I've delurked to the point of actually registering with MN, to say that you are all barking, but fabulous!

I Love the poetry and am sure your fest will be legend!

Pixel · 24/01/2014 19:53

Chris, that's the beauty of it, you won't have to do any weeding because you can just call everything that isn't veg a wild flower Smile.

(just been down allotment all afternoon as otherwise I'll be getting a weed notice. Not sure if telling the council man I'm cultivating dandelions for my chickens will work).

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 24/01/2014 20:00

Downtheroad :) that makes you a full on delurker! I am most honoured.

Pixel, that's my kind of gardening!

Mrsmot, I suspect you might be right... Are mumsnetters stackable?

WingDefence · 24/01/2014 20:28

UW doesn't stand a hope in hell

Grin Actually that's the only place I think she'll get any respite from us vipers!

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 24/01/2014 20:36

Wing Grin fair point, well made.

I'm in and I shall bring a packet of pens

Really really important to have a working pen.

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 24/01/2014 20:52

Qod will you mind if I keep one? I won't mean to, but I have terminal pen-kleptomania.

OP posts:
QOD · 24/01/2014 21:07

Of course you can keep one! It probably won't work though, will be a pack of 10 form the pound shop

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 24/01/2014 21:15

Would you like some fucking great idle noisy dope smoking chain saw wielding heavy metal loving big tall twenty something young men. They can drive, er persuade anyone to move.

DameDeepRedBetty · 24/01/2014 21:33

I gave DP a box of 50 pens from the poundshop for Christmas, marked as 'from the House Gremlin'. Have already stolen four from it...

I've already been caught three times tonight giggling like a loon as I read through the updates... both dds think I'm insane, but being intelligent children have written it off as 'Mummy's been on Mumsnet again' and are being terribly understanding.

And will be nominating this for Classics, this is far more what MN is about than PenisBeaker and if that can get in then this certainly deserves it!

ShimmeringInTheSun · 24/01/2014 21:41

When all of this has been turned into an EPIC MOVIE we can use the music from the link below in the final scene of righteous and passionate drama, where the horse and UW is ousted, and OP is carried shoulder high around the field by mumsnet amazons on her victory lap of honour, as all battle warrioresses should be!

I have crossed everything that this link works .....to be played at
full volume!

ShimmeringInTheSun · 24/01/2014 21:42

OH YEAH....IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 24/01/2014 21:54

Hurray for pens

Blush Betty, thanks :)

Ohwhat, I've got a load of trees that need chopping so yes please!

Shimmering, perfect !

God I have just trawled through the old and this thread!! What a bloody situation but also it is great to see we weren't the only people who had shit like this to deal with on house move!! But I have to say yours is much worse-we threatened that horse would be PTS if still on our land when we moved in and it was gone! (Still had to deal with loads of other items left for collection at a later date that we couldn't dispose of as they weren't legally ours, plus huge muck heaps that were meant to be removed etc etc.....anyway it was a long time ago now!).
Another voice to add to the-they are taking the piss crowd. You cannot be held to ransom over the fact that they cannot find somewhere to go. Many people have horses and lose land or grazing and if they are completely stuck then the horses go to the sales. If they can't bear to do that then they will have to make the decision to PTS themselves. Unfortunately there are more people with horses and no land then there are people with land that is available to horses. There is this odd attitude, particularly in the horse world, that if someone has land then to not fill it with horses (or livestock) is a travesty. We have had requests from horsey people to graze our land-who cannot understand why we say no! They will not hear that we don't want to overstock it and therefore keep some clear to rotate our own horses and sheep onto! We have had people asking to walk their dogs round our fields so they can let them off for a good run and a shit! Oh yes-please do-we'll keep our dogs and cats and sheep out of the way so you can do it!!
There are too many unusable horses in the country-either old, or ill or lame or unbroken and unfortunately sometimes the only decision is for them to be PTS as no one is going to take them on. I imagine these people aren't looking that hard for somewhere to move to as they will not want to pay the livery costs that come with having horses when you don't have land. They are just hoping that some nice animal lover will offer them another free spot and tbh there are fewer and fewer of them around now.
Hope it all goes in your favour but don't be emotionally blackmailed. It is your dream house and you should be able to do what you want with it!

Freckletoes · 24/01/2014 22:11

And the fest sounds fab!!Grin

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 24/01/2014 22:15

Thanks freckle :) sorry to hear you had similar. Sounds like you were far more sensible about it all. You wouldn't believe some of the stuff they left. Most worthless, but some amazing and some terrifying things too. We haven't sorted through all the things in the sheds yet. Lots has been destroyed by leaky roofs, but not all.

