TripleyTigger · 01/01/2008 12:39

I have gifts of paracetamol and hot toddies for you all!!! Don't worry you ladies all rest,I'll clean the thread today

Feet up!! I need to hoover up those nut shells from under the sofa!!

Piximon my email is [email protected]

estarofbethlehem · 01/01/2008 13:16

Oooo, that sounds nice Tigger, if I pretend to be poorly, can I join you too?

Wow, Pixi, I'm praying for you babe. Having gone through similar last year (multiple house moves, too many children, DH working away and flippin PREGNANT!) and dragged myself through come out the other end, you have ALL my sympathies. I was texting a friend this morning and realised that although last year was the physically toughest I've ever been through, I now feel like if I got through that, I can get through anything!

doubleEGGnog · 01/01/2008 14:37

Happy New Year to you all and sorry some of you are feeling so rough (only the genuine ones, not sorry if it is SELF INFLICTED .

Outlaws left us today thank god. Will not see them again til DTs are born so hoping DTs stay in for a few weeks longer!

DS has developed appalling sleeping habits, throwing his Blankie out of the bed and then screaming and screaming at the top of his voice until someone goes in and gives it back. Would your advice be to just let him scream? We have been going in as we had people staying and really didn't want to let him scream all night, but he did it NINE times last night.

Also a bit worried as he has started hitting himself in the face for no reason, and doesn't seem to really notice he is doing it (only once or twice a day). Concerned that him throwing Blankie out is also an unconscious thing as he seems genuinely horrified that Blankie is on the floor and not in the bed, yet he has often thrown him three foot across the room, not just dropped him. Not what we need right now.

Finally, pixi good luck with the impending move and everything that is going on. I sent a little card shaped something to you a couple of weeks ago and am worried it was one of the 2 million items lost by Royal Mail, did it ever arrive?

FrumpytheGrumpyreindeer · 01/01/2008 15:35

Happy New Year!!

Oh boy. Our houseful just grew and we ended up with a heap of my little brothers friends as well. It was huge fun. We drank everything, watched fireworks, hijacked a neighbour, DD1 got up loads as she is unwell, then when she got up just before midnight I gave her a lemonade and a bag of crisps and convinced her to stay at the party . Then DT1 appeared and joined the party. DT2 slept through it all with a temperature. A'bdy left at 3.30am. I cooked heated up haggis, neeps and tatties and it went down a treat. My cousin stood outside to be our first foot and then sang all the songs from Dirty Dancing. What a laugh.

Pixi, glad Christmas day was a good one for you. Sorry to hear the next days weren't. That goes similar for me too, its a pattern isn't it. We will miss you on this thread until you are internet connected again. Do keep in touch through Mars and do let us know if we can help. I can send things through the post anytime, even if its just a postcard. Postcards/letters are important. They brighten a day and you can look at them anytime to remind yourself people care. It will be tough by yourself getting settled in, just keep focussing on the next bit.

Momma, how are you today?

Em, I love films under a blanket. We had Pollyanna on earlier and I was sitting with tears pouring eyes filled at the end bit I am an emotional teabag

estar, hullo dear!

Triplets, where are you? We miss you when you go off and have fun without us

New year, new thread, wow!

FrumpytheGrumpyreindeer · 01/01/2008 15:37

I think we might be about to hit our tenth thread.

FrumpytheGrumpyreindeer · 01/01/2008 15:41

LG&T, I forgot to leave you a box of paracetamol I bet you got ill just as all your children came back......not blaming them, just the sod's law that says you couldn't be ill when you had more time to be ill. xxx Better soon I hope sweetheart.

FrumpytheGrumpyreindeer · 01/01/2008 15:42

Mars, of course eleven people was a challenge to prepare for Especially when one is used to just being wheeled out on the balcony to wave.

FrumpytheGrumpyreindeer · 01/01/2008 15:46

D'y ever wonder if you could shave off your spare tyre?

Happy New Year everyone - Hope it's a good one for you all!!

MarsyChristmas · 01/01/2008 20:35

How you doing T&T?

Momma... haven't seen her over Christmas. Expecting to hear from her soon. She's truly thrilled with the recipes that you sent though.

FG... and you thought you wouldn't enjoy it! lol

Egg... not sure. Have you got Dr Harvey Karp's book and/or DVD? A fellow doula (that I respect greatly) swears by it.

What are we going to name this thread? Almost at the end now people!

tripletsandtwins · 01/01/2008 20:49

I'm ok thanks mars, I saw the lactation consultant yesterday, she's not managed to get me bfing but she's given me a prescription for some thrush medication because the babies have thrush in their mouths which they have so nicely shared with my nipples! Lovely. (I have cut back on formula though.)

How about,

d'y ever wonder if you miss sanity the most since dts?

or

Chaos. Panic. Disorder. Dts have been here!

or

d'y ever wonder why people like telling you that their auntie's cousin's son-in-law has triplets?

or

dy' ever wonder if it is better to keep you mouth shut and appear an idiot than to open it and remove all doubt.

I think I'll heed the advice of my last idea

Leochristmaspuddingbelly · 01/01/2008 20:52

Belated happy birthday to Pixi's dts! Congratulations Pixi!

And Happy new year to everyone!

devondoris · 01/01/2008 20:53

Is Pixi still on or has she gone already? Pixi - If you're still able to see, make sure you contact me when you get down here. Would love to see you again, and meet the DTs et al! Are you going to T'mouth or elsewhere? If anyone else knows the answers to these questions, do let me know!!

Hope all you ill people recover soon. Just not nice being ill over holiday time.

Is it a bad thing to drug one's son with Medised when you're not sure whether he's in pain or being a pest??? It may be teeth, it may not be. I just don't know. But he's sleeping now which I think is a good thing. And it's only his second dose this month. Can you hear the guilt????

Off to watch Bond movie now and forget the guilt. xx to all.

inamerrymuckingfuddle · 01/01/2008 21:06

devondoris · 01/01/2008 21:12
