That should read two and I'm everybody's!

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 31/01/2014 18:17

My flavoured vodka love is miodulla, it's polish I think, and tastes of honey and vanilla. It's delicious.

Meerka, you'll have to find it and bring some!

Ida, salty licorice?! Interesting.

Acrossthepond, we'll raise a glass to you across the water. In fact I'll start now. It's Friday. I'm having Wine

Jux, is that true about curry? Amazing! I do like pigs a lot, very intelligent and characterful, oh and delicious. I've always wanted Apple fed pigs to eat. I'd need quite small ones though I think.

Fryone Shock that's a lot! Are you sure he didn't hover home?

Chameleon, we do need a designated sober person, but you could end up in charge of all the dcs, so my advice is pretend to drink to avoid responsibility. I have known many a Yorkshire lass and I wouldn't want to be the one standing in your way, and with the dance and comedy and synths and didg, and offers of talking down the local police, you are a definite in :)

Please talk to me about sloe gin and elderberry gin.

I was given some for Xmas (homemade) and I don't know how to drink it!

AcrossthePond55 · 01/02/2014 04:58

Mushroom, not so sure about the elderberry gin, but for the sloe gin try a sloe gin fizz

1 oz gin
1 oz sloe gin
3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
1 oz simple syrup
3-4 oz soda water

Shake the gin, lemon juice and simple syrup with ice and strain into an ice-filled highball glass. Top with soda, garnish with a slice of orange and a cherry, and serve.

MushroomSoup · 01/02/2014 15:04

Thank you!

Jux · 01/02/2014 16:17

I have just made Toblerone cheesecak!! It is in the fridge, ready for tomorrow. I kind of used both recipes by mistake, they got mixed up half way through!, but it'll be fine.

MrsNutella · 01/02/2014 20:03

jux can we all pop round tomorrow for a slice of cheesecak?!

FryOneFatManic · 01/02/2014 20:23

The bloke who drank 6 pints of ginger wine was really big, so probably it wouldn't affect him as much as for someone not so big.

IdaBlankenship · 01/02/2014 20:40

My cheesecakes usually turn out a bit cheesecak

Jux · 01/02/2014 23:09
Grin
ChameleonCircuit · 02/02/2014 00:07

D'you think that'll convince everyone I'm not fit to babysit? Smile

GlaikitFizzog · 03/02/2014 09:08

24 hours and not a post! Has UW kidnapped FYC?

Yooooooo Hoooooooooo?

mistlethrush · 03/02/2014 09:11

I hope FYC has had a nice, peaceful weekend, unmolested by strangers parking where they wish!

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 03/02/2014 14:26

Mushroom I've always just had it neat. In which case my advice is to drink it very carefully.

Acrossthepond I will have to try that, sounds lovely.

Jux, how was the cheesecake?!

Nutella :)

Fryone, I don't think I'd survive.

Ida, I've never made a cheesecake Shock I think it might be the only thing I haven't. It's only just occurred to me that I always buy them Blush

Chameleon, excellent acting, just make sure you slur often and pick fights with people.

Glaikit, I've been hiding Grin

Mistle, not fully peaceful, no

I don't know if I ever mentioned that they had a small trailer in the field too? We asked for this to be removed by the end of yesterday. Friday evening we actually received a civil email from UW saying she would be sorting its removal and apologising for any disturbance this might cause.

A real change of tone. Hurray!

However said trailer is in a bit of a state, and we hadn't realised she was just going to use her small 4x4 and not a proper off roader to get it off the field.

Long story short. It's still there, the ground around it is churned to buggery, and we've had a "sorry it wouldn't move, we'll be back" email.

On one hand she seems to be getting the hang of letting us know and asking permission, on the other hand she's left huge divets!

Ah well. She wouldn't be her if there weren't some complications.

On another subject, an old friend of mine has asked me to perform some poetry at an event. I have hesitantly agreed (never performed before but want to) and only afterwards did she reveal that she's had dealings with UW, UW has offered some help at the event, and this could end up being a comedic evening.

