Wow Trips... 30 years. Cool!

Mellow here as well though I'm actually visiting the clients that gave birth. Trying to keep things as mellow as possible really.

Kids had a great Christmas (well we all did actually) and seem to be playing with their new toys/gadgets... so that's good.

doubleEGGnog · 27/12/2007 13:48

Hello girls! Glad everyone survived Christmas although for slownorris and her poor DD, thank god she is ok poor little love. Mars I was wondering about you on Christmas day and presuming that if you had a client in labour you have to attend even if it interrupts your family Christmas lunch...

All went well here, 10 people for Christmas lunch but mum and sis did most of the cooking etc so although I wasn't quite relaxed it was certainly no hardship for me.

Triplets - firstly your pics on your profile are ADORABLE, it really makes me get impatient for my little ones to arrive. Also, despite having only been married a mere 6 years, I know what you mean about Christmas. I do enjoy it, but mainly because everyone else is so happy, and I would be just as happy having a quiet day. I was looking forward to it just because I was seeing all my family together, but had it been the inlaws year (we take it in turns to have Christmas with mine and DH's parents), I would not have looked forward to it at all, apart from to see DS's little face when he opened his car .

Anyone got a small DC who would be interested in an England footie t-shirt and shorts with "Beckham" on the back. A family friend gave it to DS but a) we are not into footie gear and b) it is for age 18 months and he is nearly 2 and not a small lad.

doubleEGGnog · 27/12/2007 13:50

BTW - Tigger! . Am hoping that there is a third brother and your BIL's girlfriend was not wishing she had picked your DH! Really was an Eastenders type scenario. What happened in the aftermath?

TripleyXmasTippleTigger · 27/12/2007 14:45

LOL Egg, I couldn't give my Dh away, mores the pity!! . No she had about seven others to choose from thankfully.
The aftermath? A lot of manly chest puffing and face to face stuff, even though the brother concerned told her 'on yer bike love'.
i was so amused shocked by it all!!! It dosen't take a genius to figure out:
1.if you are going to confess you love someone, make sure they feel the same.

  1. Don't tell everyone else before your boyfriend
3.Xmas,probably isn't the best time!!!!

Thw worst thing is they are all living in the same house at the moment!!!

triplets · 27/12/2007 16:07

Hi all,
A chance to sit! Kids all watching Oliver Twist, turkey carcass simmering for soup! DH outside bagging and sorting the humongus pile of rubbish and Im about to make a cuppa, anyone want one? Just looked at my new book, Nigella Express, not too inspired by the recipes! Right, anyone got or know anyone who would like Knight pjs/dressing up suits? My boys got them, far too small, age 7/8. Came from the lovely Canterbury Cathedral gift shop, free to good home!

TripLetItSnowAndTwins · 27/12/2007 19:46

Hi all, hope you're all well and had great xmas'

We had a great time, dts had lots of fun, and are still playing with the things they got! Amazing ... We dodged a disaster when Molly picked up a chocolate with a nut in, normally there are no nuts in the house because dts and i are all allergic, but as it was xmas... thankfully dh caught her before any damage was done.

Baby Dts (this is going to get confusing isn't it?) are gorgeous still, but I'm struggling to bf, words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated

doubleEGGnog · 27/12/2007 20:00

LOL T&T, I read that the DTs had lots of fun and thought "but they're only a week old" and then realised of course that you meant the trio not the duo. I guess you will have to type Dx3 and Dx2 or something.

Have added two new pics to my profile from Christmas Day, you can see me and my bump...

MarsyChristmas · 27/12/2007 21:02

T&t replied to your bfing thread. Email me please... lovelymarslady at aol dot com or mammydoula at aol dot com.

I'll give you my number so that we can have text and/or phone contact. Got the others through it will get you through it too. I know you can do it.

Just be sure to have your support team available cos you need to babymoon!

Right... off to salsa. Will check in when back. If you email momma she has my mobi number and can give it to you. I would walk off the floor to help you (and you know how much I love my salsa).

Bit of a belated happy christmas to you all from me !

Egg, you look gorgeous!

We had a lovely christmas, avoided traditional christmas day and went to find some sun in the mountains! Its hte first time ds1 can remember seeing mountains (except from a distance), when I asked him if the mountains are like he thought they would be he said 'I didn't think than not mummy! Its a big stone!' ! (well I thought it was cute anywas !)!

Today me and dh had a day alone together, no children!!!!!! We seem to bicker a lot these days so it was great to spend the time together on our own. We went for a long (snowy) hilly walk and had cheese fondue for lunch. I wish we could have more days like that it was wonderful!

Only a week before I go back to work!!!!!! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!

