I've noticed this quite a lot over the time I have on MN.

Referring to a recent thread re early retirement. The poster quite clearly stated that DH wanted to retire in 14 months (when mortgage paid) and wanted her to retire at the same time. She is 10 years his junior and works part time.

OK, first answer was "So he wants you both to retire in early forties"

Second response "Can you change to part time work"

I can understand this if we were 10 pages into the thread because we don't all have time to read all responses, but come on, the first two responses?

Oh darling, it's so sad that your wedding night was ruined.

Here's a little tip I picked up as a newly wed. Chew a chilli before you retire. He won't ask for that service ever again... trust me!

The nutmeg grater I'd taken in on my warm milk saucer was a bonus. I did purchase a new one for the actual purpose of grating nutmeg, but the original looks lovely box framed on our bedroom wall. Keep one handy, even if warm milk and nutmeg aren't your thing.

Chillies were hard to come by all those years ago, but the schlep to the dockside was well worth it as Harold and I are approaching our diamond wedding anniversary next month.

That ugly business never came up again my dear. A nod toward that little box frame sorted it every time.

Just don't let ANYONE shit in your toilet. Your house, your rules.

Jill2015 · 01/10/2014 07:57

Have a shower and a bath, every hour, on the hour. Wash all towels, sheets and curtains daily.
Otherwise you are minging, and you know it.
Oh and clean jammies three times a night, for every one, in the house. Anything below MY standards is unacceptable. I care about the environment and worry about it a lot. (In between all the washing).

Elemental · 01/10/2014 08:01

AIBU to be slightly miffed at this wedding invitation from my sister?

There's no children invited,
The bridesmaids have all dieted,
You can come to the evening do,
As long as you give us your money too.

Elemental · 01/10/2014 08:08

I'm wearing Converse today but not sure if I'm too old for them at age 30?

Elemental · 01/10/2014 08:10

Grrr! My neighbour's moved into my spare bedroom without asking and is blasting loud music all through the night. I'm just nodding and giving them a terse "hello" as I see them. Not sure what else I can do about it?

MrsSquiggle · 01/10/2014 08:17

'URGENT: AIBU to ask if anyone has a Zatchels discount code?'

(Posting here for traffic.)

Jill2015 · 01/10/2014 09:02

'MN was much better in the old days...'
'I've name changed for this, but naice ham, Pom bears, penis beaker' (WTF does that prove... Confused)

ninetynineonehundred · 01/10/2014 09:47

Op are you jealous because other people are able to retire early? This sounds like an excuse to bash the more fortunate.
Not attractive imho

andsmile · 01/10/2014 09:55

err place marking - I'll check back to see how the retirement goes

(luffs this fred)

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 01/10/2014 10:38

I agree with Shockers. It's all very sad :(

Downamongtherednecks · 01/10/2014 10:42

I love your username!!!!!

Cherub1066 · 01/10/2014 10:45

It wouldn't be so bad if we could just go to Centre Parks for the occasional weekend but he's started to expect it every Friday night, and occasionally mid week. Help!

Rainicorn · 01/10/2014 10:54

As it says.

AIBU to think that comprehension just isn't a strong point with some people.
Rainicorn · 01/10/2014 10:55

As always, I agree with Hecate

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 01/10/2014 10:58

That's just typical of Downamongtherednecks Hmm

No one ever likes my username :(

Showy · 01/10/2014 11:04

What Bran said.

CheerfulYank · 01/10/2014 11:15

You sound very hard work tbh. Hmm

Who cares if she feeds her DC McDonalds three times a day? Who are you to judge?

(Same postrr, differrnt thread) Oh, I only give DD (Cedar, 17 and a half months) mung beans stewed in breast milk with a sprinkling of tumeric. Can't believe you'd consider a jarred sauce actually.

That's very American isn't it?

OttiliaVonDCup · 01/10/2014 11:24

Have you tried coconut oil cleansing OP?

don't know what the question was, but this is your answer.

Comito · 01/10/2014 11:27

I heard a strange noise in my house the other night and me and DH weed ourselves with fear. I think my house is haunted!

MackerelOfFact · 01/10/2014 11:33

Have a look at his phone bill, OP.

DinoSnores · 01/10/2014 11:36

It's your own fault for snooping, OP. I would never ask my DH what sort of day he's had. That's just intrusive.

MackerelOfFact · 01/10/2014 11:41

It's disgusting that your Au Pair didn't give you more notice that her mother would die - I'd definitely find a replacement ASAP before it affects your DCs.

Zone2mum · 01/10/2014 12:08

Arf at

Jill2015 · 01/10/2014 13:49

I agree with (ignoring the fact that twenty others have said the same thing, and all twenty of them said it before ).
