I understand the big downer on the body..........I ain't got this name for nothing you know

But, we must not feel the ridiculous pressure 'they' heap on us. HD likes your boobs right? You have gorgeous long legs right? So you wear shorts in the summer and enjoy your legs and I'll 'rejoice' in my saggy B cups. You can do other stuff to enjoy that body. Time for a facial/massage/new clothes I think HM

MarsLady · 26/03/2007 13:26

Finally! I get to see you too.

You look lovely, so do the children!

Harrogatemum · 26/03/2007 13:35

gotta go out now to my Mums - but Mars, I promise to upload a pic of HD when I get back so you can wave your tassles at him!!! He would luuurrrvvve it!

frumpygrumpy · 26/03/2007 13:45

Oh I see what you mean, get the implants darling, life it too short.

I'm kidding! I'm bloody kidding! Wow, you have translucent skin and I am turning green with envy. Why did I think you had light brown hair? Your babies are heavenly too. Right, bog off my thread. You're too attractive.

Kelly1978 · 26/03/2007 14:14

Hello all, i am released from my prison of hot and stuffy hospital. The consultant practically threw me ut this morning

The baby has been behaving since sat eve after 2 fairly determined efforts to come in to the world 7 weeks early. I hate sitting down and being told what to do especially by arrogant consultant. Midwives were lovely though i must stress. They gave me some nfediprine (sp?) to stop the contractions and the lovely intramuscular make your leg\bum go dead has to be put in slowly steroids for the baby's lungs. He seems to have got the message though and i am confined to the couch until term....HA! I will be up at 36 weeks, only 3 weeks to go

The conslutant was very rude.....the baby was breech when i went in so they all just assumed i would have a section, oh noooooooo. I pointed out he was flexed breech and still tiny (ish) so i would rather have a natural birth. Cue horrified looks and much persuasion from him to convince me i was putting my baby in danger etc.... when he realised it was not working on me he then tried my dh! Scare tactics all the way, very bad.

Am sure there were big red notes up everywhere warning against unstable mother in pre term labour. The consultant said i hope you make it to Plymouth.....

Am being very good, dh is doing everything and i really will behave as i dont want him to arrive early. It is soooooo frustrating though, the house has to be packed up for Plymouth and i have not even got the baby clothes out yet! Calm, calm......

Glad you are all ok and very pleased to hear you got your night away HM. I was very concerened you wouldnt.

Hugs to all and thank you for all your lovely baby staying in vibes, they worked!

frumpygrumpy · 26/03/2007 16:15

Aw lg&t, what a frustrating time! Why are they so against a breech birth? Do they not know babies can and do come out that way just fine? What exactly is the worry with it? An experienced midwife will handle it with care.

Please do try and stay on the couch though. I admit I would find this as hard as pulling each of my own leg hairs out with tweezers, but you must relinquish as much as you can and aim forward to a time when you will have everything running your way again.

stay baby stay baby stay

My other love in life, Bruce Springsteen, does a dreamy song "Dream Baby Dream" but I will resist all temptation to sing it for your baby

Okay - day one on solo pox duty survived - no casualties so far and have even baked a cake. Question for Kelly (or anyone else who may know) can you freeze butter icing?

MarsLady · 26/03/2007 17:12

Honestly some people!!!!!!!! 4% of babies are breech. Breech babies are more than able to be born vaginally, even footlings!

The safest birthing option for a breech baby is vaginally. A caesarean birth is not an easy onee especially for breeches. Sigh...........

Have you read any stuff by Mary Cronk... breech guru? like this for example

Woman's a marvel! You have my number lg&t... call as and when you need to.

MarsLady · 26/03/2007 17:12

Rosmerrin.... if it's on my cake then yes! I freeze everything.

rosmerrin · 26/03/2007 17:15

Thanks Mars - its very similar to your recipe but I got it from Bill Granger's Everyday - Lemon Pound Cake - the icing is just butter, icing sugar, lemon juice and zest. Would you say it would freeze? Otherwise I will have to eat it all and I may be sick!

MarsLady · 26/03/2007 17:27

I think you can freeze it.... though why.... sob..... you are .... sob .... making anyone else's .... sob..... cake...... I don't know! Sob......sob!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

rosmerrin · 26/03/2007 17:36

I know, I know - I wasnt sure if I should confess or not! Don't worry I will be trying yours next - this one doesnt do the drizzle and has less flour - I saw him make it on TV a few weeks ago and have been meaning to give it a go - before I realised that yours has iconic status. No slight intended and I promise promise promise to make yours next time and let you know how I get on especially as you say it freezes!!!

rosmerrin · 26/03/2007 20:00

Surely not (I like that one too, also good done with lime - dont tell Mars, I'm in the doghouse already!)

dingdongjustforyoufg · 26/03/2007 20:03

its ok rosmerrin, it'll be our secret

Mrsjaffabiffa · 26/03/2007 20:05

Just crashing thread again....

Wondered if there was anynews recently on charleymouse? I hope she is doing just fine.

That breech birth stuff is really interesting. The French wont hear of it, I'd be escorted to the loony bin if I tried to let me deliver this baby if it doesn't turn.

dingdongjustforyoufg · 26/03/2007 20:12

charleymouse hasn't been around for a while, hope she is ok

dingdongjustforyoufg · 26/03/2007 20:14

DT2 was breech, feet first, they pretty much dragged her out in the end (or so it felt to me) and she got her head a bit stuck, which DH tells me did not make for a pleasant image luckily for us and her she didn't suffer any lack of oxygen though

dingdongjustforyoufg · 26/03/2007 20:26

oops, that was meant to be encouraging to LG&T but I must've just thought that part of it...

Glad to hear you're back home LG&T and make sure you take the advice and REST!

triplets · 26/03/2007 22:40

God oh to escape on here! Its 10.30pm and both boys still carrying on, Rebecca still awake and husband very grumpy and up there as we speak bawling at them. Just reinforces my point that after 29 years in my lovely little house we have got to move. Been back to have a 2nd viewing on the house we like today and still like it. Our went on the market last Weds, had our first viewing today which was scary! Fortunealty kids had gone off to the allotment with their Dad, he was after slinking off on his own, I told them if they stayed in they would be given extra maths homework Out of the blue the owner of the house we like phoned to say someone else had just offered the full asking price, I didnt feel too disappointed, just said I was glad for her. Two mins later our agent phoned and said they had a family who were here for the day from London and would love to come NOW!You have never seen me move so quick! Clothes, boots, lunchboxes, cat, and cat food all hurled into cupboard, a quick lick of lipstick, no time to bake for that homebake smell to go wafting thru the house, so had to make do with a copy of Nigellas Domestic Godess on my book stand and a large mixing bowl in situ! I ended up doing the tour, our very first viewing! Kept thinking, "what am I doing showing strangers around my house". Odd when you have never sold before! Anyway, well see what tomorrow brings as I got good vibes from them!Think husband is grumpt tonight as he is scared they will say yes! We need to move on!