FrumpytheGrumpyreindeer · 27/12/2007 23:18

Hullo all!

I am a bloated whale atm I think I have eaten and drank more than I should but I also seem to have bad PMT again. I need a change, I only had a period 2 weeks ago, and the time between them is getting shorter and shorter Spent the morning feeling down and the evening feeling tearful. I didn't sleep well and look drawn and grey today (usual stuff when a period is on its way). Bloody, bloody, bloody hormones. Can I pop them into the swap shop please? Will accept anything, especially need a new cheese grater...... Just had a bath and smothered my hide with cream so I feel a little better.

Leo, snowy walks, heavenly!! DP and me just worked out its been almost a year since we went out together alone IYKWIM. Not good enough.

Em I don't know whether to laugh or cry!!

slownorris, , Christmas in hospital ooooooohhh. I did that with my DD1 2 years back and, although everyone makes a huge effort, it goes against the grain for children and christmas and hospital to be in the same breath. Hope she's ok xxx.

Not good company this evening. Going to do my Tesco shop......

Mars, I have emailed you, sorry if you can't understand it!

Egg, you look amazing! And so slim

Leo, a snowy walk sounds amazing!

Fg, sympathy coming your way, I know the feeling! Xmas is great...it's the afteraffects that aren't

MarsyChristmas · 28/12/2007 02:29

Not talking to Egg... far too gorgeous looking. I was 5 times the size at the beginning of my twin pregnancy... sigh...

Replied to you t&t. Sounds like lots is going right so take heart! But let's get that pair back onto your breasts full time. One of the problems with the bottle is that they don't need to open their mouths wide, so you could excacerbate things. But... you're doing LOTS right.

Salsa was fab!

Pixi's DTs are 1 on Sunday. Can you believe it? 1 already! Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!

Right... a quick scoot around the board and then bed I think!

Chops ... Well you never know.. she might look in! lol

Norris... I hope your darling is better.

FG... your room awaits!

tripletsandtwins · 28/12/2007 04:30

Oh bummer, Mars, I was just about to email you, when the internet crashed and I lost it all! Flip.

I'll get it to you sometime tomorrow morning, I'm too tired to type it out again just now.

estarofbethlehem · 28/12/2007 09:50

Morning all. Happy Post-Christmas lazy days. Hope Chops got off okay.

What a mixed bag of Christmases! My own was utterly fabulous in many ways - first time we've ever just done Xmas Day at home (normally at my parent's) so it was nice and chilled in the morning with just us. The dc literally opened a present each then sat and played with it or read it for about 15 minutes before we moved on to the next one, which made a nice change from the usual flurry of franticness. Dinner wasn't great tho - I mean, the food was fantastic, dh did a fab job, but after chewing on a few sausages and yorkshire puds, the boys just weren't interested any more and started messing around. I kind of knew that was going to happen, but when you think of the time and momey that goes into Xmas dinner, it's so annoying. So I lost it for a little bit and spent about ten minutes upstairs crying saying 'When will it get any easier?'

Anyway, I always feel better after a good cry, and I also realised at the moment that the whole present and Santa aspect of Christmas is so magical when they're still young, whereas when we have 4 hungry teenage boys the food will be the bit we all really enjoy and make a fuss of.

So sausage butties it is next year then .

And as for the overflowing bathroom sink that flooded the kitchen below, well, we won't even go there......

Egg - your figure, your hair, your gorgeous gorgeous house -

Norris - about your DD. How awful! Hope she's home soon.

Tripley - Can't believe she did that! I went out with a guy for 18 months before I realised that I fancied his twin brother more than him, but I just quietly ended it rather than telling him the details. How on earth did she think it would end happily? Sounds like they're all better off without her.

LargeG&T - are you having a late Christmassy day when your menagarie dc are back?

MarsyChristmas · 28/12/2007 11:25

Glad you had a great Christmas Estar.

Well we're back in the real world today... I came down to find that the DTs had given each other medicine because of their colds. Grrrr......... So I gave them a right bollocking good telling off and explained that unless Mummy or Daddy give them medicine they would be very sick "and cough" said DT2. Sigh............ when do their brains/intelligence/"I get it" kick in?

At least yours took a couple of bites. DT1 came to the table... looked at the millions of us assembled and went to play in her new Rose Petal cottage! lol

doubleEGGnog · 28/12/2007 13:58

DS ate nothing of his Christmas meal. He tried a sausage wrapped in bacon, spat it out and refused anything else...

