Found you Feeling abit stressy, had a funny sort of indigestion for two days now, feel as though I can`t swallow, tried everything, still got pain in my side and now to add to the rest of my probs, James has got.....................................................................ringworm........its making me feel sick just the thought of it........must be the cats. Took him to the docs after scanning my Dr Miriam Stoppard health bible, doc said "oh yes its a mild dose of ringworm, no special precautions neccessary, just put this cream on once a day". Well Dr Miriam says it is very infectious so I am keeping well away..........ells bells girls what next?

Pixie - can I offer some advice? If you are struggling to know what to say to a Mum who has been bereaved of one of her twins - please just speak honestly and openly. There are still times when I think 'I cant go on the multiple thread - my baby twin, Gareth, is not still here and I feel like an imposter. Nobody on this lovely thread has ever made me feel this way - its just me.

When a new mum comes on here who is expecting twins I try to 'skirt' around the issue - I try to not mention the fact that one of my twins died....but he did!! He really, really did!!! I dont know how we coped, I wish we didnt have to and I hate not being a multiple mum 'physically' any more.

Food, shopping, a listening ear, a pair of broad shoulders for her to cry on....all these things really, really help. Please dont hide your precious twins from her...just say something like 'I cant imagine how things have been for you and I hope I never offend you.' Good luck my dear friend - everything will be ok.xxx

xxxx

curiositykilled · 13/09/2009 09:08

Oh shabs I know it doesn't matter what anyone says but I NEED you here xxx

Pixi - I am the same. It's interesting you say that about being sad in childhood. If my experience is anything to go by you should stay WELL away from studying Psychology! I enjoyed Sociology much, much more. Psychology was just a bit too close for comfort!

I made DH stop the car to ask a little boy (looked about 8) if he was OK the other day because we'd seen him walking about all ,on his own, with a big backpack and I was worried he was running away! I said I didn't want to interfere in his adventure but that I was worried because I'd seen him walking around all day without any friends and asked if he was OK and if he needed to use my phone to call anyone. He said no and we had to leave him. I worried about him ALL night but short of kidnapping him there wasn't much else we could have done and he probably was just having an adventure anyway... He was probably 14 and very insulted... I hope...

estar - I found the belt very helpful, it appears to have worked in a preventative capacity. I've had it since around week 20 and worn it often, my spd seems to have improved since then That's probably a combination of the belt and complete inactivity

London lottie - I got mine from the midwife at our hospital but you can buy them from the ossur website here To put it on you fasten the bottom prong around your hips, then the middle above that, then the top one last and then you lift the bump up a bit from inside it so that the belt is supporting the weight of the bump and the pad at the back is supporting your Sacroiliac joint (the triangular join thing at the back of your pelvis) and your lower back. Mine normally takes some shuftying around till it feels comfy, don't be tempted to fasten it too tight as it just makes the babies kick it and it gets uncomfortable. You have to take it off to sit down too.

Apparently you should put on between 30lbs and 45lbs with twins, I'm nearly to the 45lb limit at 32+5. I know what you mean about the feeling of the bump being unstable. Mine felt like it was bottom heavy and pulling me down in mid-pregnancy. Everything felt better with the belt.

shabbapinkfrog · 13/09/2009 10:31

I only put on 18lbs with my two mind you I was the size of a small house before I got pregnant!! Also had 'all day' sickness with them for the full 9 months.

curiositykilled · 13/09/2009 10:49

I can't understand how I've put on so much. I've hardly been able to eat and have had terrible vomiting, the bump is neat, midwives are often surprised by it, the bubs must just be monsters! I con't see where the weight is going, I have put on a stone since 27 weeks but the bump doesn't appear bigger. I am worrying this week though as I appear to have lost 2lbs... strange...

shabbapinkfrog · 13/09/2009 10:58

Oh, that rings a bell!! My lads were born at 38 weeks and in the last few days before I had them I lost weight - cant remember how much but I remember being suprised. It was probably the shock of finding out it was twins only 10 days before

dizzymare · 13/09/2009 11:14

Morning all x

curiositykilled · 13/09/2009 11:30

Oh they shouldn't be born yet though shabs! Twin 1's head is not engaged yet, I shall get more palpating from 'Dr Liz' (my sis) today to check though.

Hi dizzy, fg.

OP posts:
shabbapinkfrog · 13/09/2009 11:36

No they shouldn't arrive now - more 'cooking' needed first!! Oh I do like a good palpate

curiositykilled · 13/09/2009 11:49

Yes, more cooking... at least another 9 days. I suspect (and hope) they'll be around 39 weeks cos that'll be great for DS - half term... The weight loss is probably just from being more active on holiday and taking DS to and from school on the bus. Didn't expect it to have made a huge difference but I suppose if you are carrying an extra 3 stones then any movement will have a bigger effect.
