AIBU to think that comprehension just isn't a strong point with some people.

I've noticed this quite a lot over the time I have on MN.

Referring to a recent thread re early retirement. The poster quite clearly stated that DH wanted to retire in 14 months (when mortgage paid) and wanted her to retire at the same time. She is 10 years his junior and works part time.

OK, first answer was "So he wants you both to retire in early forties"

Second response "Can you change to part time work"

I can understand this if we were 10 pages into the thread because we don't all have time to read all responses, but come on, the first two responses?

Does anyone fancy a hamwidge?

Shockers · 02/10/2014 14:15

I'm not sure OP.

Would you go for a swim, sauna etc with a snotty nose? I'm thinking of going now, but not sure it's wise.

Sorry for the hijack... I couldn't be faffed to start my own thread and I'd have to leave in the next 10 minutes if I'm going to be back in time for the kids.

CheerfulYank · 02/10/2014 14:28

Yabvu to let your 18 year old live with you. She'll never stand on her own two feet, spoilt mare. When I was 17 I worked four full time jobs and lived on my own. The malnutrition was character building.

Yabvu to not want to sleep in a box room so your DS can have his big room. It doesn't matter that he's 35 and only needs it between jobs and girlfriends. He will feel terribly pushed out if you box up his things. I know I would. My children's rooms are theirs forever.

Delphiniumsblue · 02/10/2014 15:50

YABU and you know it.

Shockers · 02/10/2014 16:39

Will your friend be downsizing when she retires OP?

How many bedrooms does she currently have and is she within commuting distance of Knott-End-on-Sea?

andsmile · 02/10/2014 16:41

Does she have a goat?

ManAliveThisThingsFantastic · 02/10/2014 17:45

Don't forget to offer the workman copious amounts of tea and coffee while he works on your extension 8 hours a day.

But don't DARE let him use the toilet!! Would you really want him upstairs? In YOUR bathroom?! He can wait till he gets home fgs!

Jill2015 · 02/10/2014 21:04

Are you on glue Wink

Shockers · 02/10/2014 21:17

Still snotty and have gone off the idea of a swim.

Thanks you lot... where were you when I needed advice?

Delphiniumsblue · 03/10/2014 07:18

I haven't had time to read the whole thread, so apologies if it has been done, but has anyone suggested retiring to Spain?

OodneedsanOod · 03/10/2014 22:38

Have you tried this?

LuisSuarezTeeth · 05/10/2014 22:18

We have no reason to think the OP is not genuine.
