Hiya Pixie - that you dont feel good.

Em and Dan just came to visit with Lew. I have been an interfering MIL but it went down very well . I just came straight out with my prepared speech!!

'Right you two, I have decided that once a week you are going to go out on a date and I will have Lewis. You dont have to go for a drink or a meal but you have to be together. You are amazing parents but you need to remember yourselves. Im not taking no for an answer, I love you both too much.'

Em went and Dan went then Em said 'my health visitor said that. Right Dan, next week we are going to the cinema and leaving Lewis with your mum, and we are not going to ring up every few minutes.'

Phew - got away with that - this time!!

Oh Shabs you are a wonderful mother to them both. I think some fun nights out will do Em the world of good. Really hoping she starts to pick up soon. If its any consolation I found having DS1 so tough. I'd wanted him for ages (took almost a year to fall pg) but the reality of this new bundle I didn't know what to do with was not the same as I had envisaged and it really knocked my confidence for a while. It took DD1 (19mths later) to teach me to relax and just enjoy being a mum. She's so, so lucky to have you.

Thank you Pixie - I was bossy tonight but I think if someone is depressed it is hard to make decisions - I have been thinking about saying something for a few days and I just thought 'oh sod it - they cant stay mad at me for long!'

I reckon a baby is the most overwhelming, all consuming, hard work that was ever invented

It has loads of highs but so many lows.

I really hope you soon feel better xx

One exhausted mother of four collapses at her pc.........................sitting here looking like Jack Duckworth off of Corrie, broken my reading glassesso they are wobbling across my nose!! Well my poor H is back in hospital, it was such an effort to even get him there. The consultant and the stoma nurse were very concerned, his blood pressure was very high and his heart beat was racing, plus his creatine? levels were high(kidneys), and he is totally dehydrated. He told them he was drinking enough, but they knew dfferent. I really had hoped they would keep him, another day left here and I think he would have fainted, he was so weak. Poor thing though, usual cry, no beds, so he is in A&E on a trolley for the night having 3 litres of fluids. If he is looking better hell come home tomorrow, chemo will restart next week. They did not have the CT scan result, done 4 weeks ago! Said they would chase it up and tell him tomorrow, but of course I wont be there! I am shattered! Thank you all for being so worried about him xxx
Thank you Shabs for my song xxxx

Shabs.......I love moustaches....fear not! I used to love Tom Selleck, but hated his soppy voice. My pen-pal in the States once sent me a Magnum PI calender, God I had Febuary pinned up for years, used to really annoy H! When we were going out together he tried to grow moustache to please me, it reminded me of a weasel and I laughed, out came the Gillette!

shabster · 17/07/2008 23:32

Now that Joe Brown version instantly brought back a memory. We love that track but sung by Jimmy Durante, on one of our many trips to the ivf clinic in Hammersmith, we went for a walk and found this fantastic record shop, and bought a cd of J D`s and it was brilliant!

triplets · 17/07/2008 23:44

It's my DTs' last day at 3 Monkeys today. End of 12 years for the Mars family in total! Will probably sniffle a bit. There's Sports Day this afternoon for DD2.

Tomorrow I'll be up before God to collect DD1 from the airport. She's coming home from Canada