OP posts:
Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 24/01/2014 22:33

One of these horses, is it very old, could be an ex racehorse?
(Oh if ANYONE would like said twenty somethings, you are quite welcome. I've been told they are quite "fit"....they can roadie for the festival then)

Freckletoes · 24/01/2014 22:37

Oh it all sounds so similar!! But our vendors were not SN and were known to us. They were just lazy slack ass wasters who took the piss! We had to go into rented for a month as they refused to move on the due date and the whole chain was going to collapse. So in an area that had been hit by the floods of 2007 and had nothing to rent-we had to move family of 5 plus countless animals into various temporary accommodations and send all belongings into storage! Cost a bloody fortune! Their solicitor said they wanted to come back for field shelters, machinery etc, they also left furniture they couldn't get out as it had been brought in through a window-god it was a nightmare!! And a neighbour saying they had left stuff for them too-so similar! Amazed that possession isn't 9/10ths of the law and we couldn't get rid of stuff as it was legally theirs! They never did come back for it though-we had got so arsey with them! We did very kindly get lots of lovely letters from speed cameras, parking attendants, the taxman, local companies chasing up bills, utilities companies chasing up bills to keep us amused. Also a fair few visits from debt collectors and bailiffs trying to find them! And the leaky roofs and tumble down walls and rotting oven and peed soaked carpet and buckets and buckets of dog shit-I mean literally all gathered up into buckets and left!! LOL-I hated this place for years!! The things you put up with to own a bit of land!!

FryOneFatManic · 24/01/2014 22:38

I used to be a barmaid many, many years ago (it's how I met DP).

I'd be happy to man woman? the beer tent and can also provide bouncer cover if required Grin

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 24/01/2014 22:45

Fry, you're hired!

Freckle, that sounds uncannily similar Shock sadly our dog shit wasn't in buckets, it was on the piss soaked carpets. Fun times.

But it will all be worth it!

Ohwhat that's great not swayed by the fitness at all, oh no

OP posts:
Freckletoes · 24/01/2014 22:49

Piss soaked carpets never clean so don't even try! Unfortunately pissed soaked floorboards don't fair much better. And our piss wasn't animal......

PedantMarina · 24/01/2014 22:55

FYC, when you mentioned handfasting and an appreciation of All Things Vike, I wondered how is it we're not best friends by now.

And then that poem. I now in love with you. hell, DP is in live with you (he was pretty notorious on the filking convention circuit back in the day).

Oh, to the LARPer who suggested the rattle of armour, shouldn't that be the clatter of plastic? [authenti-smug-icon].

AlpacaPicnic · 24/01/2014 22:55

I am kind of delurking to offer my babysitting at the FYF... I can keep toddlers amused for whole minutes with my bad renditions of popular childrens classics such as 'Horsey Horsey', 'She'll be coming round the mountain' and 'Old MacDonald'

I can also bring a Baileys and Toblerone Cheesecake or ten two...

I got totally busted reading this thread at work earlier... I lost it at the image of factory farmed horses with chickens filling in the gaps!

DangerousBeanz · 24/01/2014 23:01

De-lurking to mention my neighbour, who owes me a favour, and his real ale micro brewery.
If I can come I can also add 2 mad cats, my 22 year old squaddie DS and all his mates, my 4 yo dd who I can give a recorder to if necessary and my ex regimental sergeant major DH with a big voice who can organise all the squaddies if need be. Security? Crowd control?
Well done OP you are coping marvelously, I too have PND and it's hard enough to deal with without UW being a biatch.

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 24/01/2014 23:05

Alpaca, no "horsey horsey" and you've got yourself a deal :)

Freckle, we spent a satisfying weekend burning all the carpets and floorboards. Given that the bonfire was sodden and it was still raining, my god it went up fast.

In the bathroom there was a leak in the toilet waste pipe. Their solution? Put a bowl underneath it... An overflowing bowl that had clearly been overflowing for years

We ran out of money before we got to sorting the kitchen. It was very therapeutic smashing it with a sledge hammer. So we ended up making a hodge podge one out of mismathching cupboards and reclaimed kitchen cabinets. I spent one whole day trying to hang cabinet doors and failing to get them straight. I couldn't understand it. I'd just hung 6 others, why wouldn't these work? Then dh came home and pointed out that the cabinet was far from square Grin

One day we'll put a proper kitchen in and it won't be nearly as nice.

Pedant :) I'd consider it an honour. But don't disillusion me... It's real armour, right? Right?!
