And something crazy inside me said I would abstain from alcohol from yesterday until Christmas (with the exception of the XFactor final!!).

Why did I think that would do me good?

Awwwww Frumpster.

'While you are there put the kettle on' shouts DH. MALAKER I mutter under my breath in my best Greek. 'Why have you not washed my 'lucky shirt' for the Pool competition tonight. 'I have been hand washing for nearly two months and the new washer only came today you arse hole' said Elanor Rigby. 'Well if you get up off your lardy behind and get a wriggle on you can get it done before I go out.'

pinkfrogsroastingonanopenfire · 11/12/2008 16:43

BTW - I only called him an arse hole with the silent open mouth

frumpygrumpy · 11/12/2008 22:13

DP and me are still not talking. I have just finished a casserole (got parents coming tomorrow evening, mum's birthday) and hoped I could slink off to bed with tea and a book before him and relax in peace for a bit.......but he's just jumped in....

Well , I just gotta keep on going. There's nothing else for it. Especially since santa claus is coming to town

G'night girls, sleep long, tight and peaceful remember xxx.

Oh a thousand f*&$cks! I have just had an email form work saying they had calculated my leave wrong and I am required to go back on 2/1/09 not 2/2/09. Bastids [anry]. I dont know whether to scream or cry. I think if I start sobbing I wont stop. tits Oh blast.
Big sis still hasnt phone to wish me happy birthday (for last sunday). But I'm not bitter MUCH!

frumpygrumpy · 11/12/2008 22:35

Oh merly, thats crap! I'd suggest they split it with you so you go back halfway through jan.

MERLYPUSSEDASAFART · 11/12/2008 22:49

Good idea FG but I bet they wont buy it. Do you think I should phone big sis and ask her if she has forgotten my Birthday ? I am really upset about it. She seems to have distanced herself so much since the DTs came along. I want to have it out with her but dont know how to....... hmmm.

Hiya girls. Remember I told you about my niece (how the hell do you spell my SIL's daughter - it looks wrong) little girl Beth? She has been back in hospital again for the last two weeks. My nieces sister has had her first child in the meantime....a little boy called Jack on the 5th November. My poor niece sounds overwhelmed with jealousy...and love. I have just posted a message on facebook to say welcome to the world Jack........also said 'I understand how annoying it is when another healthy child comes into the family...I remember when my twins were born and then one by one other DC came along. I wanted to shout and scream 'I am so jealous, I wish Gareth was well, I am so glad that your baby is well but one of my twins is very, very ill.' I have offered her support and a refuge to run to when things get bad. I am kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place. Anyone got any good ideas?

pinkfrogsroastingonanopenfire · 12/12/2008 00:33

Good night girls xx

TeaSleepInASproutFartHaze · 12/12/2008 08:19

Morning ladies,
crikey I've only been out of action few days and the season is losing it's merriness.

Frogs - I think offering the support is all you can do at the mo. It's so hard to be the one who has the resentful (?probably the wrong word) feelings over happy news. You know YABU but can't help it. I found just knowing other people have been there helps, and talked when ready. HOw was your night with rObbie?

Pixi - can I join your poorly-twins-no-sleep-lap-not-big-enough club? Mine had flu for over a week (including their 1st birthday) then vomitting. DS has gone 36 hours not being able to keep water down, but last night he did (manage). For the first time since they were little we fell asleep in a heap on the sofa (health visitors close your ears).

To add to it all, I have a works do to go to tonight and feel fat a nd lumpy and haven't bought any smart clothes for over 2 years (due to being fat and lumpy and a mum).

on the plus side I have just got very excited as I read the mumsnet parenting news email round up thing this morning and my recipe is the recipe of the week (swoon)! How proud am I to have been noticed (albeit under a previous name).

wow Rubes what are you going to do with him? I have work right up until Xmas Eve (boooo). Was hoping to get away at about 1pm on Xmas Eve but dont know if I will be able to as the boss had planned to do all the Employee of the year type awards then....

My children are playing an "its Xmas Day" game - putting up their stockings and getting imaginary chocolate santas out. Its very entertaining!

HarktheHarrogateMumissinging · 12/12/2008 17:41

pinkfrogsroastingonanopenfire · 12/12/2008 18:41

Ds1 had his school play/carols today. He was diagnosed with an ear infection yesterday (gp showed me the blister inside his ear) but I just couldn't let him miss out going. Twas lovely and the first school/nursery type event dh has been able to attend, although he had to walk out halfway through as dts decided enough was enough and it was more fun to fight each other saying loudly "there, kick" instead of watching big brother on the stage. I spent most of show with Prince attached like limpet to bobo to keep him quiet and dd1 was bored stiff except for the songs she knows where upon she belted the out full volume .

I met my new HV yesterday, she's going to assess DT2 in the new year and refer him to paediatrician for his screaming/delayed development.

I've had headache and rosy cheeks all day so hope I'm not going to get the dts cold but since they've been spluttering all over me for days I don't see how I can avoid it.

I can't get my head around xmas being so soon. I feel so unprepared.