Thank you for lovely comments on my pic! I assure you that:-

a) my house is a shite-hole, and it is rented, so not even mine. Even I thought it looked good in that pic, but really it is not lovely, and needs a lot of work that we wont do as it is not ours.

b) I only washed my hair on Christmas Eve for the first time in a week. It has not been washed since. Hence hair looked ok then, but does not now.

c) DTs are taking all my food, they are even eating my breasts which have shrunk during pregnancy. Don't worry, I will pile it back on again after they come out, and will gain weight everywhere except the boobs, as happened last time once I had finished breast feeding .

Glad it sounds like everyone had a good Christmas apart from the hospital trip and some tears from Estar (sorry if i have missed anything else traumatic).

Leo - remind me where you live. Is it Germany? Your Christmas sounds lovely lovely lovely.

FG - a friend of mine had endless periods, with smaller and smaller gaps between them and very heavy bleeding (not sure if you have this or just the horrendous PMT). Anyway, she finally decided to take her doc's advice and have a hysterectomy (she was 39) and said it was the best thing she had ever done. Of course no good if you want more little ones, but she did say her world had changed SIGNIFICANTLY and she feels fab now (also lost some weight!!!).

Leochristmaspuddingbelly · 28/12/2007 21:33

Norris, sorry I missed that your dd was in hospital over christmas. how is she?

FG, I can really recommend spending a little bit of time away from everything with your dp. ... we are almost back to bickering again but realise that we really like each other a lot and its just the mess we live in and the endless things to do that get at us, so both thinking a bit more before we open our mouths.
Have you spoken to a doctor about your pmt and periods?

Egg - Switzerland. Just outside Zurich.
I was the same, I was really skinny after my twin pregnancy, I ate constantly. I right back to my normal weight after the birth. Piled it on since then and now I'm slowly, slowly losing a little bit.

Totally lost my temper twice with ds1 today . I have said I never will, but today I seriously threatned to smack him. At the time I really meant it, but thinking about it now I would have regretted it so much. He has a habit of just making a complete f*-ing mess. Emties toy boxes throws them around (its dangerous for one thing...). I made him this wooden kitchen thing with little box drawer things from Ikea for his first birthday. He was out of my sight for 2 minutes while I went to the loo ffs, when I got back he had emptied all the drawers on the floor and was just throwing the last bit across the room (dts could easily have been hit ).
The second time - he is going through a hit mummy phase at the moment and he hit me once too often a little too hard. How do I handle this, I tell him over and over again 'don't hit me I don't like it'. Usually if he does it 3 times he gets time out. What else can I do? It distressed me, but I flip between being totally in love with my gorgeous little boy and almost hating that horrible part of him .

triplets · 28/12/2007 21:48

Good evening ladies all! Frumpy, how could you offer chocs and take out the nut ones, my favourites incase you didn`t guess! Well we actually did something spontaneous today, usually in this house DH plans everything lke a military manouvre, have I spelt that right? We actually have 6 friends coming round tomorrow night for supper, I have to say I used to love to entertain, many a wonderful night we have had around this table. But this last year with my trio, I just have not felt like doing it, as they are soooooooo naughty at bedtime. Anyway, our friends said they would love to come and we are all doing a different course, so no cooking as I had a lovely idea. We all adore prawns, so as the main course we are simply having a huge bowl of prawns, lemon mayo, salad and hot crusty baguette. So this morning we were on the ferry to Calais by 8am, shopped in Cite Europe, prawns, patissserie, cheese etc, had a lovely lunch and back on the ferry and home by 6pm! The onlt thing that spoilt it was the choppy sea and a couple of naughty episodes with the children! Cite Europe looked lovely with all the Christmas decorations and they had such fun things for the kids to keep them busy including an indoor toboggan run and it was all free!! So looking forward to tomorrow night, some adult company and heavenly simple food! We are only 22 miles across the channel yet its a different world, especially foodwise, not to mention the wine! Oh, and a real treat, and I badly need one, I bought a fab big fur coat(not real!) which makes me feel fab!

triplets · 28/12/2007 21:50

Dont worry about those feelings, I am sure it happens to us all, I love my children so very much, but there are times when I dont like them! We are only human!

triplets · 28/12/2007 23:04

After my earlt morning start I must away to my bed, but first must sneak a bit of DH macadamia nut brittle..........mmmm! Night all, sleep tight xxx

MarsyChristmas · 28/12/2007 23:20

How lovely Triplets. Kids... can't beat 'em, can't put 'em up for adoption! Sigh..........

No word from T&T.... hmmmm... need to keep an eye out for her the poor exhausted mite.

Now.... I do think it's off that some of our less regular (and I'm not talking bowel movements) multi mums haven't popped in for a bit of Christmas cheer. However, I have faith and have stocked the fridge with Champers for the New Year celebrations!
