AIBU to think that comprehension just isn't a strong point with some people.

I've noticed this quite a lot over the time I have on MN.

Referring to a recent thread re early retirement. The poster quite clearly stated that DH wanted to retire in 14 months (when mortgage paid) and wanted her to retire at the same time. She is 10 years his junior and works part time.

OK, first answer was "So he wants you both to retire in early forties"

Second response "Can you change to part time work"

I can understand this if we were 10 pages into the thread because we don't all have time to read all responses, but come on, the first two responses?

Couldn't read and run. Have an un-mumsnetty hug. Do you have some support IRL with this?

Well, personally I wouldn't place much store by what NHS Direct say. Trust your instincts.

Whoopsadazy · 29/09/2014 12:05

Q - We can have a morgage of 100k. Houses in an easy commute of work and schools are about 150k. Should we carry on renting?

A - Well round here as opposed to the obviously common and scummy place you live 2 bed flats go for 800k so you're very lucky to live in your scuzzy area which is still too expensive for you

Q - my maternity leave is due to end. I have to go back to work - we can't afford for me to do otherwise. Is working pattern A or B best?

A - why have kids if you can't afford them?
A - just give up work. No job is more important than your baby
A - can you get a higher paid job and work less?
A - YOU SOUND VERY ENTITLED
