Im here love!! Tom is really poorly - hacking cough, snotty nose and temperature. Rang the duty doctor for advice about 2 and a half hours ago - still waiting for them to ring me back.

You're right Frumpster has a brilliant way with words - she paints fantastic pictures xx

curiositykilled · 13/09/2009 15:27

Poor Tomster - one thing after another. Are you thinking the dreaded pig flu?

dizzymare · 13/09/2009 15:30

I'm here as well, I've got ds in bed with me at the moment with a magazine and biscuit

Sorry to hear your boys not feeling well shabbs x

curiositykilled · 13/09/2009 15:31

dizzymare · 13/09/2009 15:34

I had some lime jelly earlier, I can't get enough of it Plus it stays down

My bed's getting more biscuit than ds's mouth

curiositykilled · 13/09/2009 15:36

Oooo lime jelly... I would like butterscotch angel delight... properly made angel delight that has been whipped to get it fluffy and chilled within an inch of it's life....

dizzymare · 13/09/2009 15:40

Not had angel delight for years God I fancy that as well now, but strawberry. I remember having it as a kid with a blob of cream on top, really thick stuff

shabbapinkfrog · 13/09/2009 15:47

Im not thinking piggy flu - but Tom is worried sick about it they are so dramatic at this age. Just before Christmas last year myself and Tom had the most dreadful flu - we sat on the sofa with a big quilt over us watching tv and we woke up, still in the same position, about 36 hours later. We were so ill - I reckon we may have had the piggy flu then.

curiositykilled · 13/09/2009 15:54

Well, piggy flu is no better or worse than normal flu. Tell Tom he'll be alright whatever it is. The reason people worry about pig flu is because there was no vaccine to stop those at risk catching it. Toms not in the 'at risk' group if he doesn't normally get a flu vaccine in winter but even if he does he should be fine. It's a big fuss about not very much. He's probably just getting worried cos of his temp, makes you irrational.... poor tom.

They finally rang back!!! Viral cough FFS no cough medicines are worth buying and he cant prescribe him antibiotics.

He assured Tom that it wasnt the piggy flu!!! When he asked him to tell him what was wrong Tom ended his list with 'oh yes and my pumps stink'

When I talked to the duty doctor he said he liked the sound of my lad

He just had a big bowl of oxtail soup and a massive glass of lucozade LOL - will be pulling him off the ceiling in a little bit - he usually has diet pop but adores lucozade! He will be having his own private rave in the kitchen - glo sticks and everything!

dizzymare · 13/09/2009 16:43

I'll join him in his rave, am sure I can still waddle to a banging tune or two

kathryn2804 · 13/09/2009 17:17

Have to say, pain was not a problem!!

I would try for a natural if you can!! The recovery time afterwards is soooo much better.

shabbapinkfrog · 13/09/2009 21:44

Evening girls - everybody OK?

Night Dizzy - Hiya Trips xxx

shabbapinkfrog · 13/09/2009 23:35

I could quite easily lay down on the floor and paddy. Just said to Dizzy I am going checking on Tom - he has a really high temp, barking cough and snotty nose.

Tom: Mum, Mum, Muuuuuuuuuuuuum, Muuuuummmm (screeching the last one)

Me: Whats wrong (trying not to match his hysterical screaming)

Tom: (I thought he said this) there's a boy in my room and he is after me.....

Me:

Tom: its on the wall, its on the wall!!!

I got in his room and it was a farking daddy long legs!! He is terrified of spiders, moths and daddy long legs!!! I walked in, killed the swine and walked out again. Went back in , tucked him in and then came down and had a small sob!! I think madness is genetic

triplets · 13/09/2009 23:38

Shabs.........d`y ever think us mums will stop worrying?

MarsLady · 13/09/2009 23:38

I'm a greataunt. He was born this morning at 7.31am. I need to go to bed. zzzzzz

shabbapinkfrog · 13/09/2009 23:42

Congratulations Tallulah Doolah - Great Aunt eh??? I will be one of those on Christmas Day

Trips - the night before Matt was killed he came in my room and said 'There's a boy in my room, he looks just like me. He asked me to go with him but I dont want to.' I took him back to his bed (WHY????) and tucked him in. The next day, in the afternoon he was killed. OH MY FARKING GOD Tom really upset me then....he didnt mean to but I feel as sick as a dog.

triplets · 13/09/2009 23:46

Oh darling Shabs, go sleep in Tomsters room tonight if you can, keep him off of school tomorrow as he is poorly anyway, nothing is going to happen but it will make you feel better having him with you. I understand your fright, I dont think it will ever leave us, I am trying to get school to take me seriously as I want to buy a defib for school to give me peace of mind. I know already they just think Im a neurotic old mum!

shabbapinkfrog · 13/09/2009 23:48

I knew you would understand my dear friend. I honestly could throw up right now!! Feel old, knackered, scared and useless tonight xxxx

shabbapinkfrog · 13/09/2009 23:51

One of Matts favourite songs

I need to calm down and stop being pathetic. Matt loved Vincent Van Gogh - said that he was a bit mad but he loved his paintings
