pinkfrogsroastingonanopenfire · 13/12/2008 17:06

HM - if you find out will you let me know

pinkfrogsroastingonanopenfire · 13/12/2008 17:13

Hiya Large glass.....hang on for the other girls coming on here. I almost had an undiagnosed twin birth in 1981 if thats of any use to you!!!!!!! Diagnosed on the 18th December and born on the 28th December at 38 weeks!!!!!

Between us ladies on here there are millions of babies - slight over exageration but done for the shock factor - millions and millions x 2.

Are you thinking of doing that?

pinkfrogsroastingonanopenfire · 13/12/2008 17:14

I dont mean having millions of babies I mean a home birth with twins

pinkfrogsroastingonanopenfire · 13/12/2008 17:15

Just had a nosey on your pics large glass! Beautiful looking family xx

LargeGlassofRed · 13/12/2008 17:22

ah thanks pinkfrogs, was one of the first things I thought of when they said its twins.
Long way off am only 10 weeks but it playing on my mind.
DD's both born at home with dd2 in a pool.
Would dearly love to do it at home again, but need to find out more info realy obviously wouldn't do it if its considered dangerous.

Also have the advantage of the hospital being about 3 mins walk away

pinkfrogsroastingonanopenfire · 13/12/2008 17:25

Congratulations my love. xxx

LargeGlassofRed · 13/12/2008 17:27

pinkfrogsroastingonanopenfire · 13/12/2008 18:34

Twins are very, very special. All our children are I know that BUT Twins just are very special. xxx

HarktheHarrogateMumissinging · 13/12/2008 19:35

hello LargeGlass! I am passing through quickly on my way to a few Xmas drinks two doors up (its another Joester Shabs!!). I will report back in about 2.5 hours, I may not make much sense then.

PS LargeGlass, afraid my twin birth was full on hospital monitored, on the bed, room full of people type birth - but it was via the normal route!

HarktheHarrogateMumissinging · 13/12/2008 19:35

ps Shabs - looks like me and you only need a two man tent then! Oh no wait, Rubes was here earlier, a three man!

frumpygrumpy · 13/12/2008 21:36

Largeglass, congratulations! Tis a lovely thing having twins! burns diary

I'm not sure many people opt for a home birth with twins.....so much needs to be taken into consideration. I had a very straightforward pregnancy and birth but even so, I was very glad to be in hospital hearing the team standing outside my door and knowing they were just a whisper away should I need them to ensure my babies safety. As it happened I had bottom door births (one breech) with one retained placenta and so needed to go into theatre 30minutes after the last birth. It was all very straightforward but I was glad to have all the care right there should I have needed more. I did have to have heart monitors for both babies and me and that is quite comforting.

My advice would be to wait and see later. See how you feel once you have started on the whole ride of scans and the massive journey that it is. Its a lovely, lovely journey. I still feel very, very special.

frumpygrumpy · 13/12/2008 21:40

I think what I'm trying to say is that even if everything looks straightforward it can change in a moment with twins. There is a lot of space in there for the second baby to whirl round once the first one is out and therefore easy to block the exit........amongst other things

LargeGlassofRed · 13/12/2008 21:54

thanks frumpy, am sure once I'm futher down the line I'll be more clued up,

Had ds in hospital and although it was a quick straight forward birth I hated the hospital experiance.

Although that was 11 yrs ago and in a different town,
do twin births usually take longer btw?

HarktheHarrogateMumissinging · 13/12/2008 22:27

am home.

And there is no water.

Rung the water board who say they are "working on it". Not good when you have had a gutful and need a glass of H20!!

silentnightnotatripletinsight · 13/12/2008 22:57

Then of course some of us have had *three babies

silentnightnotatripletinsight · 13/12/2008 23:14

Here I am at long last and only missed by Pinkfrog I see
Been run off my fet the last two days, baking fairy cakes for the school fayre last night, I have earned myself the reputation as the cake lady and have foolishly promised to carry it on even though my kids won`t be at the school next Christmas...........feel sad about that.............

Right, still got my nagging pain, its getting me down, so got a docs appt next Frid for a second opinion, and praying it will be IBS and nothing more worrying. Poor Harry has had a very rough couple of days, lots of abdominal pain, can`t eat and generally feeling low, awful to see him like it. James got upset again the other day as Harry looked dreadful and James cannot cope with it.

NOW FOR MY BIG NEWS
I am bursting with pride, the headmistress called me into the office on Thurs to tell me that Rebecca won the design a Christmas card competition, and that it has been printed up and will be on sale at the Christmas fair, which was last night. I immediately bought 20 of them.
Then she said Rebecca has also won another competition, all her class were taken last week to the local church which sits on a hill over looking the sea. They had to study the stain glass windows, then design their own. Rebeccas was chosen as the winner because what she designed was the view looking through the window to the sea, the church, the beach, the sea, the cliffs of France, but she cleverly put the schools logo in, a sailing ship, the colours also were beautiful. She as far as I know isnt getting a prize..............BUT her design is actually going to be made into a real stained glass window in her school!! It will be in the entrance and about 4x4! To think it will be there for-ever, I am sooooooooo proud of her, I was so gob smacked when the head told me, I wanted to cry...........something lovely to end the year on!!
