AIBU to think that comprehension just isn't a strong point with some people.

I've noticed this quite a lot over the time I have on MN.

Referring to a recent thread re early retirement. The poster quite clearly stated that DH wanted to retire in 14 months (when mortgage paid) and wanted her to retire at the same time. She is 10 years his junior and works part time.

OK, first answer was "So he wants you both to retire in early forties"

Second response "Can you change to part time work"

I can understand this if we were 10 pages into the thread because we don't all have time to read all responses, but come on, the first two responses?

Have you tried Netmums?

burgundytartan · 23/11/2014 14:45

I've just had one of these.

Started a thread about a colleague making jokes about my hoody (it is accepted work wear) and wibu to have snapped at her.

Answer - yes I can't believe you spoke to a client like that and no wonder your colleague picked you up on it.

Er ... Confused

I know you said your OH hit you over the head with a meat tenderiser and you're sinking in and out of consciousness but frankly, I'd like to hear his side of the story Hmm.

flippinada · 23/11/2014 15:47

I never believed this myself but it's an actual true fact, teenage boys will die if they don't eat their own body weight in red meat every single day.

flippinada · 23/11/2014 15:54

I agree with

Gunznroses · 23/11/2014 16:18

Well OP frankly I'm quite shocked at your attitude!, The man obviously has 'mental health' issues and his Dw is terribly selfish not to think of that. She should pack up her job right now and concentrate or helping him get better.
The poor man has suffered enough already. Hmm

flippinada · 23/11/2014 16:46

Well, I think the OP sounds selfish. We all know what the answer would be if OP was a man. Double standards, much Hmm ?

flippinada · 23/11/2014 16:52

You're saying you both need to work to pay the mortgage/bills/put food on the table, but if you really cared about your DCs education you would find a way to home educate.

Gunznroses · 23/11/2014 21:01

Actually OP you come across as a misogynist. Your OP sets feminism back a hundred years! stop enabling this poor excuse for a man. Why is the DW working part-time ?Shock, she needs to grow some and triple her hours. You in the meantime should read up on gender theories by there, then come back and continue this conversation with us.
