

WormCast I think the blurred mass might be a collection of Happy Meal toys, or possibly beanie babies, but I wouldn't want to swear to it.

Well this thread is an eye opener, I thought it was just where I live now! Glitter, frozen, blinged fake converse, Annie fucking Sloan paint on God awful 80s furniture and all manner of 'hunni', 'hm' and 'inbox for details'.

abitwrong123 · 02/11/2014 12:59

I found this one, it's awesome. I think the lady gets £20 - £30 each time someone uses her uncle. Sadly no replies. Sad

"Anyone looking to change there flooring carpet lino vinyl laminate anything u want cheaper better and faster than anybody else will get the job done properly do not give cheap equipment get the job done iinbox .. my uncle giving me 20-30 per customer I get him he's got 13 years experience some of which he was at carpet right thanks in advance"

Smilesandpiles · 02/11/2014 13:02

The sofa one is hillarious.

It took me ages to see it.

FyreFly · 02/11/2014 13:21

Aww the pebbles are quite cute! Don't think I'd pay £70 for one but they're the best I've seen on this thread so far!

ClawHandsIfYouBelieveInFreaks · 02/11/2014 13:21

Fyre I agree. I wasn't sharing them because I think they're crap or anything. Just as an example of how people will go nuts over something if it's handmade well.

ClawHandsIfYouBelieveInFreaks · 02/11/2014 13:22

Abit she needs to get a bit more proactive with some images etc.

KinkyDorito · 02/11/2014 13:59

Need to hone my pebble painting craft.

I would up it one and do it with glitter pens.
