Summary anyone? :)

Hmm I trust UW about as far as I could peg DP. Considering he weighs 106kg and I'm 5'nothing that's about 1/16inch.

Chris
A good counselor is worth their weight in platinum.
My anger-releasing story involves me climbing up the top of a rather large tree in order to scream appropriately.
And then getting a bit stuck. Hmm

By the end of March I shall have my passport...all ready for IFYF Grin

Good luck with your poetry!

PedantMarina · 07/02/2014 17:55

remember your original condition that you'd cut the notice period (to 1 week?) if the didn't comply with things? wouldn't you say this dithering counts as that?

WingDefence · 07/02/2014 17:56

Have been ill and v busy at work but will catch up as soon as I can (hopefully before the thread gets to 1000!)...

GlaikitFizzog · 09/02/2014 15:37

FYC I have a question for you! How easy is it to use a chainsaw?

We have a hedge and a tree, that need to go/be smaller. Neighbour has offered me a loan of his chainsaw. Dh is feart, but I'm willing to give it a go seeing as a gardener has quoted £400 to do the work (leaving the clipping for us to dispose of Shock )

mistlethrush · 09/02/2014 18:09

Glaikit - you really need steel toe capped boots and anti-chain saw protective trousers... Depending on the tree, I would be attacking it with a pruning saw and decent loppers..

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 09/02/2014 18:13

Pedant , it's even worse. They have(surprise surprise) failed to let us know.

An email had been sent today saying give us a date or put up the fence now. No reply as yet.

Lavender I'm really hoping they'll sod off because they're worried about having to fork out for one. I really don't believe that they will.

New little bit of info about UW discovered, apparently none of the horsey people in the area really know about her because when she approached them asking for help with the stallion they all told her to put him down. So she hates them all because they don't care. It is also apparently common knowledge that she owes a lot of people money Hmm

Uni, I will :) or at least I'll try

Mistle, I shouldn't have grinned at the static horse, but I did :)

Littlegrey, that is a taunting horse you have there Grin

Angela, he is being very good about ignoring all vagueness and asking for times and places, we shall see...

Thomas, loving the image of you stuck screaming in a tree (sorry), get those tickets booked!!

Pedant, it will if they don't answer the direct question.

Wing, sorry you've not been well :( you've been missed. Hope you're feeling better. No pressure!!

Glaikit, it's not hard, but it is dangerous. It's important the chainsaw is well maintained and sharpened and that you've got all the gear (especially a full face guard). There are proper courses to learn how to do it. If your neighbour is competent and you trust them to show you then it's entirely up to you (I don't want to be responsible for missing limbs!!).

It's just one of those "slip with a normal saw and you might get a nasty cut, slip with a chainsaw and you might lose a limb" things. But I am very cautious about them. Great fun through :) you'll never want to waste time with a handsaw ever again. You'll also find you make excuses to cut more back than you planned Grin

Oh and it also depends on what type he's got. If it's a little electric one then they aren't that powerful and are very easy to use. If it's a heavy petrol one (like mine) then it's a lot more powerful and needs more care.

Hope that ramble is of some use.

Hmm, I have steel top capped boots for a previous occupation! Neighbour has the face mask thingy, he uses his for getting logs (forrestry commission place down the road let him chop up the fallen trees).

The tree is a conifer(infact it's 3, but it's so big it looks like one) and blocks all the light coming into the back of the house, it must go. Hedge is just a beech hedge and could probably be done with lopers, but would be much quicker with a chainsaw. I just want it done, but can't justify/afford spending £400+.

Who needs four limbs eh?

lessemin · 09/02/2014 18:39

Oh god fizzog please leave chainsaws to a profesional.

I know someone who cut his own Genitals off with a chainsaw. It ran up his leg.

GlaikitFizzog · 09/02/2014 18:45

Oh Christ! Maybe neighbour will do it! He knows what he's doing!

