Positive thoughts being thunk here.

The story of the Sudocreme and the frying pan - to be honest I was out of the room when it happened - i think it was some new form of "washing up" my boys were engaging in whilst waiting for me to get my lazy arse out of bed and make them breakfast this morning. Am I right in thinking they get up to these sort of things more when there are two of them plotting together rather than just one. I love to eavesdrop on them and hear them egging each other on or daring each other to do stuff. It is usually DT1 telling DT2 to do something DT1 knows is not allowed - and poor DT2 saying "Mummy said no" but usually giving into temptation or the little DT1 devil on his shoulder!

Harrogatemum,
So glad for you, enjoy enjoy enjoy!

frumpygrumpy · 24/03/2007 13:48

Thinking good thoughts for lg&t, stay strong honey, sending love xxx. Thanks for letting us know showofhands.

HM, do everything I would do , that includes running naked through the corridors of the hotel with just a small towel to cover the dodgy bits (yes, I have, no, not intentionally)

rosmerrin, love your story!

dingdong, I hope you are out shopping do you have a webcam? Can we watch while you try on all your purchases and we can give you marks out of 10? I'll ask MN towers to set a live broadcast, no pressure at all

Yes you are Frumpy!

LG&T.... nothing but love winging its way towards you and "stay right where you are" vibes for the babe!

Spent this morning with a friend that I haven't seen much for a while (she's one of my favourite friends). I was helping her do her monthly cooking stint at the local Soup Kitchen. Had great fun. We made bolognaise, pork and cider casserole and chicken curry.

Now I am supposed to be getting my study done! Sigh......... here I am instead

Rosemerrin.... that's how it works in our house. DT1 says and DT2 does!

This morning they played their own version of hide and seek. First they launched a full frontal nude attack on my sleeping body. Then the game began....

DT1: DT2 you must close your eyes and count and hide

DT2: Oh day (ok) Wun, doo

DT1: No no DT2 1, 2, 3......

DT2: Oh day. Wun, doo, dree, pour (all whilst using his fingers to assist him count).

DT1 (proceeds to hide under the duvet at the bottom of my feet whilst counting loudly). Come and finnnnnnnnnnnnddddddddddddddddd meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!

I'm guessing they haven't really worked out the whole hide and seek thing properly! lol

frumpygrumpy · 24/03/2007 14:30

PMSL Mars , I adore hearing stories like this. You can never hear too many little chats from little children.

so you can't fit a whole child under your boobs then?

It must have been the morning for it. My DD climbed in with me (DTs later) and when I hugged her she said "aw yuk, is that your hairy bottom?" (it wasn't!!!). I then launched into the whole detailed description of how one day she'd wake up with a hair on her front bottom and try to pull it off and realise it won't . I do love our weekend morning chats.

Hello everyone, thanks for the birthday wishes. The boys had a lovely day. I'll have to post some pics once I get them on the computer. I've got some great ones of dt1 looking ferocious on a drum kit.
They loved their Thomas cake, dt2 went straight up and kissed it! I thought he was lunging in for a bite.

lgt, sending lots of positive vibes your way, hope the contractions stop and you are back home soon.

piximom, I did them using fireworks. Have to cut out the image bit by bit and then put it on top of the new pic.

hm, soo glad you made it, hope you're having lots of fun and relaxation.

MarsLady · 24/03/2007 15:06

The only fun and relaxation HM is having might involve a wee announcement in the next few weeks Kelly! lol

ShowOfHands · 24/03/2007 15:14

Just had a text from the lovely LG&T- magic pills have stopped SmallGin&Tonic from making an early entrance- hope this remains the case. She sounds well and mischievous- giving medical staff hell I'm sure. He's still breech though and I think they're trying to talk up a section. I'm sure she's standing her ground for now.

She says hi to all!

MarsLady · 24/03/2007 15:23

Kelly your help needed. Not a multiple issue. A muffin issue

ShowOfHands · 24/03/2007 15:24

Mars have emailed you!

frumpygrumpy · 24/03/2007 17:16

Thanks showofhands, its good to know. Well I hope lg&t has a peaceful night (whatever the hell that is in hospital). showofhands, you can come in here anytime honey. Send her our best, are they going to keep her in from this moment on?

My DP is on a corporate thing , yes, at the weekend

I have just sliced and squeezed a lemon, poured some gin, added the cubes and cascaded in the tonic. What a marvellous sight to sore eyes Anyone?

Mars, how often do you do the soup kitchen? Its just the sort of thing I would like to do (said the crap chef). I'm a little apprehensive of doing it because I'm concerned I'd want to personally help too many people and I can't bring everyone home with me.....I'd also cry buckets if there were hopeless cases.....

Kelly, I'm glad. My goodness, our little ones are not so little anymore! Happy days to you honey.

FG... I was helping out a mate. She volunteers to cook once a month. It's at the local Baptist Church. The food is all donated (apparently a butcher in Hoxton donates all the meat and has done for years) then local people/churches etc donate the rest.

I went cos she needed a hand (normally does it with her DH) and cos I hadn't seen her for ages. It was great fun. Just ask at the local church etc if they have one. Maybe you could set one up! lol

She doesn't serve. They have a rota of people who volunteer to cook. Then the food is frozen and taken out when needed. They serve Mon through Thurs each week.

I'm thinking of signing me and the kids up for a slot. Do them good to do for others!

frumpygrumpy · 24/03/2007 18:11

Thanks Mars, interesting to know. I always think about it on Christmas day as I know they do special soup kitchens then. I agree, as soon as kids are old enough I think its a great idea to get them involved in this kind of thing. I'll keep turning it over in my head, I usually like a long lead time into things but when I commit, I commit.

I have been shopping for 5 hours with just 20 mins for lunch and got a dress in the minute before the car park ran out. DH of course had his suit bought and back to the car within the first hour a poor girl in Jigsaw did her best to sell me the contents of the shop but it was all a bit hippy chic for me today then DH kept going on about the first trousers I tried on so I went back to them thinking I was on to a winner and he pulled a face and said 'are you sure those are the same ones?' again! Then jsut as I stormed off to the car I saw the cutest little dress in Crombie of all places and tried it on and its lovely, not v practical for April in Ireland so I may yet think again hard work though, then picked DTs up from PILs and they have been totally indulged

Mrsjaffabiffa · 24/03/2007 20:13

lg&t is hoping to be let home tommorow on complete bed rest, as if. She said she's bored and hot, but the midwifes are lovely.

Have passed on everyones support and best wishes.

estar · 24/03/2007 20:31

Squeeeeeze, largeg&t, keep that baby in!

Rosmerrin - hope you're not being driven mad by your poxy dts. Mine were 3 months old when they had it so it was sheer bliss because they didn't notice! Lots of soothing cream, baths and DVDs sounds good to me.

Dingdong, go for the dress! I went to a friends wedding at the end of November, and sensibly thought I would wear smart thick belted jumper with skirt. Spent most of the time sweating as the heating was cranked up in the church, surrounded by other women in little dresses and strapless tops... . And of course, couldn't dance at the evening do cos too hot!

dingdongjustforyoufg · 24/03/2007 20:40

if you want to see it try here, you have to go to collection, ladies s/s then it is the bottom right pic, poppy print summer dress

need to find nice red shoes and a cream long length jacket I think

estar · 24/03/2007 21:01

Oooo, dingdong, that's foxy!

frumpygrumpy · 24/03/2007 21:09

dingdong, I like it!! Very sexy little number and you just know when you've got something on that works. Marathon shop, but there's no easy way