What rhymes with, "there was once a freeloading horse" ?

OP posts:
UniS · 03/02/2014 14:33

There once was a free loading horse,
With a freeloading carer , of course.

someone else ca n take it from here.

ToffeeOwnsTheSausage · 03/02/2014 14:34

Who needed to go on a manners course....

mistlethrush · 03/02/2014 14:37

There once was a free loading horse,
With a freeloading carer , of course.
With free water, and field
'Move out, NO! they squealed
And left tyre tracks - though it could have been worse.

yoshipoppet · 03/02/2014 14:39

There once was a free loading horse,
With a freeloading carer , of course.
They were just squatters
The dirty rotters
But they've now met an unstoppable force

enriquetheringbearinglizard · 03/02/2014 15:09

With sincere apologies for rampant plagiarism

Horsey freeloaders got lairy
One nice, one not nice, I tell thee
Walking my field is quite scary
for babe and pup not sensible either
I heard of a friend feeling rotten
from a kick on the shins by rogue stallion
Freeloaders should really have moved on
Instead they're still putting upon one

I predict an IFYF
I predict an IFYF
I predict an IFYF
I predict an IFYF

It needs a bit of work I think Hmm
Wink

PedantMarina · 03/02/2014 17:58

FYC we could have a cheesecake-making tent at Feistival!

my best 'basic' recipe is: 4-5 tubs of aldi or lidl low-fat soft cheese, 4-5 eggs, c.1/2 cup sugar, vanilla extract, almond extract. whizz all together, pour over base (to be discussed in a moment). bake on highest for c.5 minutes, then on 190c for 20 minutes, then check. when golden brown on top, it's done. let cool slowly (initially just crack the cooker door), eventually put in fridge. if the top cracks just cover it with jam.

base: normal is 1/2 pk digestives & melted butter, but I love simply mushing up chocolate filled oreos, no butter needed.

once you're happy with the basics you can really have fun: booze (not too much though, it ruins the texture), crumbled or grated chocolates, swirl of softened /thinned peanut butter, syrups. go nuts.

Jux · 03/02/2014 19:19

The cheesecake was very very scrumptious, not at all like cheesecak Grin. Very easy. Not sure I really used either recipe but an amalgamation of them? No cooking as I didn't use the eggs. No low fat soft cheese for us either! (That's why I weigh so much more now than I did a few years ago.)

Anyway, it was yum all the way. I am willing to share with you all. Just about Wink

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 03/02/2014 19:27

Uni, Toffee, mistle and Yoshi, awesome. I am --> Grin

Enrique, I've just been singing that to dh, he is very impressed (as am I)

Pedant, I will have to give it a go and not at all rely on the cheesecake tent for my needs

Jux, as dd1 says (whenever I have chocolate) "friends share with friends" (you'll have to picture the fluttering eyelashes and look of pained starvation.

don't worry about the ruts, they will roll out, speak to a local farmer as soon as the ground starts to dry out so that it can be done before it gets too dry/hard. (or you could have a clog dance over the ruts to level them out again!!)

It sounds as though UW has really got the message that you are serious and won't be bullied, I reckon they will be gone pretty soon. They will want to get everything off before the horses so that they can leave a mess and not have to come back and face you!

DON'T let all your lovely guests get too drunk before they have helped clean up a bit for you!! :)

enriquetheringbearinglizard · 03/02/2014 20:37

'putting upon one' is a bit embarrassing, but poetic licence and all that Blush

It scans better in song if you lalala la la la la la la la laa I predict a FF, I predict a FF

But you can obviously make it work Chris Smile

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 03/02/2014 20:42

Tiredout, I think you're right. There seems to be an urgency now that things aren't quite as convenient as once they were. We've just got to be careful not to be too nice now :)

Enrique, I sang it as "I predict an iff-uff, I predict an iff-uff" Grin