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 09/02/2014 19:28

Glaikit, if it's just one tree it's not worth learning how to do it really. Bribe your neighbour with cheesecake :)

OP posts:
IdaBlankenship · 09/02/2014 19:30

How can you cut just your genitals off? He must have had an extremely large meat & two veg. How awful Shock

lessemin · 09/02/2014 19:43

I don't ida He's okay tho' they were reattached it was years ago.

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 09/02/2014 20:13

Ida Shock

Lesse, glad he was ok. Lucky not have been completely mangled.

RenterNomad · 09/02/2014 20:32

I like your information-gathering! UW unhorsed!

And go, go, FuckYouDH! (or is that a bit too familiar? Blush)

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 09/02/2014 20:36

Renter Grin dh says it's fine by him... Hmm Grin

OP posts:
RenterNomad · 09/02/2014 20:48

Don't worry, I am faaaar away. And no chance of attending the FuckYouFest (sounds like an orgy: the Spring of Love! Or Spring of Youth. Or something. Anyway, plenty of jealousy here!)

Lavenderhoney · 09/02/2014 20:55

Chris, I think she is going to do precisely nothing and keep saying she is looking for a home. She isn't going to put up electric fencing. She will say something fell through etc etc.

The ownership ( unless I have missed something) seems foggy again. If you can, waylay her and ask her to sign a letter pre printed by you, with you and your dh wielding a pen, and her name, address and signature, saying she doesn't own the stallion and cannot prove she does, and has just been looking after him.

Also have a paragraph saying she agrees to be off your land by x.

If she won't sign, tell her to bugger off by the weekend. Have someone with you to witness, like the vet.

If she does sign, arrange for the stallion to be pts, and tell her she needs to be off you land by x or the police will be involved.

Hardball now:)

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 09/02/2014 21:33

Renter :) it'll be a beautiful thing.

Lavender, I fear you're right, but I really hope you're wrong! Dh noticed that RL (who had previously been included in all correspondence) had been left out of the latest exchange by UW, so he's CC'd her in too. I do believe she will be working behind the scenes to make it happen. If it was UW alone things would be very different.

We'll see what reply we get and then go from there.

It's been pouring down with rain here. Stallion is looking very unhappy. I want to take a photo and post it with a caption of "I hate this field".

OP posts:
Jux · 09/02/2014 21:45

Oh, I think you should do just that. Plaster it all over fb (and MN of course!).

It sounds to me like she is getting ready to not go Sad

RenterNomad · 09/02/2014 22:18

Re: "I hate this field."

... Sorry, but not the best time to anthropomorphise him. In fact, now that you've discovered UW is not "horsey", it's clearer where her emotions are coming from: anthropomorphisation is just adding harmony to her fixation!

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 09/02/2014 22:50

Jux, hold that thought... I have a reply...

Renter, that's exactly it. This entire thing is about the anthropomorphism of said horse and the inability to do what is best for him. I honestly believe that UW would rather see him alive and in pain than do the right thing.

So... Ready for this?

We have a date! RL got back to us with many apologies for not updating sooner (my guess is she was told we were being kept in the loop) to say that they will be moving him this weekend!

OP posts:
Jux · 09/02/2014 22:54

Woohoo! Fabulous!!

Doing a little dance too Smile

QOD · 09/02/2014 23:00

Wohoooo!

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 09/02/2014 23:05

Thanks Jux and QOD! Grin

I'll believe it when I see it...

I have great trepidation, but great hope too.

Maybe.

Well it's got to happen! RL (who moved away) is coming back to help too, along with a couple of others. So it's not as though they're going to come all that way and do nothing.

OP posts:
AcrossthePond55 · 09/02/2014 23:31

Oh Good! Poor old fellow. I hope this means they found a new place for him rather than PTS.

I'm going to be off in the wilderness where there is no cell/wifi next weekend. Hopefully when I get back there will be a 'happy ending' post.
