Thought it might be a good idea to have a separate thread for a meet up if we are serious about doing it (I know I am, what a laugh it would be!!).

Put your name down here and when we get a few names I will give out my email address so we can sort it properly rather than online.

I think the following are interested - take your name off and copy and paste if not, add if interested!!

So far thinking maybe a house in the Cotswolds or somewhere Midlands-ish to cater for all!

HM
FG
Dingdong
Triplets
Momma
Tkb
Estar
Chops?????

HarrogateMum · 25/01/2008 10:10

Triplets - I am sure there would be someone else in London who might be driving who could take you - it seems to me that half of Mumsnet lives in the big smoke!

triplets, if you can get to anywhere in the east berkshire area easier, you can come the rest of the way with me. I'm heading straight up the m40, I don't mind taking a couple with me.

Chopster · 25/01/2008 10:32

hm, is there parking?

TripleyTigger · 25/01/2008 10:34

I am very reading this thread!!!!

Tigger has to bow out I'm afraid

As this is going to be a major --piss- up mmet up with drinkies, it would be awful to have my company.
There is nothing worse than being around someone who doesn't drink,or someone who doesn't drink being around those who do!!

Also we do not have a car at the moment, and there is NO WAY i a travelling with my lot!! (especially whilst I am still on nicotine withdrawl)

And as for leaving them at home with Dh..........LOL PMSL ROFL!!!!!!!

And also I am a little bit afraid of meeting you all, I think I might be the Vicky Pollard of the bunch

TripleyTigger · 25/01/2008 10:35

LOL!!! Can't even write a sentence now!!!!!

tkband3 · 25/01/2008 11:05

Triplets, if I'm driving, I can give you a lift, although I'm not sure it's that much easier to get to me than to Birmingham .

And Tigger, I don't drink either (well, only fizzy stuff, and only a glass or two of that before I fall over ), so don't let that put you off. Anyway, it's always good to have someone sober around to take pictures and remind all the lushes others what embarrassing things they got up to the night before .

I haven't asked DP yet - he's been away all week, got back late last night and I'm out tonight. But I'm sure it won't be a problem.

Don't mind who I share with - I don't think I snore, but I will get up for the loo in the night - my bladder's never quite recovered from pregnancy !

MarsLady · 25/01/2008 11:29

I'd best share with the Custard if she's coming. Other than that I'm happy to share with anyone especially as I will probably visit each room anyway! lol

HarrogateMum · 25/01/2008 11:52

and in answer ot Estar - if there are any issues with odd numbers I will happily pay for a room on my own (not that I dont want to share with you dingdong, but you know what I mean)if that stops any issues!!

OP posts:
HarrogateMum · 25/01/2008 14:40

and Chops - there is a car park next door, but you have to pay, I think its around £15 for 24 hours but dont quote me. Otherwise I dont think its much of a walk from the train station.

OP posts:
Chopster · 25/01/2008 14:53

hmm, looks like it might be cheaper to get a train, only £35 according to a website I just looked at. Hmmmm, will have a think. Would probably rather drive, but then again, sit on train, relax...

estar · 25/01/2008 16:17

Oooooo, hi Chops It would be my pleasure!

Tkb, I'll be with you in the corner taking evidence pics

Do we know yet if anyone is bringing teeny babies too?

estar · 25/01/2008 16:21

Tigger, are you sure your DH couldn't manage for about 36 hours?

Come and join the teetotal corner!

HarrogateMum · 25/01/2008 17:13

whats this about teetotal?????

Arent there any other DRINKERS coming!!~???

OP posts:
Chopster · 25/01/2008 17:54

Well I never touch the stuff

are you bringing Levi, estar?

HarrogateMum · 25/01/2008 18:42

hee hee I've got one on the go as well!! White wine that is.....DH has been away for two nights and not back until 11 tonight so its been a looooong 3 days.

So - are we agreed (I am an organising type and would love to arrange and book the lot but a)am sure some people will change their minds and b) I cant afford to book it for everyone)that......

Its May 17th (Saturday)

The City Inn, Brindleyplace, Birmingham.

Twin rooms - £70 per room.

Pairs to book rooms and sort between themselves payment.

If an issue with odd numbers at the end - will have a room to myself to make it easier.

Once we have numbers can look at a good restaurant in the vicinity and book.

Plan to arrive midday Sat? POss some shopping in the aft followed by drinks, dinner, drinks, drinks (tea for the tea-totallers - d'ya get it!!?). Sunday - brekkie - lounging poss more shopping before heading off early aft?

If anyone wants to get in touch with other people re sharing rooms feel free to email me at [email protected] and I can facilitate without the need for everyone to stick their email addresses on here.

Right, my work here is done. I'm orf to watch the end of Night Garden.

OP posts:
HarrogateMum · 25/01/2008 18:44

PS - as I am the organising type I may have come across as bossy so if anyone else wants to make other suggestions, PLEASE PLEASE DO (I got called "brusque" in an appraisal once and it has lived with me ever since........)

OP posts:
Chopster · 25/01/2008 18:47

and that there are only four of us going....

c'mon girls, we gotta have a party!

I need this wine tonight. Been a very slow, long and busy week. But fingers crossed one dt will be properly potty trained by the end of it!

Estar, my email is [email protected]. Not sure when you want to think about booking?

Chopster · 25/01/2008 18:49

Hm, me too! Or sommat along those lines...

I'm jsut glad we're getting somewhere this time, and I've never been to Birmingham before

triplets · 25/01/2008 19:04

Looked at train/bus travel, I wouldn`t get there until 3-4pm, and would have to leave at 10am to get back here because of times from London!

triplets · 25/01/2008 19:05

perhaps we should do two, one north, one south!

Chopster · 25/01/2008 19:16

where in london do you have to change trips? I might be able to help out, could maybe come into london and pick you and mars up?

triplets · 25/01/2008 19:22

If I come on the coach it would be 10.30am at Victoria coach station, or otherwise Charing Cross

HarrogateMum · 25/01/2008 19:25

and it isnt set in stone - as long as we are all there for the boozeup civilised evening meal, we'll be right!!

OP posts:
Chopster · 25/01/2008 21:02

triplets can u find newhere in berkshire from there like maidenhead - that is 40 mins from london and on my way. About hour and half from birming ham from there.

Tortington · 25/01/2008 21:19
