tkband3 · 31/12/2007 20:53

Happy New Year to all the wonderful multiple mums . Just me and DP tonight, in front of crap telly, with a yummy meal. Doubt we'll make it till midnight, DP feeling poorly (sorry you're not well Momma , hope you're better soon) and it's my turn to get up in the morning!

Here's to a fun-filled and happy 2008 .

devondoris · 31/12/2007 20:56

Just read that you're not feeling well, Momma. Hope you're better soon too.

I've just read a bit more and it's making me laugh! Now off to watch crap telly too, and not eat yummy meal. May eat chocolate instead...

theslownorris · 31/12/2007 21:01

Happy New Year to you all from the slownorris household . Dd4 is definitely feeling back on form-she's up to no good terrorising her sisters. Who'd have thought a little one would get the better of twins?
Got some retail therapy today, nothing more exciting than a pair of school shoes for dt2 (her third pair since September ). Dd1 and I are planning some decent equine therapy tomorrow and are going out on the ponies for a nice New Year ride.
Hopefully I'll be around at midnight-especially as I manage a siesta too this afternoon .
See you later.

theslownorris · 31/12/2007 21:03

Momma-get well from me too. (Sorry, shouldn't have read so quick and missed it )

piximon · 31/12/2007 21:40

Ok like the rest of this year I'm here but not for long. Will try to update as quick as I can.

First thank you you wonderful, lovely multiple mums, we had a wonderful Christmas day and I'm sorry I couldn't get on here to thank you for all our wonderful stuff. Suffice to say (god I hope I remember everything) DH loved his remote control cars and has been using them to terrorize play with the DCs, esp encouraging the DTs to move faster out of the way! DS1 loved Batman (so did DD1 but he's learnt to hide from her). DD1 has been faithfully putting Kipper to bed every night. I am at getting Elemis goodies and keep pawing at them and all the DCs are entranced by In the night garden book (DH likes to linger in the room making fun of me reading it out loud). FG the tablet was a revelation, I've never had it before, kept it hidden from DH (he's a sweet fiend although whippet thin) and dished it out gradually - yummy. The DCs were caught helping themselves to the Lindt chocs today while I was out, they were sneaking up and down taking two at a time (one each for DS1 and DD1) but Leo the pics of your DCs stole all the limelight, I love photos and your DCs are beautiful.

Sadly I think I used all my happy bubbles on Xmas day as I woke up on the 26th to find I felt so down I didn't want to get out of bed so didn't and then a few days later came down with a bug and couldn't. 24hrs without food and barely keeping water in and I was over the worst.

Luckily felt much better yesterday just in time for DTs big day. It was hit and miss. They enjoyed themselves, (but then they didn't know any better and got to eat some choc cake). But very few people turned up. Think I invited about 30 in total (last chance to see us before we flee London) and as I hadn't heard from most of them assumed about half would turn up so catered accordingly, we had 4 turn up.

I spent today running around town opening bank accounts for the DTs as they finally have money to deposit and closing accounts I had from when I was a kid which have silly things like 1p and 78p in (from the days when banks encouraged you not to close accounts but leave a few pence in).

I leave London on Saturday for the farm I linked to about a million years ago. I'm there for about 6-8 weeks. Will have no internet access! I'll be on my own for first few weeks then DH will join me for one week to find a longer rental and sort out school for DS1 and midwife for next baby, then hopefully my mum will be joining me down there and DH will come back to London for his 6mth contract. Have busy few days ahead of packing, packing, panicking.

So if I don't get back on for a while I'll try to keep Mars updated so she can fill you in. I'll miss you all loads. Have been thinking about you all week.

piximon · 31/12/2007 21:42

How can I leave without of course saying HAPPY NEW YEAR ladies.

TripleyTigger · 31/12/2007 22:17

Is Momma ill? Where was that to? Sorry Momma, I hope you feel better soon. If its the cold/cough thing no-one has been safe in Exeter and its a horrible one Snuggle up and keep warm my friend.

piximon,sorry you felt bad too

piximon · 31/12/2007 22:21

Leo - my DS1 took to emptying out all his toy boxes and throwing things around "but mummy we're playing fireworks". I confiscated the things thrown and put them out of his reach until he had practically nothing left and he soon got the message. When that once didn't work I bagged a few bits up and took them to the charity shop. He now knows that when I saw tidy up I mean it.

I think some DCs are just more likely to push your boundaries than others. My DS1 is currently being rude to people when those he perceives to be in charge are out of earshot, ie he said to his grandad yesterday "you are a big fat pig" which he's knows he'd never get away with saying to his grandma. He also has taken to muttering comments under his breath at the table when he thinks I can't hear him and if pulled up will say he's talking to himself. One thing after another lol.

Violence is a really difficult one though. The experts I've seen (tv/books) seem to say to walk away but they don't say how to cope if you've got other children who you also need to look out for at the same time.

piximon · 31/12/2007 22:27

I'm trying to work my way through but think I'll have to admit defeat.

Momma sorry to hear you're not well. Can't see a post saying what's up.

TripEm if you can tell me your email addy I can send you my mobile number in case you want to contact me while I'm offline.

GodzillasResolutoryBumcheek · 31/12/2007 22:43

OK. I am so lost i feel like i am in a big field of, er, lostness.

Happy New Year anyway . Sorry, i would add more but this migraine is stopping me concentrating.

Triplets, if they lock the gate, is there not a wheel chair available for your mum to use so she could visit your dad and Matthew? When I went to visit my gran recently I noticed our groundskeeper has a few loan ones available for people who can't manage the walking. I've been really thinking about you and how you're getting through the festivities.

MarsyChristmas · 01/01/2008 04:23
