I am not sure if this is the right place for this but my mum (EMIN) had asked us to keep her mumsnet friends updated on her cancer battle.

I have already posted on the 'cancer' thread but wanted to make sure I had done what she wanted.

Mum - wife, mother of three, foster mother to over 80 children and grandmother of one - passed away peacefully in her sleep at 2:50 this morning. We were all with her, holding her hand and telling her we loved her.

Yesterday all of her family came to visit and they spent time with her, each of them getting their private time to talk to her and just be there with her and for her.

All she had ever wanted was to be at home with her family around her and she got exactly what she wanted. She will be missed so very much and we are devastated that she was taken so early.

She loved to read threads on fostering as babies were her life. She lurked a fair bit and would just offer words of guidance, comfort or encouragement where she felt she could help. In later months as she fought cancer she concentrated more on the cancer thread and I know it gave her some comfort.

She would have been 60 in October and we are devastated she never got to have her big family party but we get some comfort from the fact that all of her loved ones were with her yesterday.

I don't know how many people she communicated with outside of the boards or if any crossedover to real life but if anyone is interested in coming to the funeral once it is arranged then by all means drop me a private message and I can pass on the details.

I'm so sorry to hear this. It seems so wrong that someone who gave so much should be lost so soon. EMIN was one of those posters whose name always made me want to read what she said. A truly inspirational woman and clearly much loved.
RIP EMIN
Best wishes for the whole family.

RIP EMIN. Thanks

Daughter of EMIN. I did not have the pleasure of reading your mums posts but your words about your mum and from others on here show what a remarkable and composed lady she was.

Love and strength to your family.

So sorry for your loss. Your mum was a wonderful lady, from your post and her previous posts, you could tell how kind, thoughtful and lovely she was. Putting so much time and energy into fostering so many children is simply an amazing to do and I'm sure she was a fantastic mum to you and your siblings.

I hope you can take comfort in your memories. Look after yourself and your family. Thinking of you and your lovely Mum. Thanks

I am sorry for your family's loss.
Your Mum changed lives, and not just the lives of those she cared for, but the influence her character has had on people she never met.
Please let us know the time of the celebration of her life, as I for one would like to spend some time in reflection.
