Morgause, now you're talking. Make it so Grin

Jersey, sounds perfect. Just make sure you like me, ok?

thegreylady · 29/01/2014 09:55

I will just dematerialise when the festivities are over. If you see an indistinct shape in a corner with an almost transparent female (fat female) figure draped in grey do not fear. I will not harm any friends of FYC.

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 29/01/2014 10:00

Thrgreylady, :) you're my trump card for clearing the field of any stragglers who might take advantage!

OP posts:
WingDefence · 29/01/2014 10:21

Morning all! How are you feeling today, FYChris?

I've updated the list and have noted that we need a maypole.

Chris you asked what else we needed... I think we'll need the water supply to the field restored if you've cut it off for UW. We might need another marquee or two (Jux is bringing one but she is bring a lot of stuff and what if she forgets something vital? Grin).

Jux btw can my DH have a play with your DH's geetars?!

We've got turdises, cake and gin-in-a-cup tents, pie and cheese, bouncers, staging, a generator (might need more for the catering?). We have barmaids assistants but I'm not aware we have any actual beer being brought yet?! Shock

What else?

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 29/01/2014 10:27

Wing, I'm doing better than yesterday :)

Can we all bring a bottle barrel?

Water will be on.

OP posts:
thegreylady · 29/01/2014 10:31

Is a turdis another word for a portaloo?

WingDefence · 29/01/2014 10:53

So it's BYOB at the FYF! [wishes there was a beer icon]

ThomasLynn · 29/01/2014 11:08

I'm just going to drop in and join Bogey in burning matyrdom.

I'm fine in a tent on the paddock. Really I am. Never mind that's it's 20 degrees cooler than I'm used to and certainly don't worry that my tent is built for Australian climes and doesn't have a fly sheet.
I'm fine.
Really.

As long as you can put my specs on your mantlepiece or whatever so I can find them in the morning, that's great.

Do you mind if I take your milk outside with me? Great, thanks. I'll leave you enough for a cup of tea in the morning.

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 29/01/2014 11:12

Thegreylady I believe so :)

Wing, we need an [ale]

ThomasLynn, that's sooo sweet of you! You and bogey are just darlings! Are you sure you don't mind? Really sure?! Great! Good!

(Does that count as having a backbone?)

OP posts:
ThomasLynn · 29/01/2014 11:31

It does, Chris.

However, although I am outside being drenched and frozed, I have ALL your milk and will likely drink it all.

I think I may also tap at your windows and watch you and Mr Chris do things and then giggle knowingly at breakfast.

Is that PA enough? I'm really bad at PA...

FairPhyllis · 29/01/2014 11:42

About the turdises: I went to a marquee-type wedding once where they had incredibly posh portaloos - I mean, like, significantly posher than any bathroom I had seen. I wanted to take a photo of them. I want those portaloos, please.

DejaVuAllOverAgain · 29/01/2014 11:43

TL you can join me and steppemum un the attic if you want.

ThomasLynn · 29/01/2014 11:53

Oooooh, Deja may I? How kind of you!
I'll bring an electric fire and keep my moaning about the cold to a minimum probably

And the milk. I'm told Welsh milk is nice.

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 29/01/2014 12:43

Hang on a minute, this is sounding familiar... Someone offering up my property to someone else without asking me first...

Hmmmmm...

I can't see any problem with that Grin

OP posts:
FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 29/01/2014 12:44

Is welsh milk especially nice? I have organic welsh milk. I am proper pretentious and only buy what they stock in the local shop the best.

OP posts:
Jux · 29/01/2014 13:19

You know what? if all else fails, I could send my butcher to you. He used to have a small abbatoir out the back of the shop, so he knows exactly what to do. And he makes a fab burger ......

dutchyoriginal · 29/01/2014 13:37

FYC, finally delurking as well.

I'm glad you're feeling a bit better this morning. I know the sinking feeling of looking around in my house and life and realizing how much work getting through "the big picture" will be. Am pregnant now, with a house full of our own mess and the detritus of two previous generations of in-laws, know we will have to create a lovely room for DS1 and then get everything ready for baby, while working full time and both DH and me are dead tired all the time. :-(

Doing what you are doing, splitting everything up in smaller tasks and concentrating on those, definitely helps. Sending you a hug!

dutchyoriginal · 29/01/2014 13:51

Sorry for rambling Blush

enriquetheringbearinglizard · 29/01/2014 13:55

I'm all lagged behind. I don't know how you keep up Chris - wonderwoman.
See you haven't felt too grand, so I come bearing Brew Cake Thanks and Wine for later.

The weather is just pig awful, I'm behind with work and my house is a mess. I saw a thread about 'what's your upstairs like' visualised my upstairs and ran away to here instead Grin

By the way, two men in full armour walk into a hotel reception and one says
'Can we have a room for two knights please' boom boom.

I'm not even in the shed or a cellar now am I? I just know I've been redeployed to the next field down the lane Blush

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 29/01/2014 14:23

Jux, that'll be plan B

Dutchy, delurker! Grin it's tough isn't it. But somehow you get by. It was only a couple of years ago that I was working full time, commuting an hour either way, and single parent to 3 dcs. Admittedly the house was a tip, but it was clean!

Now I'm married, have a new born and work part time (although currently on mat leave), and it really is a good life.

Nothing is organised, but there's a lot of love.

Bleurgh at the soppy bit.

Enrique,I saw that thread and thought "this is a thread for people who haven't put the washing away yet or quite got round to making the bed. This is not a thread for the likes of me"

I like that joke. It's a good joke. We'll squeeze you in somewhere.

I've got a horrible feeling the festival is going to end up in the house and I'm going to end up alone in the field!

Err you do realize that you and your family are actually the main attraction Chris? otherwise any old field, any old where would do. And then the event would simply be a F not a FYFâ„¢

IdaBlankenship · 29/01/2014 15:16

As you family are the main attraction, can you become a Von Trapp style singing troupe. You guys can send us off to our tents / sheds / attics / winnebagos at night with an "Adieu, adieu to you & you & yooooooo!"

IdaBlankenship · 29/01/2014 15:17

your not you .. doh

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 29/01/2014 15:20

Ida ds2, dd1 and dh would love that. I mean really love it. I mean, you'd probably need some kind of cricket bat to get them to stop.

Enrique, me?! What's the fun in seeing me?! I'm just... Me.

OP posts:
IdaBlankenship · 29/01/2014 15:23

I'm picturing your DH sitting by the campfire singing Edelweiss with a wistful look in his eye as we all sit around his feet gazing adoringly.
